She blinked fast and angled her face toward Aegis.

Making little circles on her back, Jaxon let his gaze follow hers, locking on Aegis. He lingered, petting Cami and feasting on the sight of
his mate’s powerful body. Now that he knew it was fear for them that set Aegis off, the extreme violence made a whole lot more sense.

H’nai
’s death should bring Aegis closure. The blood mage’s death meant a serious blow to Baldor’s power structure. Peace talks with New Eden might have a chance.

Cami slipped out of his embrace, unfastened the Baldorean’s armor, dropped it, and reached for him.

His heart stuttered, and his throat clogged with girlie-man feelings. He stilled her hands with a hoarse, “Just let me hold you.”

She stepped into his arms, snuggling against him.
A sweet armful of loving woman.

He closed his eyes and inhaled her feast-day wine scent.

Natch, his cock got all excited. He ignored it, determined to enjoy his last moments of life as Cami’s hero, a plan that didn’t include any horny space jock action. He eased his hips away from her round little belly. Busy being honorable and keeping his rampant cock away from her, he made a small mistake. He risked a glance down at his gorgeous mate.

C
ami looked back at him with a whole lot of
do me now, warrior
on her pretty face.

She rubbed against him.

Damn, his noble plan went poof in an unexplained incident of spontaneous combustion. Before he made a move, the warship trembled beneath his feet.

He grabbed her tight.

“Hold on,” Aegis growled.

Right, like
getting a little banged up made any difference when they were going to be blown to cosmic dust.

Aegis glared at him
.

He
widened his stance and gripped the handrail behind Cami, bracketing her hips. At least he didn’t snap off a salute. He might have if the sudden drag of g-force hadn’t vetoed movement.

Miraculously when the strain ended, he was still breathing. Or else he was in the next life and it looked a whole lot like the last one. “Did the station implode?”

Aegis shook his head. “The warship executed a jump.”

“No way.
I’ve jumped lots of times, and it never felt like that.”

“You are correct. I should have
clarified—the warship executed a quantum jump.”

“Right and
I’m in love with a big green guy. Oh wait, I am.”

His
big green mate made another couple of adjustments before striding over to join them. “This craft has special features. Follow me.”

To the end of the universe.

“I am considering my home world, Hakan.”

He
should have guessed the talent exchange was gonna be a two-way thing. Jaxon would have to get used to Aegis picking up his thoughts. “I’ve never been farther than the moons of Anlvia.”

“I’ve never been past New Eden
, but if you two are going to Hakan, then so am I.” Cami tucked her arm through his. “What about Jaxon’s career with the Space Corps? What about your mission to kill Baldoreans?”

“I am reasonably certain we are missing and presumed dead. If neither of you object I would prefer to allow this status to continue. As for Baldoreans, the one I
needed to end is dead. I have no interest in further violence.”

“Not a problem,” Jaxon said.

Cami frowned. “But why not return to New Eden? You’re heroes.”

“Demons are not welcome on New Eden.”

“Stupid warriors.”

“Just ignorant, sweetheart.”
Jaxon winked at Aegis and changed the subject. “How long is it gonna take us to get to Hakan?” Not that he gave a damn if it took the rest of his life.

“We could do it in
a few more jumps.” Aegis took a minute to calculate. “Allowing for an adequate period of acclimation between quantum leaps, we arrive three days from now.”

Chapter Eighteen

Perseus galaxy, on course for Hakan

Three days later, 4402 SG

A couple of days weren’t enough for everything Cami wanted to do with Aegis and Jaxon.
An eternity wouldn’t have been nearly long enough.

When she woke, she l
ay on her side. Still a bit drowsy and too warm, she pushed at the covers. The heavy bedclothes had morphed into a pair of hard male bodies—one pressed to her backside, one tight against her front.

Their breathing continued, slow and even.
Her warriors slept soundly.

Careful, so as not to disturb them, she un
tangled her limbs from their embrace and left in search of a replicator. After quenching her thirst and eating a light snack of fruit and cheese, she wandered to the command center.

The ship’s viewer sparkled with a ceaselessly changing panorama of unfamiliar stars, whispering of new worlds and new possibilities.

She hadn’t run from violence. She’d tackled an elite enemy guard, unarmed, and had survived. A woman capable of killing to protect her mates was strong enough to build a life for herself and a babe. She had no reason to settle for less than everything she wanted.

Aegis and Jaxon
together had given her a glimpse of what she wanted—unconditional love and commitment. She wasn’t going to beg for romantic reassurances. Words she pled for meant nothing.

