Conclusion:
How It All Began

People tell me I’m humble.
Mostly, I’m a spiritual person whose kindly, tenacious drive and success were inspired by my own devastating skin problems and the terminal illness of my late father. It really all started from there. Hard Work + Courage + Creating an Opportunity = Success. We all have questions, concerns, and secrets about our skin, health, and how to look our best. Hopefully, yours have now been addressed through correcting the challenged areas rather than camouflaging them. But you must remember that you are beautiful, period. This book is just a vehicle to help bring out what is already within you: the even more gorgeous you!

I also know what it feels like to desperately want to improve one’s life but not have the financial resources to do so. I grew up of humble means and had to work—a lot, at age fourteen—to even afford my first Neutrogena cleanser, which is so ironic, because I later went on to launch the Neutrogena Men’s line (and many other popular products for Johnson & Johnson). Years later, when some money did start coming in from my businesses, I continued to educate myself on how I could empower my skin and not just rely on a bottle of cream, lotions, pills, or potions to do the job for me. I also put myself back into school to become an esthetician so I could understand all sides of the process from the creation of products to the development of protocols (how to use certain ingredients in a series or process), and then I worked with endocrinologists to understand how to best deliver nutrients to the body. I went through all this so I could help my father, myself, and you. I wanted to learn how to heal my skin from the inside out.

Cooking Your Way to Gorgeous
is the answer to great skin and improved health, cooking with everyday items and getting the most out of comfort food—with a kick. And now you are a pioneer of this information, too, knowing that, for example,
camu camu
is the next superfood
,
and that
red palm oil
can power your skin to gorgeous. Innovative health and beauty eating ideas
can
come from uncomplicated recipes where good-tasting food is never sacrificed. It’s all about great taste with healthier options. Tell a friend! (P.S.
If salt and pepper were the common flavor add-ins in your everyday cooking, notice how this book has turned you on to the health-promoting benefits of numerous spices that can kick up the flavor quotient and benefit skin, too.)

Like you, I will gladly try most any food if I think it may improve my skin. I am a beauty foodie™, but what I eat has to taste good or I simply can’t follow through. I know you want to do it all but have limited time, and, now that you have learned how to improve your diet without losing the foods you love, you can really change your life from the inside out! A beautiful change is the best kind of change we can ask for.

If you have learned a thing, or three, from
Cooking Your Way to Gorgeous
, then I feel confident that my work has been done. But since there’s always more to do, I am now hard at work on my next book,
Scott-Vincent Borba’s Great Starts.

Lastly, I want to thank you for all your love and support. Being a pioneer is lonely work and most times fraught with challenges. Without you, I wouldn’t have made it this far, and, from the bottom of my heart, I sincerely thank you for that. Every day, I make it a point to do something good for someone else. Today I pass that baton to you. Live a beautiful, spiritual life, and share a loving recipe from me with a friend or family member. When they know you are thinking about them and trying to help them live a better, healthier life, it’s one of the best feelings in the world.

God bless and besos to you!
