Chihuahua of the Baskervilles (29 page)

Michael was dancing around the restaurant, still punching the air and whispering, “Yes! Yes!”

“Sit down, Michael,” Angus said. “You’re disturbing the other diners.”

Michael plopped down in his chair. “I’m putting a link to my Web page on the magazine’s site, tonight.”

“That’s fine, as long as your page doesn’t reflect badly on
Tripping
in any way,” Angus said.

“Might have to make the blog private,” Michael muttered.

Suki used her straw to poke at the ice in her cup. “What’s the name of Ivan’s TV show? You didn’t say.”

Angus tucked the article back in his pocket. “Given that it stars doggy fashion divas, I think they came up with the only name possible. They’re calling it
Bitches
.”

Ghostly Dog Walks!

Charlotte Baskerville’s dog refuses to lie down, even though he’s dead.

Shortly before All Hallows’ Eve in the mountain town of Manitou Springs, Colorado, the spectral form of Charlotte’s dead Chihuahua appeared to his beloved mistress.

“I was lying in bed when I heard Petey’s unmistakable howl,” Charlotte Baskerville (69) remembers. “I rushed to the window and looked out into the backyard. In the cold and dark, I saw the glowing form of a Chihuahua, floating across the lawn. I thought I must be dreaming.”

But it was no dream. Before Charlotte’s astonished gaze, the ghostly apparition floated onto the roof of an old stone hut, remnant of the town’s historic past. She ran outside, but Petey had disappeared into thin air. For the moment, only one thing remained—a set of glowing paw prints in the damp earth.