The stars continued to sparkle,
dwarfing her troubles. She sat for a few moments, drifting through space and time—lost in pretty dreams of love. Foolish fantasies never came true. Whatever her future held, she needed more heated memories to warm her during long nights alone.

She made use of
a luxurious sanitizer, returned to the sleeping quarters where she’d left the lovers, and paused at the portal. Aegis and Jaxon had turned in their sleep. The two warriors were almost the same size. They lay nestled together with Jaxon’s backside only slightly dwarfed by Aegis’s broader shoulders. Although one powerful male wore bronze skin and the other green scales, they matched.

The space where she had lain
was gone. Jealousy clutched her throat making her ashamed, and yet yearning for their total connection.

She would leave them, after t
hey reached Hakan. Until then she soak up every second with her lovers. She nudged, and they parted, letting her to slip back between their heated bodies without disturbing the exhausted mates.

The narrow valley bisecting
Aegis’s torso beckoned her fingers. She traced the hollow from his neck to his protective pocket, losing herself in the smooth texture of his scales. His heady scent teased her closer. She retraced the same path with her mouth, placing small damp kisses along the length of his mid-section.

The seam covering his stalk widened.

She wriggled back to the vee at the base of his throat, intent on blazing the enticing trail once more. This time she would use her tongue and teeth. Her mouth watered for another taste of his melting chocolate essence.

Before she instigated her excellent plan, Aegis
’s dark green eyes opened.

Flexible plans were the most effective. She licked his chest on her way south
.

H
e didn’t stop her, smoothing her unruly hair and then tugging firmly.

The sensation soothed her nerv
ousness and boosted her excitement.

His
scent and taste intensified at his built in protection. The gap widened, exposing his silken tentacles and smooth shaft.

She slipped inside the natural pocket, freeing his aroused s
talk and heavy sac. The underside of his exotic crown oozed fiery chocolate. Her tongue lapped up the intoxicating liquid from beneath his responsive tentacles while she palmed his engorged rod.

The pulsing erection glowed, begging for her caresses. Everything about him had been designed to bring a woman pleasure.

She wrapped the thick shaft with both hands and slid over the vibrating rings, marveling at his magnificence.

Aegis groaned low and deep.

She relaxed her jar, widening her mouth before covering his plush crown and tightening her hold on his arousal.

One of Jaxon’s arms curved around her, pulling her hips hard against the front of his enthusiastic groin.

Cami arched to encourage Jaxon as she swallowed more of Aegis’s essence. “Enough, little one,” Aegis framed her face, gently guiding her away from his erection.

Reluctantly she obeyed, releasing hi
m with a last thorough lick of the delicious underside of his tantalizing crown. She raised her gaze only as far as his mouth and waited for further orders.

He captured her arms, holding them above her head. Aegis caressed her breast with on
e of his rough knuckles, moving at great leisure toward her aching nipple. She shivered, and a needy whimper escaped her suddenly parched lips.

He chuckled. “You please me greatly, little one.”

The rich chocolate essence she’d swallowed so eagerly from his erection raced through her bloodstream, heating her from the inside out. Her already tight breasts swelled further, the tips growing painfully rigid. All the moisture missing from her mouth migrated to her channel, slickening her core with welcome. She wriggled, trying to get nearer.

Jaxon pinned her hips and nipped the curve of her bottom
.

S
he tried to squirm away from the exciting torture with no success. Immobilized between their hard bodies, she was helpless to resist their maddening caresses and so aroused her sex rippled with excitement.

Aegis torment
ed her breasts with agonizingly light touches.

Jaxon licked lazy circles over the
abused cheek he’d nipped.

Neither male showed any sign of
the urgency burning her alive.

She
considered screaming with frustration and parted her lips to do so.

Aegis quit teasing her taut peaks and caught her chin, holding her
in place for a kiss. His long split tongue slid past her opened lips, gliding into her mouth. He probed, teased, and danced over her ordinary human parts with his agile glossa, exploring every millimeter of her inner recess with the absolute confidence of ownership.

Unable to resist
the erotic assault on her senses, she swallowed more of his irresistible chocolate. Soon she couldn’t even remember why consuming his delicious essence wasn’t a fantastic idea.

And then
the burn of desire grew into a bonfire of desperate need.

Cami struggled, trying to slip free of Jaxon’s syn-iron grip.

He responded with another nip on her southern cheek.

She yelped and
he released his hold.

