Cut Cords of Attachment (13 page)

When I did this technique, I felt “Fuzzy and tight.” That wasn’t seeing anything, was it? Did I do okay?

You did the technique great. “See It, Read It” is a technique for aura reading. That means, a way to get information. When you follow the steps, everything that happens counts as information.

In this case, think about what “Fuzzy” might mean about how effectively you are communicating now with strangers. Consider how “Tight” applies to the process of speaking up for yourself. Well, hello!

All I got was an image, an apple with a slight dent near the top. How do I find out what that means?

Close your eyes. Take a long, slow breath to calm down. Open your eyes and pick something, using your common sense.

Okay, to me the meaning is that I do pretty well at communicating with strangers but I have a dent of insecurity that limits me. Is that good enough?

Definitely. Trust yourself.

But what if I don’t know for sure what an image means? Shouldn’t I ask someone else to interpret for me?

Never. Not unless you want another person to cut a cord of attachment for you, too. Reading auras is part of cord cutting. And you are not going to start cutting your most major cords but, rather, your most minor ones, right? In that way your skill and confidence can progress.

Just choose something for your interpretation, doing this Before Picture. After you stop giving yourself a hard time, the wisdom will flow freely. Allow yourself to move into a state of flow when you do any of the 12 Steps to Cut Cords of Attachment.

What if I keep doubting myself?

During the technique itself, as needed, vanquish doubt by taking three extra Vibe-Raising Breaths. Then return to normal breathing and continue with the technique.

In general, don’t worry about doubts. That’s part of the learning process.

Courageous Explorer, it builds character, reading your aura and trusting the information. The rewards will be great. Just keep going and, with more experience, everything will become easier.

Prepare for a Full Before Picture with “See It, Read It”

At Step 3 to Cut Cords of Attachment, you may prefer to use “See It Read It.”

For a Before-and-After Picture, you will need to choose three chakra databanks to research. Make a list, and not just in your memory but written down clearly. That way you can take a quick look as needed and locate the info without having to sort through anything extra.

If you like, you could keep things simple by always using the following three chakra databanks.

1. SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA—Location: The ribcage in front of your body

Body part: Your upper abdominal area, where you have ribs on either side and a soft area in the center of your body

For this technique: Practice seeing your mid-section as you look in the mirror.

Chakra Databank: Handling Conflict

  • Conflict is part of human life, not your personal shortcoming. “Handling Conflict” means dealing with difficult situations, both subjectively and with speech and action.
  • Like any chakra databank, aura reading reveals
    qualities
about how you are doing in this aspect of life. Also available is insight into the
    process,
e.g., In this case, how comfortable are you with handling conflict? Do you tend to avoid it?
  • Don’t stop now to answer these question with your conscious mind. Courageous Explorer, aura reading research will provide truthful information from your subconscious mind, which will be far more useful for depth healing.

2. THROAT CHAKRA—Location: Your neck in front of your body

Body part: Your neck in front of your body

For this technique: Practice seeing your neck as you look in the mirror.

Chakra Databank: Communication in Close Relationships

  • “Communication” means your ability to ask for what you need and want, or to discuss other topics of conversation.
  • “Close Relationships” mean high stakes for certain types of communication because you might have a lot invested in this non-disposable type of relationship. How freely do you speak, and how close are you willing to get?
  • Do you feel comfortable sharing information that might expose some personal vulnerability?

3. THIRD EYE CHAKRA—Location: Between and above the eyebrows

Body part: Your forehead.

For this technique: Practice seeing your forehead as you look in the mirror.

Chakra Databank: Spiritual Self-Authority

  • “Self-Authority” means trusting your spontaneous thoughts, emotions, reactions, new ideas, opinions, what seems true to you.
  • “Spiritual Self-Authority” means trusting information received when you are reading auras, deciding about religious obligations, designing your unique spiritual path and doing it your way, and more.
  • This chakra databank brings perspective on the degree to which you use spiritual self-authority and how much you tend to trust it, here and now.

TECHNIQUE: Complete a Before Picture with “See It, Read It”

Here you go, Courageous Explorer. Position yourself in front of a full-length mirror. Place writing supplies within easy reach, plus your list of three chakra databanks to research. Read through the following instructions, then do them step by step.

1. Close your eyes. Do the
“Get Big”
technique. Think the name, once, of your Divine Being of choice. Know that you are connected in consciousness.

2. Think your
intention,
like “I choose to gain more wisdom about myself.”

3. Choose one chakra databank from your list to research.

4. Figure out which body part corresponds to your chosen databank.( In the case of our first example, the body part would be your mid-section.) Open your eyes and look at the relevant body part.

5. Start
“Questioning”
while you look. Ask inside, “What is going on with [the name of the chakra databank].

6. Close your eyes. Release the question with two Vibe-Raising Breaths. Then return to normal breathing.

7. After 10-20 seconds, notice what you have been experiencing. All this counts as information about the chakra databank being researched. Put your perceptions into words. Write it down, quick and sloppy.

8. For the second part of your three-part Before Picture, repeat Steps 1-7. Research a second chakra databank this time.

9. For the final part of your three-part Before Picture, research a third chakra databank this time. Repeat Steps 1-7.

10. Close your eyes and gloat for a while. At a minimum, congratulate yourself on completing the perception part of this technique. Open your eyes.

11. Look over what you just wrote.
Interpret
what each perception could mean about the chakra databank you were reading. Write down your interpretations, of course. It counts as your Before Picture.

Later, when you do an After Picture, you will be researching the very same chakra databanks, employing the very same aura reading technique. Now, go on to Step 4 of the 12 Steps to Cut Cords of Attachment.

