Mmmmm
, yes, yes!” My body jerked as I came in his hand. Sandwiched between their hard bodies, I didn’t have to worry about my knees buckling. They held me until the last shivers left me. Derek pulled his hand free.

“Hey, let me taste!” I felt Jay leaning over me. “Ah, shit, that’s good.” He thrust softly with his hips. “Makes me want more.”

Good God, were they sampling my juices? That was so shockingly hot!

Derek chuckled and rubbed his cheek and soft beard on my face then stepped away from me. “Yeah, later. We’re too exposed out here. Come on, let’s see this den of hers.” Jay’s warmth left my back as Derek abandoned my front.

I reached out where I thought Derek was, and his hard grip trapped my wrist. A low growl warned me I’d made a mistake.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t want to fall again.” Fear splashed cold water in my face. They were still not quite human. They could snap me in two without a thought. And they might yet.

Derek’s punishing grip immediately changed to one supporting me. “Come on, Pretty. This way.”

I’d left the false wall/door and steel blast door open in case I had to make a hasty retreat. Lot of good that had done me. “Close both doors, please. No one will know we’re here, and we’ll be safe.”

“Cool!”

They both sounded so young. Which might explain their quick triggers. Young guys also didn’t require as much recovery time. I smiled to myself. After so long alone, I had a lot of catching up to do.

Once on the stairs, I had no trouble making my way down. Hearing the door clang shut sent a shiver of doubt down my back. What had I done, locking myself in with two beasts? My lungs struggled to suck in the suddenly thick, still air. A breeze slid past me with the whisper of movement from the guys behind me. I drew a breath. I wasn’t alone down here. Beasts or not, at least I wasn’t alone.

“Hey, lights?”

Choking back a laugh, I struck a match to the lamp. I’d gotten really good at this for Jian, who couldn’t find her way around in the dark. Made no difference to me.

Thank goodness the pot grower had improved the passive ventilation or the lamp smoke would have become a problem.

“Fuckin’ A, dude!” That had to be Jay, a deep voice but full of youthful amazement.

“You live alone.” Derek sounded far more serious, and maybe commanding?

Unable to see their expressions, I worked hard to figure out people from their voices.

The growling accent of these two made it even harder to catch the subtle nuances.

“I do now. Jian, my sister, went out a while ago and didn’t come back.” I swallowed down the grief that had dogged me these last weeks. I curled up in my usual chair, listening to them rustling around. I heard a soft moan of delight and the squeaking of my bed.

Derek’s voice came from that area. “We thought so after watching you for a few days.”

They’d been watching me for days? A shiver ran down my back. Anything could have been watching me, waiting to strike. Damn lucky it was these two. At least I hoped that was lucky.

“Hey, Pretty, this shower work?” From the sound, Jay thought he’d found a hidden treasure.

“Yes, there may be some hot water.” My father’d rigged solar hot water for the shower and kitchen. The collectors were on the roof of the shed and, so far, hadn’t been damaged. The original builder had sunk a well to supply the shelter. My father had hooked the pump up to a windmill just like the local ranchers had used. Almost all the comforts of home.

“Who fucking cares? Derek, it’s a real shower.” His voice dropped to a husky tone. “Big enough for two.”

A soft chuckle came from the kitchen area. When had he left my bed? They moved so quietly I had trouble tracking them. I wondered if they’d put bells on for me?

A moment later I nearly fell out of my chair when a clawed hand caressed across my head. I couldn’t help the yelp of surprise. Bells, they needed bells.

His hand slipped lower and tightened on my neck like maybe he thought I would run. “You are a jumpy thing, Pretty.”

Shit, just because they hadn’t hurt me yet didn’t mean they wouldn’t. What the hell had I been thinking? Was I really that lonely?

Yes. Yes I was. Not that I had a choice, anyway.

“Sorry, normally I can hear people coming but you’re so quiet. I… I thought you were across the room.”

He chuckled and petted my hair. “We’re going to get clean. I’d hate to have to chase you down when we’re done. Only prey runs. You don’t want to be prey.” I snorted. “Like I’m going to stumble around until I fall and kill myself or run into something that wants to eat me.”

