Evie threw herself into his arms and kissed him soundly. “Oh my god! Yes, yes, yes and yes! I love you. I’ll marry you tomorrow!”
He laughed as he slipped the ring on her finger, “What? No big wedding this time?”
Evie thought about it for second before answering, “Yes, actually. I do want a big wedding. One scandalous enough to make people forget all about the first one!”
“I don’t think that’s possible.”
“Well, it could be.... If I were hugely pregnant when I walk down the aisle and maybe wearing a red dress?”
His heart skipped a beat. “Are you?”
“Maybe...It’s still too early to tell for certain, but I kinda think so.”
A year earlier, the very idea would have terrified him. But it was Evie, and with her everything was different. “Then by all means, let’s set the Gresham County gossips on their asses... I kind of like the idea of a little, black haired, hellion running around.”
Evie reached for the ribbon laying beside them, “Didn’t you say you had plans for this?”
Jackson took the ribbon from her and pressed her back against the floor. “I have plans for you.”
