Oh, Alyss
...
once fire now ice, aren

t you the most sensually erotic dream one could ever have?

She moves just inches from me now, slowly
licking her lips before saying,

I can make dreams come true.

David

s coughing voice floats into the air as his hand tries to muffle his voice,

You could come over here and make my dreams come true.

Chandelle shifts instantly, it takes me a second to realize where she went.  Standing in front of David, she runs her hand up his shirt slowly, teasingly, and then just as fast as her shift, she grabs a fist full of his shirt and jerks it hard, making him come closer whether he wants to or not.  David wants to, that

s apparent with his enthusiastic participation as she kisses him hard and dirty.

Nobody in the pit has moved since I peeked last time. They are all still in a state of shock.  David and Chandelle start heating up the area quickly.  David

s hands begin flaming, moving his hands up her back, and then Chandelle shifts away.  Looking completely devastated as David looks at his now empty hands.

Megan, Lisa
,
and I glance at each other with our knowing look.  David is just too easy, Chandelle loves a challenge.

I see Lisa

s face become
suddenly serious.  Chandelle is next to Marc.
Okay
, now my blood freezes.  I cautiously, slide off the hood of my car.  Marc still has his arms crossed and observes her with a predators glare, even as she prowls seductively around him.  Checking all of him out, she moves like a panther toying as she hunts.  It

s like she

s done this a million times.

Reaching out to touch Marc

s arm she hesitates then suddenly moves her hand back quickly as if her fingertips suffer from a jolt of electricity.  She studies him, making eye contact and then raises her nose up catching a scent that entices her alluring arousal even more.

Her inner felineness must be scratchin
g mad now as she turns and stalks
dire
ctly toward
me.  I

m thinking that things are going to get more bewitching.   As I look at her eyes they shift into cat eyes, the dark pupils turn into small slits and the green iris becomes even more filled out.  She flashes her eyes
twice;
I guess she is making sure I don

t miss a beat.  She tilts my chin up with her dangerous golden claws and purrs.

Why, love, you

r
e
bound
.

S
he
giv
es
me a pertinacious pout.  She releases my chin and slowly struts down the side of my car, dragging her nail along the body of it.

Ok
ay
, I

m done holding back any longer.  I shift in front of her grabbing her hand and moving it away. I

m not a fan of running your nails down a chalkboard and I

m definitely not a fan of her screeching her claws down my car.  Her eyes are still catlike, watchful and malevolent as she looks at me, grinning tenaciously.

Give me a ride, Alyssa.

  I feel this wave
of intense
heat, then she shifts, no silvery mist, no smoke, nothing at all. Then without warning, she is standing next to my passenger door, her hand on the door handle.  Before she can open it, I shift in front of her blocking the door by putting my hip on it with my arms crossed.
Giving her an amusing half grin, I
flash my own icy blues at her.

Nope
.

I wave an icy hand towards her,

Move it, Chandelle.

She smirks and slowly starts turning around moving her body evocatively, then shifts again.

I have my hands in tight fists now, she is bound and utterly determined to get in my car, and I know a simple

no

isn

t going to do the trick.  I pick up on her essence enough now that I can sense where she will shift next,
just follow the trail of heat
, I chant to myself.

I catch her again in front of the
driver

s
door. We both give each other Cheshire cat grins and shift almost together.  I have to wait to sense her ambitious natural essence and then I can shift after her.  This game of tag continues on for a couple of minutes. We look like streaks of white light flashing across the car, from one side of the
Shelby
to the other.  Chandelle can shift faster than me, but only by just a fraction of a second.

I know what her game is, and she is playing the cat part, and I am most definitely becoming the mouse.  I see the driver

s side door beginning to open as I am shifting, in mid shift, I think
She is getting ready to slide into the drivers seat,
so I double my time and land in my driver

s seat...but Chandelle is now straddling my lap facing me and smiling with approval.  She places her arms on either side of me, she whispers,

Got
cha
.

Marc shifts next to my door, but before he can do or say anything,
Dad
is standing right behind him with an amused expression, as he has one brow raised lightly.

Alyss, this is certainly a new way to prepare for a race.

