Hygiene With Crystals
Will you use a dedicated crystal to cut cords of attachment? Then keep it clean. Otherwise you are definitely better off using only your hands.
Pain, fear, any of the qualities in the cord that you cut can temporarily penetrate a laser wand. It’s the auric equivalent of a scalpel being plunged into some bleeding organ. Just because you don’t see the grime with your naked eyes, could it still be there?

It would have given me a clue, if only I had been paying attention. My crush, David R., was a good man but not someone who would bring me happiness as a husband. The first present he gave me was a lovely necklace with a crystal heart. Within 24 hours, it smashed.

“Why not?” I asked.
“Both the diamonds are cracked.”
Yes, diamonds do have a reputation for being hard. But, like any precious or semi-precious gems, diamonds will store the wearer’s vibrations. During my marriage to David, I didn’t know this. Never, once, did I clean my ring energetically. Enough emotional pain accumulated to crack both diamonds. Surely that lesson about cleansing crystals was worth the price of a ring.
Three Good Ways to Clean Your Crystals
For Crystal Cleaning Devices, here are three good choices:
A purple plate is a thin piece of specially treated, magenta-colored metal. These plates are said to emit positive energy that vibrationally affects any objects placed upon them. Purple plates range in size from rectangles the size of a file card to 12-inch squares. Developed from the work of Nikola Tesla by the late Ralph Bergstresser, these plates are wonderfully portable. If your local rock shop doesn’t carry them, you can find them online by searching for “purple plate.”
A crystal cluster is a natural quartz crystal that contains several different points joined at one base. These are natural washing machines for smaller crystals, and will be completely self-cleansing. Once you program your crystal cluster, it will cleanse anything that you place upon it. (An amethyst cluster will do this in purple-tuity.)
Or you can give your stones a salt bath. Dedicate a non-reactive container to this use, e.g., a ceramic, glass, or plastic bowl. Ideally the container will have a wide opening at the top. Fill your container with dry sea salt or kosher salt, either of which can be reused indefinitely. Gently bury your crystals and precious stones in the salt, with the most fragile parts uppermost.
TECHNIQUE: Cleanse Your Tools To Cut Cords
1. Treat your tools for cutting cords of attachment as the special instruments they are. Keep them out of reach, so nobody can casually touch them.
2. Buy or make a Crystal Cleaning Device: a purple plate, crystal cluster or salt bath. Keep it available in a convenient location.

To buy a crystal without programming it afterwards is like moving a grand piano into your living room without ever playing a scale. Such a waste, especially when programming a crystal is so simple!
You will definitely want to program your laser wand, plus any agate slices dedicated to cord cutting. If you wear jewelry with precious or semi-precious stones, why not program that as well? Both precious and semi-precious stones can be programmed. They might become even more precious.
TECHNIQUE: Program Any Crystal
Sure you can do this.
1. To prepare for your programming ceremony, collect all the crystals and jewelry you wish to program, the more the merrier. Use a purple plate, crystal cluster, or salt bath to clean them up.
2. Find a room with a door to serve as your sacred chamber for this ceremony. No pets are allowed within, not even your favorite gerbil. Do whatever you feel is needed to create a sacred space, whether burning a candle or incense or simply saying out loud, “Be here actively, Spiritual Source, to witness this ceremony.”
3. Choose the program for each item.
4. Do the “Get Big” technique. If other facets of your work involve guides or angels, invite them to participate as well.
5. Set the intention “To program these stones.”
6. Hold in your hand one object at a time, be it a crystal, a piece of jewelry, or a decorative stone. Announce the program aloud. Allow a moment for it to stabilize within the object you are holding. Done! (Repeat this sequence until you have programmed the whole batch.)
7. Thank God and all the Divine and celestial beings who have helped you. Each program installed will replay permanently... until and unless you do another ceremony to reprogram.
What constitutes suitable programming for a crystal? Choose how you would like it to subtly alter your vibrations. Your program could be a wish, an affirmation or a specialty. For instance:
TECHNIQUE: Special Protection While You Cut
Right before cutting any cord of attachment, ask the Divine Being in charge to protect you with golden light so that nothing from the cord being removed will enter into your aura. Energetically you have the right to remain free and clear.
1. To claim that right, just request that a golden light of protection will cover you while you cut the cord of attachment.

Yet the light also covers my face, my feet, all of me, which might look a tad weird in a typical hospital. Luckily, I’m in my office; and nobody’s likely to notice that gold coat but me and any Divine Beings helping out.
