“Thomas, it’s been a long time, are you still at war with Richard?” She asks with hope.

“Yes Princess,” He laughs, at her happy expression.

“Brilliant, come, let me introduce you to our friends?”

“Lead the way,” He tells her holding his arm out for us to walk by.

As Dallah walks forward a little, Thomas puts his hand on my back and whispers to me while we walk,

“Has Richard been kind to you?”

“Kind! No, he has not, but I am ok. Now that I have Dallah back at my side, I am happy. Thank you for asking Thomas,” I tell him with a smile, thinking about what I have gone through to be here with Dallah, and how I have changed for the better.

“Will you save a dance for me Zara?” He asks sweetly.

And just as we get to t
he table of pissed off looking Brothers’, Angus, Theo, and Richard, not to mention a steaming Ruk; I face Thomas with a polite smile,

“I’m sorry Thomas, I think I will have my hands full,” I turn back to Ruk with a shy smile.

“He is a lucky man,” He tells me with a smile.

“Come on, I will introduce you,” Dallah tells him, while taking his arm to meet the men.

Ruk walks up to me with a stunning smile as he leans in to kiss my cheek.

“You look stunning Zara, sit with me?” He asks, with a look of passion and longing. I nod my head to him, as my mouth will not produce words. Ruk looks like a god tonight, in dress trousers and a long sleeved white shirt that makes him look even more handsome and shows his muscular torso to perfection.

He sits down on the chair and pulls one out for me, but I sit on his lap instead, surprising him, gazing into his eyes, while I smile seductively at him.

“I told you Zara, you will be the death of me,”

“Let’s have one hell of a ride then,” I tell him with a smirk.

Climbing
off him, to go speak with Angus and Dom, I feel a pair of eyes on me from the dance floor, but when I scan the room, no one jumps out at me, which worry’s me slightly. I have not been hurt for so many days that I’m starting to feel paranoid that someone is out there ready to jump me, but I will show no fear to anyone.

“What is it sweet?” Angus asks me gently, slipping his hand over mine in a comforting gesture.

“I don’t know, just a feeling. Do you want to dance with me?” I ask wanting to change the subject and my worry.

“Yes, come on sweet,” He tells me offering me his hand, which I take with a thank you.

While we dance, we are surrounded by Richard's quests, which piss's Angus off, as he shows by pushing a man away from us and snarling at him in annoyance.

“What’s got into you?”

“I don’t like these men and woman being so near to you sweet.”

“I’m fine Angus. Have you heard from Parrise yet? Do you know when he will be back? I have missed him,” I tell him sadly, I was hoping that he would come back by now. The weirdest thing is that when I think of him now my heart doesn’t pound in my chest, my breath doesn’t hitch; I feel like I could no longer kiss his lips and feel the passion between us.

“The bonding is 4 days away now, so he should be back by then sweet, I hope so anyway,” He tells me with a sweet smile that I return.

“Angus do you mind?” Ruk asks from behind me, and this is when my blood tingles, and my heart races.

“Of course. Sweet I will see you in a moment,” He tells me whilst spinning me into Ruk’s waiting arms.

“Did you do that for me, with the Warlock?” He asks, meaning that I wouldn’t promise Thomas a dance, and made it obvious that my eyes are on another man, being Ruk.

“What would be the correct answer Ruk, I can’t work you out?” I ask him with a light frown.

“I don’t know Zara.” He says shyly while looking away from me.

Pressing myself close to him, I
tiptoe up to whisper to him.

“I’m yours if you want me Ruk. I see the way you look at me; do you see the way I look at you?” I ask him in a sexually charged tone.

“I do,” He says and pulls back to look me in the eye again.

Gently biting on my bottom lip, I look over his chest as desire to have him builds in me.

“Don’t look at me like that in here beautiful, not surrounded by these horny monsters,” He tells me in a sexy rumble.

“Take me to your room so that I can look at you in private then,” I tell him with a mischievous twinkle in my eye. He locks eyes with someone across the room, and a frown appears on his handsome face. Looking over my shoulder to see who it is, I see Den at a table full of women who are all over him.

“What?” I ask Ruk, wondering why his expression and body language has changed so dramatically.

“Den’s not happy with us dancing together.”

“So?” I ask while running my hand down his back to lie on his firm butt.

“He is putting me off, I can’t think straight with him in my head,”

Ruk and the
Brothers’ can speak telepathically to one another. I’m not sure I would like that or not; I would definitely like to listen in to their conversations though. As I look at Ruk, I can see he is talking to Den telepathically by the way he is getting noticeably angry, so putting all my energy to tapping into Ruk’s head, my eyes widen when he speaks but doesn’t move his lips.

Fuck off Den, or I will come over there and fucking eat you!

Oh shit, I can actually hear him! He even sounds sexy in my head.
Suddenly Ruk’s eyes catch mine as his mouth opens slightly.