A Touch-Based Technique for Reading Auras

Courageous Explorer, I have saved my favorite technique for last. It may not be your fave, though. That depends on your personal Gift Set.

Give this one a chance anyway, just for fun. Because the more you practice with different aura reading techniques, the faster your confidence will grow. You will realize which technique(s) you prefer, based on experience and self-authority—both of which will help you to excel at cord cutting.

“Touch It, Read It” involves connecting to an aura through a refined version of touch, rather than the refined seeing of the “See It, Read It” technique. Instead of both eyes, you will use one hand.

But which one? I call that your
HAND OF PREFERENCE.
Here’s how to find it.

TECHNIQUE: Locate Your Hand of Preference

Sometimes you will read auras by using one hand as a tool. I recommend that you use your Hand of Preference.

To discover which hand this is, interlace your fingers—that kind of hand clasp where you sandwich your fingers together, one digit on top of the next.

Whichever thumb is on top, that counts as your
Power Hand.
Not your
Hand of Preference
for our aura reading technique, but you’re close. Choose the thumb underneath... and the whole hand attached to it. That one is your Hand of Preference.

Whenever you are going to use one hand to do an aura reading, use that Hand of Preference. Information will be clearer than if you were to use the other hand.

Skeptical? Then experiment with that Hand of Preference a few times. Later, give yourself a few times using your other hand. Sort out for yourself which you prefer to use.

Just don’t ever test yourself by doing the same technique twice on the same chakra databank, comparing the information you get with each hand. Testing is a way to block your development, remember?

Doing
complete
research experiments with one hand rather than the other is fine until you decide on one Hand of Preference. My students usually find that one hand is way better than the other for taking in data from auras. My advice? Even if you don’t strongly prefer one hand after the first few experiments, arbitrarily pick one and stick with that choice.

TECHNIQUE: Positioning your Hand for “Touch It, Read It”

Now you can practice the physical position for doing research. This isn’t
doing
the research, just a rehearsal about where to place your hand physically.

For researching a chakra databank, there will always be a location. You’re used to that by now! For this first experiment, you will be researching a Heart Chakra Databank. So hold your Hand of Preference sideways at breastbone level, about four inches in front of your body, elbow out to the side.

Probably that elbow position was your spontaneous choice. Still, sometimes a student tries an awkward alternative, like forcing the forearm upwards and bending hard at the wrist. Please, always make things easy for yourself when reading auras. (Save making things extra-complicated for some other skill set; cutting cords of attachment is already quite technical enough.)

As you hold your hand sideways, palm toward your body, keep your fingers close together, as if wearing a mitten. Let your thumb relax and lie pretty flat, too, as if you the mitten you were wearing had only one central part, no extra part for the thumb.

Incidentally, hitch-hiking is an entirely different technique!

Practice this hand position until comfortable with it. Whatever the location of a chakra databank, place the palm of your hand about four inches out from your body, centered toward the middle of your body, with the elbow out and a comfortable way of angling your wrist.

After you have practiced many times, doing a Before Picture with yourself, you can start to practice with your friendly client. Practice the physical positioning of your hand, just as you would with yourself. Soon it’s no big deal. And since you don’t make this non-physical touch a big deal, neither will your client.

Okay, after you have done practice with that Primary Sensor Hand, allow it to drop down onto your lap or wherever is comfortable. Either you will have your hand in “Research Position” (which you just practiced) or you won’t. Because either you will be doing a technique or else you’re just back to normal, being a regular human individual.

Choose Your First Chakra Databank to Read this New Way

Which chakra databank will you research next? I recommend the Heart Chakra Databank for Emotional Receiving.

What can you learn from it?

  • “Emotional Receiving” means your current pattern, here and now, for opening up to receive love, caring, attention.
  • Your degree of openness might be different with strangers, business associates, buddies, or close friends.
  • How about your ability to
    not
receive emotional harshness, dislike, criticism from others?

As with any chakra databank, its current status is the point of your Before or After Picture Research.

What will the result be, this time, with your Before Picture? Let’s find out, Courageous Explorer.

TECHNIQUE Explore Reading Auras with “Touch It, Read It”

Get your writing materials handy. Read through all the directions in advance, then go step-by-step. Here comes another right-sized adventure! For this practice, you will be researching the Heart Chakra Databank for Emotional Receiving.

1. Close your eyes. Do the
“Get Big”
technique. Know that you are connected in consciousness.

2. Think your intention, like “More wisdom.”

3. You will research one chakra databank at a time, using your Hand of Preference, palm about four inches in front of your body, at the place corresponding to your chosen databank. Leave your hand there and know that you won’t need to
feel
anything in your hand in order for you to get information. The palm of your hand is simply a conduit. Information will flow
through
your hand.

4. Begin the
“Questioning”
technique while your hand is in place. Ask inside, “What is going on now with [the name of the chakra databank]?” (In this example, ask, “What is going on now with my emotional receiving?”)

5. Close your eyes after you ask the question. Let your hand drop. Release the question with two or three Vibe-Raising Breaths. Then return to normal breathing.

6. Whatever you experience right now counts as information. After 10-20 seconds, put this into words. Write it down quickly.

7. Close your eyes and congratulate yourself on having done well. The perception part of this technique is complete, Courageous Explorer!

8. Open your eyes and interpret your perception. Write that down. It’s your Before Picture.

Later, when you do an After Picture, you will be researching the same chakra databank, employing the same aura reading technique. Only it’s good to use three chakra databanks for the Before-and-After Picture. This time, you were practicing a new technique for the first time, so let’s pause for Q&A.