Both guys snickered. Derek gave my head one last stroke. “Good.”

“Um, get wet, shut the water off while you wash, then rinse. There’s not much hot water. Later I’ll show you how to wash your clothes and set up the line for drying them.” The bathroom had one of those huge, industrial type sinks, great for washing clothes.

“Cool!” Jay’s voice grew fainter.

“Jay, I’m thinking we should move our den here.” Derek’s voice moved away toward the shower.

The reply was muffled by the door but I caught a, “Hell, yeah,” from Jay.

Great. They were moving in, and they didn’t even know my name! Although who could really object to being called Pretty?

They were moving in. I wouldn’t be alone anymore.

A cold hand squeezed my heart. Unless they kicked me out so they wouldn’t be saddled with a blind woman. I tiptoed closer to the bathroom so I could listen in. They seemed so different from what I expected.

Laughter wafted through the door. Pressing my ear against the door, I listened.

“Didn’t you catch that not-so-subtle hint? Our clothes smell worse than we do, dude.”

Laughter still in his voice, Derek replied, “That doesn’t mean you should wear them in the shower!”

Laughing, gentle monsters? How had the changed men gotten such a bad reputation? Just the media playing it up until we all believed? At first they’d been

rounded up into quarantine camps. Later, it was shoot on sight. Maybe that had something to do with their aggressive behavior.

Or people acting like prey. They’d made a big deal out of me not being prey. I shook my head, feeling confused by what I thought I knew and how these two acted. I needed to know what to expect if I was going to live with them. If I was going to convince them to let me stay.

I heard the shower door close and the moans of pleasure from someone who hadn’t had the luxury of even a cold shower in a long time. Was that their clothes dropping? The water stopped after a short while. I could hear bodies moving, I thought, and soft moans or sighs like someone was really enjoying getting clean.

Unggg
! Derek, shit, yeah!”

I blushed. Those moans weren’t all about enjoying a good shower!

Sexy growls and moans wafted through the door. I could only imagine them rubbing those hard bodies together. I bit back a moan of my own. My heart thudded in time with the pulse in my pussy. I’d never felt this horny in my life! And I didn’t even know these guys. I guess isolation does strange things to a person.

“Fuck me! Quit playing, Derek, fuck me already.” Jay’s deep breathless voice sent waves of lust rolling through me.

Derek’s growl answered and then moans, grunts, growls and whines followed.

The shower rattled when someone hit the door so hard I thought it might break. Thank God the other three sides were concrete.

Unggn
, yes, harder!” Jay seemed quite the talker. “
Ahgggh
!” I recognized that sound. He’d made the same noise when he came for me.

A deep grunt, and Derek’s howl followed. My pussy throbbed, wanting a piece of that action. “Stop it, Mei. Just get a grip,” I whispered to myself. The last thing I should be doing is lusting after strangers, much less two young bucks complete with fangs and claws!

Besides, they didn’t seem to need me for sex.

Was that a twinge of disappointment?

I shoved it aside. I had to prove I could do things for them. Prove I was worth keeping. I headed for the kitchen. Even with the limited ingredients at hand, I could cook. Really cook!

* * *

The door creaked softly as it opened. Tilting my head, I listened for any sound they might make. Was that a deep breath inhaled?

“Hmmm, Pretty, what’s that I smell.” Derek couldn’t be more than a couple of feet away.

“Damn, smells really tasty.” Jay was right behind him.

“Just a little jambalaya. We’re out of fresh meat but the canned stuff’s not too bad when you season it up right.” Heat warmed my back, warning me one of them stood behind me.

“There are plates behind you.” I pulled out some silverware and set it across the kitchen counter where we ate. Where Jian and I ate. Used to eat. Grief tightened my chest. I missed her.

Hearing the plates clang on the counter, I reached for them and started serving.

“How do you do that? Find stuff if you can’t see? Avoid running into stuff when you cross the room?”

