I want him to take back the words, but I refuse to
show how much they bother me.  “Why did you help me today?  You said you would fight against me.”

He shrugs.  “
You needed proper motivation and I wanted to see if your powers had truly manifested.  The stronger you get, the closer the time I must decide what our fate is.”

“I will never love you, nor will I be your lover.”

A wicked gleam is in his eyes now.  “Only time will show the truth of those words.”  With that, he disappears.

Somewhere deep inside me, I can feel how totally screwed I am.
