Epilogue

Six months later

Vance awakens slowly, a shit-eating grin crossing his handsome face. He’s never been happier.  He takes time to admire his fiancée.
Fiancée
, he mouths to himself. And he finds that he loves that word…and the woman attached to it even more.

He thinks back to the last few weeks…

Besides healing, mentally and physically, the guys have been working hard on fixing their old house up into tip top condition. At first, it is so they can all move back in without being reminded of what happened there. God knows they can’t live in the rental anymore. He could never expect Melina to set one foot in the door again. There is no way that she would feel safe, or be able to move forward.  But as they spend more and more time together, renovating and updating, they come to a momentous decision: it’s time to sell.

The guys have never really lived apart, absent the times one of them was abroad, or when Dayne was married.  Then again, none of the others have been in love before. Now they all are, how crazy is that?

Vance is the first to bring it up. While painting the downstairs family room, he kind of just blurts out, “I think I’m gonna propose to Melina soon.”

Dayne, who is standing next to him, drops his paintbrush with a splat. “You’re shittin’ me,” is all he says.

Vance looks at him dumbfounded. “What?  You think it’s a bad idea?” he asks, worriedly.

Dayne laughs. “No, not stupid. It’s just that I went ring shopping for Harper yesterday.”

Now it’s Vance’s turn to stare at Dayne.  “You wanna get married again?”

Before Dayne has a chance to answer, Tripp chimes in. “All gluttons for punishment,” he chides, shaking his head.

They all laugh. “So? You’re not ready to take the plunge with Anna?” Ryder nudges.

“Are you ready with Xander?” Tripp throws back at him.

“Actually…” is all Ryder says then shoves his hand in his front pocket and pulls out a platinum band. “I’m gonna do it this weekend. Just picked up this beauty.”

All of the men congregate around Ryder to check out the ring.

Mike’s the last to arrive. “Hey, ladies, we gonna start talkin’ about periods and tampons, too?”

Vance barks out in laughter. “Come on, man. There’s no way you can hold Scarlett off once she gets a look at all of the rings.”

“Fuck me. We’re not even almost close to that, asshole. Tripp’s the one who needs to step up his game. Get on his pansy ass,” Mike deflects.

“What makes you think I haven’t got my own plans? Now I just have to move up my timeline to beat you dickheads to the punch!”

The end….For real!!!