Aegis bent
, using his talented tongue to soothe the tiny wound. Even as he ministered to her injury, healing the hurt, his mouth seared her backside. Every lick, every touch, every breath fanned the flames raging in her very center until she expected momentary incineration.

The tiny rod at the top of her folds pulsed in time with her frantic heartbeat. Fresh moisture flooded her empty sheath. And still she
grew hotter.

Inside the inferno of passion, she
longed for her warriors to love her the way she loved them, wildly, brutally, without reservation—as they made love with each other. Sadly, wanting and having were galaxies apart, and she couldn’t bear to stay in the netherworld of less than total commitment.

Jaxon unwound himself
, rose, and stood beside the sleeping platform. “She’s planning to leave us.”

“Why, little one?” Aegis
pulled away, studying her face.

Emotions closed her throat. Even if she’d known
how to explain, speech was impossible. Her gaze darted between her lovers as she spread her hands in a helpless gesture of apology and a plea for understanding.

“She thinks we don’t love her. Not like
we—”

Aegis moved to Jaxon’s side, watching her warily. “Not like what?”

“Like we love each other.”

Unable to face their pity, Cami dropped her
lashes, peeking at their stony expressions through the fringes.

Aegis’s gaze stayed locked on her while he spoke to Jaxon. “I understood you could not read her thoughts.”

“I can’t. She’s absorbed your damn shield ability. This was something different. Like a future flash.”

A muscle twitched in Aegis’s cheek. “Does Jaxon see true, little one?”

Ashamed of her weakness and utterly miserable, she nodded.

Massive green arms folded across an even more massive chest. “You are correct. I do not love you as I love Jaxon.”

Cami’s heart sank.

In a burst of speed, Aegis captured her chin and forced her to meet his gaze. “Nor do I love you less.” His voice thickened. “You are my hope, my future, my queen. If you ask, I will go where you want, live where you want. Without you I cannot exist.”

Tears filled her eyes. “I love both of you so much.” Her gaze flew to Jaxon, hope trembling on her lips.

“Your doubt is killing me, sweetheart.” Jaxon pounded his chest with a massive fist. “You’re here, in my blood, in my breath, in every beat of my heart.” His voice roughened. “I adore you.”

“Then don’t hold back making love with me,” she challenged them.

The warriors exchanged another of their unreadable looks. Before she had a chance to wonder what they would do, she was hauled roughly to her feet and tucked between the males. Two monstrous cocks pressed against her fore and aft. Hard male bodies wedged her with no quarter given
.

She reached back and sank her nails into Jaxon’s buttocks. Still she needed more. She bit the thick pad of Aegis’s chest.

Aegis teased the mouth of her sex. Silken tentacles rippled against the eager entrance to her core. Jaxon reached between her legs, spreading liquid arousal from her gushing sex to her back passage.

Behind her, the smooth crown of Jaxon’s cock pressed hot and wet,
taunting the nerve-rich opening to her rear channel. At the same time, Aegis notched his heavy shaft into her sheath.

They surged together,
stretching her, filling her, loving her.

Her
feminine walls fluttered and gushed to the chorused groans of the warrior’s raw pleasure. Every muscle in her body tightened, including the delicate inner rings massaging the invaders stroking into her channels—battering her heart and soul into utter surrender.

Waves of rapture washed over her, bathing her in bliss.

When she regained awareness, she drifted in the aftermath of total fulfillment, the hot rush of Jaxon’s release blasted deep inside her rear entry. The breath-stealing joy of his satisfaction roused tissues she thought utterly replete. Her sheath fluttered, as his climax swept her over the edge with him.

S
till quaking from her last unexpected orgasm, Aegis thrust into her once more with a roar of ecstasy as he erupted, pulling another hot spurt from Jaxon’s still-hard shaft. Aegis’s seed pulsed, healing the tiny fissures and burns from their brutal possession. Then his ultimate release, a tingling rush of pure joy, rippled through her, flooding her core.

Her limp body arch
ed and soared, in response. Jolts of erotic pleasure strained every receptor as she flew with her lovers beyond the stars.

Her senses gradually
returned from the stunning third orgasm, still joined with the males in mind and body. “I’m inside your shield.”

“Yes, beloved,”
echoed in her mind. Aegis and Jaxon’s thoughts were a mix of smug male pride, gentle caring, and unabashed passion.

Their thoughts confirmed they
’d held back when making love not because they loved her any less, but because they cherished her fragile body. This understanding their true reason made a galaxy of difference.

Sheer
awe bubbled in her heart—a never ending fountain of love and delight.
