Act 13
Several months have now passed, and the doctor is fully recovered. But is he still researching artificial intelligence?
"Dr. Mabuse! Your students are here!"
Who's this answering the front door? Why, if it isn't Sly! And now he's working for the doctor, helping to keep his laboratory clean and tidy in return for an honest wage. It looks like the little scamp had a 'change of heart' himself!
"Hello, Doctor!"
"What will you be teaching us today?"
Having retired from research, the doctor now spends his days passing on his knowledge to a new generation of scientists.
"What page were we on again?"
"Physiology of Autonomic Functionality, page 28."
"Ah yes… Now where did I put that book?"
And what do we have here? A tin boy and a raggedy puppet, sitting together on the bookshelf.
"Doctor, shall I put on some tea?"
Sly gives a wink to the two dolls as he scurries off into the kitchen. Observing this, one of the students peers curiously at the dolls...who, for an instant, seemed to be facing each other. Or did they?
Dolls kissing?
Impossible!
"My name is Blik-0.
And I'm not a doll.
For I have a human heart!"
Joy, anger, sadness. Perhaps it's having someone with whom to share those feelings that brings us true happiness.
The End…?
So Close
(Blik-0) What are so close you cannot see them?
(Puppe) The feelings inside your heart as you stand here before me.
(Puppe) What are so far, but still you can hear them?
(Blik-0) The words of love I send to you.
(Blik-0) Ah, when I think of you, my heart, it sings; my body, it dances!
(Puppe) Ah, let me open your cage so that you might fly free!
(Blik-0) Can we be together forever?
(Puppe) Must I tell you what you already know?
(Both) Ah, if only we could fly away on the wings of our love,
how happy we would be!
(Both) Ah, we could scale the highest of walls, if only we climbed them together!
(Blik-0) What is so strong it will never, ever change?
(Puppe) This love in my heart for you.
(Both) I love you.
