Pulling back, he stares down at me, a look of pure hunger in his eyes. “Tell me what you want,” he whispers against my lips.

“I want you to touch me.” The words escape my mouth a mere breath.

Gently, he drags one finger along my slit, a growl erupting from his lips. “You’re so fuckin’ wet,” he says in a low voice.

As he runs his fingers across my wetness again, my mouth falling open as a moan escapes from deep within my throat as his lips make their descent down my body. Gripping my hips, he spreads my legs wide before burying his face between my thighs, causing me to cry out in pure ecstasy at the first flick of his tongue.

“Oh, God!” I groan as he begins lapping up my juices, working me up and down with his skilled tongue before driving it inside of me. Grabbing hold of his hair, I yank hard, pulling him closer to me as I rock my hips against his face, my pussy rubbing against the stubble of his jaw. I begin to move faster, my breathing becoming erratic as my release closes in.

Thrusting a single finger inside me, he crooks it, hitting the perfect spot. My moans suddenly become screams of pure pleasure as my orgasm takes hold, my legs quivering as he lavishes my swollen clit.

My chest heaving, Jax lifts his eyes to mine, his lips glistening with my arousal. Slowly, he moves over my body, licking a trail from my pubic bone up to my left breast, circling it slowly before sucking the hardened peak into his mouth.

“My turn,” I whisper as I lift myself into a seated position, reaching down to release his cock from its confines. As I wrap my eager hand around his thickness, he draws in a sharp breath, his eyes rolling back in his head as I begin to stroke him.

Rising onto my knees, I lean down, my tongue savoring the taste of the pearly white droplet clinging to his crown. “No, baby,” he murmurs as he lifts my head away from his throbbing cock. “I need to be inside you.”

Clutching my ass, he pulls me to him until I am hovering over his hardness. Slowly, I lower myself, my mouth falling open as he fills me with his thick, long cock. Using my hands to brace myself against his wide chest, I slowly rise, relishing in the feel of him buried deep inside me, before dropping down hard onto his rigidness again. His strong hands grip my flesh, his fingers digging into my hips as I continue to move, my mind reveling in this moment.

His fingers entangling in my hair, he leans up and place his lips over mine, slipping his tongue into my willing mouth.  Grabbing each side of my face, he moans into my mouth as he rolls me onto my back. “I love you, Alana,” he whispers before slamming into me, his cock rubbing against my clit and filling me at the same time. “I want to hear you scream my name, feel you grip my cock as you come hard,” he groans.

As if on command, I feel my belly tighten. “Oh God!” I cry out.

“That’s it, baby. Come so fuckin’ hard for me,” he growls, pounding into me as we both come undone together.

“W
hat are you thinking?” Jax whispers into my ear, his arms wrapped around me from behind.

“That it’s beautiful,” I say as I turn in his arms.

“Just like you,” he murmurs before his lips gently descend onto mine. A wave of warmth fills me, rushing to every corner of my body. As he pulls away, I see nothing but love in his eyes.

Allowing my gaze to stray from his, I take in all the beauty that surrounds me. Waves crash over the iridescent sand that glitters in the moonlight. The stars in the night sky seem to float in the distance, yet the moon appears to be at arm’s reach. At this very moment, my eyes catch every corner of the landscape below, memorizing every beautiful detail - the breeze blowing from the tide, the waves as they crash into one another, and the fragrance of the salty ocean. It is the perfect end to the perfect week only because he was here with me.

“Eighteen years ago this very night, I met my destiny on a rooftop back in Langley. We lay there for hours, staring up at the stars. I knew that night that I would never be alone as long you were a part of my life.”

I remember that night so vividly, the array of emotions I felt seeming more like a distant memory than reality. I no longer feel alone and afraid. For the first time in my life, my world is complete. “And every year we were apart,” I begin as I look up into his eyes, “I would always look into the night sky and find the brightest star and it would remind me of you.”

“But you weren’t just a star to me, Alana. You were the whole damn sky. The darkness and the light,” he whispers as he pulls me to him, holding on to me so tightly as if he thinks I will suddenly disappear.

Taking in a deep breath I reluctantly pull away, smiling up at him. “This wasn’t just a getaway, was it?”

“No. This was to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter in our lives, the way it should have been written all along. Look at where we’ve come. We both believed that we were two desolate souls, destined to live out our lives alone and without feeling. We are no longer alone.”

“And so much in love,” I say, my eyes filling with tears.

“I never knew what love was until you, Alana. I didn’t just choose you. I took one look at you and there was no turning back. You were my forever from the beginning. Love is when two desolate souls meet and accept both the dark and the light within each other. They give each other the strength and courage to grow until they are no longer two, they become one.”

“Jax...” his name is a subtle whisper in the night air. “We’ve only been together a few months.”