“Did you just communicate with me telepathically?” He asks sounding thrown off.

If you mean like this then yes, I did,”
I
speak to him telepathically, and a huge smile forms on my face. I cannot believe I did it!

You can only hear me?”

“Yes, now will you tell me something dirty?”
I ask playfully, wanting to see the smile back on his face, which comes back straight away.

“You are so special Zara, how could you even want to think of me in this way,” He asks in a depressed tone.

Taking his face in my hands, I look at him with a smile.

“Ruk, I desire you with my whole being, look around, every woman has devoured you with their eyes. You are perfection, and I have you as my protector, do you know how that makes me feel. I truly feel safe and I can’t look at you without my heart beating rapidly, or my blood tingling with desire,” I tell him needing him to believe in every word that I say.

“What about our chosen ones,” He asks.

“Are they here now?”

“No,” He smiles at me.

“If you want me to stop, I will,” I tell him stressing the importance of it.

“Never,” He tells me with a growl.

Take me to your room then,”
I tell him through my mind.

“Zara, can I speak with you?” Angus asks, standing at our side, breaking the passionate haze Ruk and I were in.

“Yeah, sure,” I tell him waiting for him to speak.

“Not here, somewhere quiet,” He tells me before looking over his shoulder.

“Let’s go outside,” I tell him whilst reluctantly removing myself from Ruk’s strong arms. Taking Angus by the hand, we head out the back doors and into the gardens.

“What’s wrong?” I ask a little panicked, whilst Ruk stands bedside Angus with a frown.

“I overheard Richard telling his men to search for ‘the book’ he said ‘if it isn’t found, rip apart every room in the palace’, we need to get it back sweet,” He tells me in a stressed tone.

“Shit! I need a few more hours just to go over it one last time?” I tell him in a panic.

“It will look suspicious if you leave now and then the book is found. Tell me where it is and I will return it.”

“No! He will think the same of you! I took it, I will put it back.”  I tell him.

“What’s going on?” Dallah appears before me looking anxious.

“Richard knows that someone has the book,” Ruk tells her.

“Damn it. Do you know the words Zara, to perfection?” She asks alarmed.

“Yeah I think so, but I need to have one last look at it,” I say pulling at my hair in frustration.

“Ok, we will go up together, have one last look and then return it. I will get Den to keep Richard occupied, they have been getting on well,” She tells us sadly.

“No way! You two are not going alone! I will come with you,” Ruk tells us stepping forward.

“I will come also,” Angus declares.

“Wait here!” Dallah tells us as she transports herself away.

“How did he know the book was gone? What if he finds me with it? I could put us all in danger.” I tell them in a panic.

“Sweet, it will be fine, we will get it back safely. I know the book belongs to you, but now is not the time. It will be in your hands again one day, I promise,” Angus tells me sweetly, bringing a smile to my face.

“We have one hour, Den is taking Richard out of the ballroom to speak privately. Ruk tell the Brothers’ that we will be back in an hour,” Dallah tells him with authority, now standing at our sides.

Ruk nods his head to Dallah, and after a few moments, he takes our hands with a nod of
his head, telling us that the Brothers’ understand.

When we are all transported to Dallah’s bedroom, I rush over to the bed, throwing the pillows and blankets off in a rush to get my hand inside the mattress to pull out the book.

Holding it in my
shaking hands, I push all my need into it to open on the correct page. Suddenly the book shines brightly in my hands and the pages start to flap, then drop open to the page containing the very spell I need.

Scanning though every word while reading it aloud in my head, Dallah’s gasp stops me in my tracks.

“What! Are they here?” I ask looking at the door.

“Goddess! Sorry, no, carry on. It’s just your eyes, they're glowing a purple color, wow, I have never seen anything like it,” She tells me while looking at me in awe.

Rolling my eyes at her playfully, I gaze at the book again, as I carry on from where I left off.

Ok, let’s go, I got it,” I tell them tapping my head and shutting the book after 50 minutes of standing on the spot reading along with the words at least twenty times.

As we all take hands, we are once again transported by Dallah. Walking through the library with only the moonlight to guide us, I step up to the column of books where I first found it. I want to put it back, but I feel I should keep it with me, it does not belong to Richard, it belongs to me.

“Go on beautiful,” Ruk whispers to me gently, as his chest presses into my back and his familiar scent calming me.

With the comfort of him being so close, it gives me the strength to place the book back on the shelf.

“We need to go, now!” Dallah hisses, throwing her arms swiftly round us, and transporting us away from danger.

Finding ourselves standing with the Brothers’, who look at the four of us with surprised expressions, I look to Dallah questioning her silently.

“Richard’s men were outside the door, and they will be back here any moment, so mingle,” She tells me with a nod of her head, needing me to do as she asks.
