Betwinx (Paranormal Erotic Romance Novella) (13 page)

The
glowing
light around
Travis
increased in its
intensity.
Lorna
started to glow
a pale blue and stepped
away from Philip
into her husband’s arms. The
glow stopped as
they manifested
in
their
physical form
s
.

“Oh my god. I can see both of you now!” Midge squealed in delight. “Wow, you’re both very beautiful. Well, handsome and beautiful. Oh
,
you know what I mean.”

“Midge!”
Valerie said and took Philip’s hand. “
I can see both of you now too.

“Yeah, me too,” Philip said.

Lorna
smiled at Philip. “You are a brave young man to protect your sister and girlfriend. I feel your fear, but you have given me the
greatest
gift of all.
Thank you for your courage.”

Philip’s chest expanded and he drew up to his full height. “No problem. Happy to do it.”

“Thank you both,”
Travis
said. “
A love like the one
Lorna
and I share is a blessing to find during a lifetime and you
, Valerie and Philip, share
the same kind of love
. Don’t let it slip away.”

“Peach would suit you well for those
bridesmaid
dresses.”
Lorna
winked at Midge.

“You think? Then peach it is! I only have one
question,” Midge said
.
“So where were you
during the other three hundred and sixty four days of the year?

“We must go.”
Travis
smiled.

“Oh sorry. Too many que
stions.” Midge waved. “Goodbye. Have
a great honeymoon in the after
life!

Travis
wrapped his arms around
Lorna
. “See I
told you things would work out
.”

“Now that I didn’t get left behind, I don’t have any regrets.”

He kissed the tears from her cheeks and drew her close as he faced Valerie. “We’re ready.”

Valerie cleared her throat. “
Travis
and
Lorna
, Philip and I hereby release you from this plane of existence and send you into the light so you may be together
on the other side
for eternity.”

“Yeah,” Philip said, “w
e release you to the light
and all that
.”

Lorna
linked her hands
around
Travis
’s
neck
when
he
bent down to kiss her.
The
y
dissolved in
to mist and
vanished
into the night.

“Did they go into the light?” Philip asked
, looking around
.
“Where the hell is the light anyway?”

“Look up,”
Lorna
’s voice fell
down
upon them.

They all
looked into the sky. Two shooting stars flashed across it
s darkness and then combined as one.

“Wow, they really are
together.”
Philip took Valerie’s hand in his.

How
amazing
is that?