“I heard you set the plates down and we -- um -- I keep everything in the same place. I memorized where everything is.”

“You miss your sister?”

I nodded.

“It’s hard to live alone, without pack. Why did she leave you?” Derek’s voice came from in front of me.

I sighed. “We needed supplies, and she wanted to hunt for fresh meat. She never came back.” Saying it made it so much more real. She wasn’t ever coming back. I choked back a sob. I had to be strong, show them I was strong.

A hand grabbed mine, holding tight when I jumped back in surprise. A soft warning growl followed.

“S-sorry, you surprised me again.”

“We frighten you?”

“You startled me, is all. You move too quietly, and I’m not used to someone touching me.”

“But we like touching.” Puzzlement filled Jay’s voice.

“You just have to warn me first, make a noise to let me know you’re there.” In truth? After so long with no one around I wasn’t used to it at all. Even if I did crave it.

Get a grip girl, stick to the plan. If they want to touch, get used to it
. I felt a smile curve my lips, remembering earlier. That kind of touching I could get used to in a hurry. “Do you like the jambalaya?”
Please, God, let them like my cooking. Let them want me
.

“Food’s good, but needs more meat.”

“Yeah, we should do some hunting, dude.”

“But not right now. Not with such a pretty thing right here for us.” Heat rose in my face at Derek’s compliment. I heard a scratching sound coming closer, then claw-tipped fingers brushed the back of my hand. That gentle touch sent a tingle up my arm and down deep in my belly. He drew his hand back, and we finished eating mostly in silence.

I could feel their gazes tracking my every movement. At least, I thought I could.

As soon as they’d finished I set about cleaning up.

“Look at all these books. But how do you read them?” Deep voice -- that was Jay

-- and I thought it came from the right.

“I don’t. Those are -- were -- Jian’s. My books are Braille. They’re in the left bookcase.”

As I cleaned I listened to them exploring my burrow. I had to be very still to hear them breathe. They made no sound on the rugs. Now and again, I’d hear a claw tap on the concrete between rugs. They must be barefoot. Were they dressed at all? At least one of them had gotten in the shower with his clothes on so they’d still be wet. A thrill shivered up and down my spine at that thought. For once, I hurried to finish cleaning. I had better things to do, I hoped!

Chapter 3

A couple of scuffed steps warned me one of them was near.

“Hey, Pretty?” Derek spoke right next to me. His hand caressed my head, fingers combing through my hair. “Come show us your bed.” I swallowed hard, suddenly nervous now that the time was here. “What do you want?”

“I want to rub all of me all over all of you.” The earnest emotion in his voice hit me low. Heat coiled tighter in my belly.

A hand settled on my arm. “OK, just, um, it’s been a while.” Could I really do this? Be with two near-total strangers? Could I please them? What if they didn’t really want me? After all, it had sounded like they were a couple when they were in the shower.

Heat closed in from both sides. Hands stroked and guided me to my bed.

Breathlessly, more to himself, I thought, Derek spoke. “Clothes. Mustn’t tear clothes.”

“Or skin, dude. Fragile, so fragile.” Jay joined him in carefully pulling my T-shirt off. One hot, naked chest rubbed my back while hands worked at my jeans. I gasped in a breath as rough hands cupped both breasts. I wasn’t large by any means and rarely bothered with a bra even back when they were plentiful. Heat suffused my face. Were they disappointed I was so small?

Ummm
, Pretty, so soft and yet firm. Perfect!” Derek’s whispered words filled my ears from behind me, as if he could hear my self-doubts. His thumbs toyed with my nipples until they peaked and ached with pleasure.

Jay tugged at my jeans, and I stepped out of them, barely able to follow his tugs with Derek palming my breasts. I shivered under the sheer delight of his touch.

Hands ran up my legs, stroking every inch. My pussy clenched as he reached my inner thighs.

“Ah, Pretty likes that.” I felt the heat of his breath on my pussy just before his face rubbed my pubes. “Shit, so good. Softer than we are, Derek. Ah, shit, the smell of her lust. Dude, it’s potent!”
