When Lucy finds herself falling for her badboy classmate Stone, his confidence, sex appeal, and dangerous attitude seem to be just the tip of the iceberg. It's no accident that Stone is in her class, and no coincidence that she can't keep him out of her thoughts.
After being marked by the Alpha of the Cruentus tribe, Lucy is quickly drawn into Stone's dark world of werebear shifters.

She soon learns that she's a coveted prize among the werebear clans, royal blood flows through her veins, and she may be the only hope for the Cruentus tribe's survival.
When Lucy discovers that her sister Gabby is mated to the Alpha of a rival werebear clan, she must decide between her love for her sister or her fated mate Stone.

NOTE:
Content suitable for adults only, contains violence, sassy females, alpha males, and their graphic sexual encounters.

Chapter One

Lucy huffed as she set down a huge bin of glasses in front
of Mac, the dishwasher. She wiped the sweat off her forehead and turned around
to head back out onto the floor.

“Thanks, sweetheart!” Mac yelled, but Lucy only rolled her
eyes.

She was busting her ass tonight, all because two of the
busboys came down with the stomach bug, and one of the waitresses had called
out of her shift.

“Thanks again, Lucy,” Trish, one of the owners, said
gratefully.

Lucy couldn’t really snap at Trish; she was the owner after
all, plus she had put on an apron and she was trying to help Lucy wait on
customers.

But damn, she sucked at waiting tables!

Lucy nodded, and hurried over to refill drinks.

She had been working at the Falls Diner since her sophomore
year of high school, and after she had graduated back in May, she had picked up
more hours. She was holding steady at around thirty hours a week, on top of the
classes she was currently taking at the community college in Salem.

Thinking about her classes made her think of her older
sister Gabby, and thinking of Gabby brought on a torrent of emotions.

She focused her gaze ahead and hurried over to take the
orders of a new table that had been seated.

Gabby.

The older sister she loved to hate.

Except she didn’t really hate her.

Lucy was just so confused.

Nearly five months ago, Gabby had all but dropped her life
and moved onto this weird reservation with a bunch of people who never really
interacted much with the rest of the community. Of course, Lucy was anything
but social, but it didn’t make sense for Gabby.

Before she left, Gabby had been renting an apartment and
working for the best boutique hotel in the area. She had seemed to be happy and
doing well.

Lucy’s thoughts darkened again. Gabby hadn’t actually seemed
happy—she just sort of seemed to be going through the motions, doing her job,
being a functioning member of society.

Still, it hadn’t seemed that bad to Lucy. At least Gabby had
gotten the hell out of their mother’s house.

But then Gabby met Zane, who Lucy hated to admit was sexy as
hell, and she dropped her entire life, moved in with him, and began doing some
kind of finance job from their place together.

It made Lucy’s head spin just thinking about it.

And something strange had definitely been going on—Lucy,
Gabby and their mother Andrea had all nearly died one night when a bunch of
thugs had broken into the house because Gabby had been there.

Gabby wouldn’t explain, which Lucy held against her, but
Lucy finally settled on the fact that Gabby was happy now and whatever the
problem had been, it certainly seemed to have worked itself out. Gabby wasn’t
around as much as she had been before, but she and Lucy still got together
every few weeks.

Which reminded Lucy—Gabby was supposed to swing by the diner
tonight so they could catch up and Lucy could fill Gabby in on how her courses
were going. Lucy quickly ducked behind a wall and pulled out her phone.

Gabby answered on the first ring. “Hi,” she said somewhat
breathlessly.

“Hey, Gabby. Look, things are really hectic around the diner
this afternoon. We’re three people short, so I don’t think I’m going to be
getting off at my regular time, and I don’t want you sitting around waiting for
me.”

“Oh, okay,” Gabby said slowly, not able to hide her
disappointment. “Hold on,” she said and Lucy could hear muffled talking over
the phone. “What time works for you? I’ll just come by later.”

Part of Lucy was annoyed at her sister’s persistence, while
the other part of her loved Gabby for it. “I don’t know,” she trailed off.
