"Wait," I said, "how do you know the vampire's name?" In all the years I had been running from vampires I had never once stopped to learn their names. And they had certainly never bothered to tell them to me.
"From Marcus. He doesn't tell me what happened but... I find things sometimes. Around the mansion." Connor stopped scanning the streets and looked down at me, "there used to be a lot more werewolves that lived there. His family I think. I don't know what happened but I think Drago is the one that did it."
I could feel the panic rising in my chest. What had I gotten myself in to?
"Don't worry," Connor said, holding me close and kissing the top of my head, "I wont let anything happen to you. Not ever."
But all I wanted to do was run.