I lean my head back, resting it on the seat and think with a sigh of relief,
w
hy didn

t he get here earlier, then I wouldn

t have to endure the tango with Ms. Seductress, which I know that she is always in heat apparently,
I once assumed that when she ages more her demeanor would change, she

s somewhere around twenty five now, if I remembered correctly and she is still the exact same way I remember her.

Chandelle jumps immediately out of my lap and makes her way so innocently to shake my father

s hand,

Lord Worthington, it is always an honor to be in your presence, my grandmamma, sends her best to you.

My dad replies in an aloof manner,

Ms. Heavans I

m glad to see your passion for life hasn

t diminished, and please return my best wishes to your grandmamma Velain.

Chandelle nods then looks over her shoulder in m
y direction.

You really do have a beautiful daughter
,

s
he announces

He smiles at Chandelle
, but
speaks to me,

Time to go, on the line in two minutes
,

he
says as he
tosses me my helmet.

Chapter 39

I buckle in and everyone clears out, Marc leans in and kisses me.

You

re all set, right?

Yeah
, except for my protection spell
,

I
say as I fire up the motor.

The what?

He
yells.

Never mind, I

m fine,

I answer back.

Okay, good luck!
And
maybe later you can explain to me what
that
was all about.

I follow my dad

s C
orvette to the main track.  He soon turns to the left into the line for the eight second rankings.  My ranking lane is about twenty cars behind, the track officials are giving out the final instructions to each driver.

As I check everything inside, I glance at all the ads, and the different sponsor logo banners along the chain link fencing.  The main billboard that is plastered everywhere, down the fencing, the walls
,
and of course the tower itself is in big bold red letters
,

Night of Fire

I think
,
n
ow why does the fire get all the credit, why can

t we find some cool logo for ice,
laughing inside when a track director starts waving me to pull up in line.  He shifts next to me, testing the headset
to see if I
have communications.  I slide my helm
et back on and he points toward
the burnout area.  As I move up I can see just how big this place really is.  It

s massive, they have
three times
the stands that
we have at
our raceway
,
and their tower sits off to the side and not right in the center of the track.  More banners and signs line the walls and safety barriers of the race track.

I look around at all the
spectators;
there are well over a thousand witches here.  I don

t think I

ve ever seen this many of our kind in one place before, it is amazing.

I can hear a faint sound of music, but not well enough to identify what song or anything like that. Before the cars pull into the burnout area, pictures are taken of each and every car.  I also notice some of the officials are taking live video.  I assume it is to make sure everything is legitimate.

Cars are burning out and the smoke comes rolling in all directions.  Alright, round one of qualifying is starting.  A solid black 1971 Chevelle is in line right in front of me, it reminds me a lot of David

s Chevelle.  Next to his car is a 2009 tangerine orange Pontiac GTO.  I glance over to see what I

m up against and realize it

s an exact rep
lica of a car right out of the Fast and F
urious movies, baby blue with the same silver graphic 1994 Acura Integra.

I want to lift the visor on my helmet to see
if Mia
Toretto is driving it.  I look over my gauges once more, tighten the strap on my helmet, and tell myself it

s time for a little...
adrenaline rush.

One of my favorite songs start
s
playing through my mind and then I can swear I hear it playing from the tower as well,

Hey, Hey
, by the Super
chicks
,

is the song

An official

s voice interrupts my singing, his voice rings loud a
nd clear through my ear
piece.

Prepare for the burn out area.

I follow up to the water box and wait for them to give me the signal.  The official nods at me, running my
Shelby
over the water I start smoking my tires, the sound of the motor revving and the smell of tires burning
are
exhilarating.

Once I can

t see anything in front of me, I move forward to the starting line.  Within seconds the Acura is beside me and the announcer begins instructing us as to what we

re doing
in
this round.

An electronic devise box located directly above the stage light will show you a
time;
both cars will have to go faster than the
times that you see come
up.  If you don

t match the time then you are disqualified.  I grip my steering wheel with one hand and tightly grip my
shifter with the other.
Talk about having a little pressure on ya.  This means I can

t make any mistakes, no leaving the line too early or too late, if so
,
I just may find myself becoming a spectator here.  Well that is not what I came here for, so
let

s
do this
.