“Don’t hand me that bullshit, Alana. You’ve have eighteen years to prepare for this moment.” Dropping to one knee, Jax looks up at me with pure adoration and if there was ever a shred of doubt as to his love for me, it vanishes in this very moment. “I wished for love and I was given you. Please don’t take that away from me,” he whispers. “I love you Alana Jacobs, with every breath that I breathe and every single beat of my heart. I promise to be your everything if you’ll give me the chance. Will you make me the happiest man in the world by becoming my wife?”

Drawing in a deep, ragged breath, I look into his eyes. Within their depths, I see everything I have ever wanted in life and I never want to let it go. “Yes,” I whisper, without hesitation or regret. Jackson Cade gave me hope in the past, today he has brought me peace, and now I see nothing but happiness in my future – the future I will share with only him.

Rising to his feet, Jax lifts me in his arms, his lips crashing onto mine. Slowly he lowers me to my feet, reluctantly pulling away from me. Reaching into his pocket, he pulls out a red velvet box and opens it, and in one fluid movement places the ring on my finger.

Through tear filled eyes I gaze down at this symbol of love and my heart swells. A single solitaire set in a black gold band. “The light shining from within the darkness,” he murmurs before his lips claim mine again.

Chapter 33

S
tepping inside the hushed room, all eyes fall on me as I take a seat beside Deuce, all of us unsure why we are all here. Deuce rarely calls a meeting outside of church, and this one has me feeling more than a little uneasy.

“Where’s Alana?” he asks, his hardened eyes locked on me.

“Out in the main room. Why?”

Deuce visibly relaxes, but his features are still etched with concern. Something has happened, and I have a feeling I’m not gonna like what he is about to tell me. “We’ve got a problem,” he says, nodding towards Spyder.

“Paul.” Spyder says his name with finality, but I know this is just the beginning.

I stare at Spyder expectantly, waiting for him to continue, needing to know what he has found out, but instead I am met with utter silence.

Shaking his head, Deuce begins to speak. “He got out a week ago and we all know what that means. Everyone here knows what this man is capable of,” he says, looking around the room until his eyes meet mine. “And he’s willing to go to great lengths to get what he wants.”

“Alana,” I say, swallowing hard.

“Only her,” he says, his voice wavering. Turning his attention to Spyder, he nods, passing the floor to him.

“I did a security sweep of the house the moment we found out and I found this,” he says, placing a vial on the table. “I had one of Pat’s men run an analysis on the contents. It’s Mifepristone, better known as RU-486.”

Slamming my fist into the table, I am filled with intense rage. “So he was there?” I ask, already knowing the question.

“Yes,” Spyder nods. “The vial was full when I located it, but I wasn’t taking any chances. I cleaned out the kitchen and disposed of any items that could possibly have been contaminated.”

Spyder’s words should set my mind at ease, but they don’t. He’s not telling me something. “What else?”

Looking away, Spyder’s gaze falls on Deuce who nods at him. “He needs to know.”

Nodding, Spyder rises from the table and stalks across the room to retrieve a box. Setting it in front of me, he lets out a ragged breath. “I found these.”

Narrowing my eyes, I look between the box and Spyder. “They were in the closet, unopened,” he mumbles as he steps away.

Lifting the lid, I pull out letter after letter, all of them showing the same return address.
He didn’t stop.

“I’ll save you the trouble of reading all of ‘em,” Deuce begins. “Most are just him pleading with her to hear him out. A lot of apologies and promises.” Reaching inside his cut, he pulls out a letter and slides it towards me. “But this one... Alana’s not safe until we bring him down.”

Unfolding the letter, I take in a deep breath. I feel everyone’s eyes on me as my gaze falls on the single piece of paper, six simple words scream back at me.

I will never let you go.

For the first time in a very long time, I feel fear. Not for myself, but for Alana and our unborn son. But I also feel anger. Why didn’t she tell me and what else is she hiding from me?

“With Paul’s whereabouts unknown, I’m putting at least two men on Alana at all times, whether you’re there or not. We’re not taking any chances here.” Deuce’s words echo in the otherwise silent room.

Locking his gaze with mine, Deuce continues. “Beast will become a permanent fixture in the house until Paul’s located. Me and the other guys will rotate shifts. Ruger, I want you to head on over there and be on the lookout. Under no circumstances is Alana to be left alone. Understood?” Deuce looks around the room knowing full well no one will argue. Alana is well liked and any of my brother’s would lay down their life for her. “Everyone else, I want Paul Martin found. The law failed again, but I won’t.”

“Then what?” Red asks the question everyone in the room is thinking.

Deuce is silent for only a moment. “He will die.”

Chapter 34

“Y
ou daydreaming again?” Deuce asks, sneaking up on me.

“Why do you keep doing that to me?!” I shout, nearly jumping out of my skin.

“Not tryin’ to sneak up on you, but you make it so damn easy,” he chuckles, earning him an elbow to the ribs.

“You’re such an ass,” I say, but can’t help the smile that begins to form on my lips.

“An ass, huh? Guess I’ve been called worse.” Deuce shrugs, grinning widely at me, showing off those dimples people rarely get a chance to see. “Why are you so gloomy?”
