S
aturday night me 'n' Miesha are pulling up in front of Luke's big ole fabulous house in Jersey City Heights not too far from where Miesha stays with her aunt. And baaaaaby,
trust
. I am sooo not feeling this whole house party thing. Miss Fiona does college parties, okay. Not these lil kiddy parties. But okay. Whatever!
I'm here.
There are crazy cars parked outside 'n' a few kids walking up his driveway toward the house. I flip the mirror-lighted visor down 'n' check to make sure my hair is layed right. I toss my bang from outta my eye, then reach into my clutch 'n' pull out my lip gloss.
“I ain't even tryna be here all night,” I say, gliding a fresh coat of gloss over my already sweet, juicy lips. “We need to dip in 'n' dip the hell out. Give 'em an hour of hotness, then bounce, baby, bounce. Fiona gots other things to do.”
Miesha snaps her neck in my direction. “Girl, relax. We leave when we leave. Now let's go.”
It doesn't take long for us to step outta her car 'n' make our way toward the house. And,
hunni
, trust. Fiona knows she's looking too cute in a pair of skinny jeans 'n' a slinky blouse that drapes off the shoulders 'n' a pair of heels that'll make you wanna slice a trick's face if she steps on ya toes. Oooh, my heel game is so sick, trust. Anywho. My boo Miesha's looking real cute, too, in her hip-hugging True Religion jeans 'n' multicolored blouse with the back cut out—her very own creation. I cut my eye over at how the fabric clings to her bouncy boobs. Ooh, I just wanna reach over 'n' squeeze 'em.
“Ooh, you got some nice juicy boobs,” I tease, knowing she hates it.
She cuts her eye over at me. “
Bish
, don't get ya face slapped.”
I laugh, slapping her on her butt. “Ooh, yesss! Slap me, mama!”
“Hooker, stop!” She laughs, swatting my hand away. “You play too much. Damn freak!”
“Ooh, don't be like that, boo,” I coo, looping my arm through hers. “You know I'm a freak for you.”
Miesha rolls her eyes, but she can't help laughing 'n' shaking her head.
There are some boys in back of us, whistling 'n' tryna holla at us. But we keep walking. But that doesn't stop me from glancing over my shoulder.
Ooh yes, gawd!
I peep a few buffed cutie-boos in the pack. “Ooh, there's some fine boo-daddies in back of us,” I whisper, leaning into Miesha. Of course I wanna stop 'n' get my flirt on. But Miesha ain't tryna hear it.
“Girl, please. Not.” She yanks me by the arm. “Keep it movin'. We ain't even pressed for them.”
I suck my teeth, tossing a few extra shakes in my hips. I know I'm lookin' hot like fire. Trust. I decide I'ma save a dance for the three cutie-boos in back of me. But the two gorillas with 'em can go find a cave to wobble in 'cause Fiona ain't doin' wildlife. No ma'am, no sir.
I glance over my shoulder, taking them all in one last time before we make our way to the back of the house 'n' down into the basement.

Yessss, gawd! The music is thumpin' up in here 'n' the thought of grinding up on some cutie-boo's joystick on the dance floor got my honeypot flowing with excitement. I bounce my hips, hop, then drop down to Jay-Z's “Part II (On the Run).”
“Ooh, yessss!” I sway my hips, moving through the thick cloud of smoke. Weed. Milds. You name it, they smoking it. “This is my issssh!”
“Daaaaayum, yo, you sexy as hell,” some nondescript boy yells in my ear over the music as a French Montana song starts playing. He has a blunt dangling from his lips.
I frown, looking him up 'n' down. He's not my type. At. All. Short 'n' skinny 'n' bright light with lil twists in his hair. But he has nice eyes 'n' big red lips. But all that don't matter 'cause I can tell in a few years them juicy lips gonna end up being all burnt 'n' crusty from smoking weed 'n' nibbling on bad batches of snatch-patch 'n' he gonna be all burnt out.
“Of course I am, boo. Glad you know.”
“No doubt. You wanna dance?”
Of course I do. But not with you
. I shake my head. “You can't handle the heat, boo. Run along.” I step off. Hand on hip, I slow-twirl it in the middle of the dance floor. I peep a few hoes tossin' haterade in the air, which makes me pop 'n' shake my hips real extra.
Yeah, hookers, boom-boom! Watch the phatty!
When “I'ma Boss” starts playing, I really show out. I'm bouncin' 'n' poppin' everything blessed by genetics. Yesss, gawd,
hunni
! Miss Fiona starts turning it out. I spin around, then blink as a brown-skin cutie dances up on me. I drop down on him 'n' let him feel the heat just a taste while I scan the party. I'm glad there's not a buncha kids here from school, although there are more than I'd like to see; everyone else is from other schools 'n' outta town. I peep a few cutie-boos who might be worthy of a dance or two, posted up along the walls with they boys, holding cups overflowing with drinks, looking over in my direction. All eyes on me!
I see you checkin' me, boo-daddy!
I see Tone—correction: I see the back of him—over in the corner with Miesha. Them nasty cows over there going at it like they already at a four-hour stay. He has her pinned up against the wall, grinding up on her. Her hands are draped up around his neck. Mmph. At the rate they going, her drawz'll be all sticky by the end of the night. But I ain't messy, so movin' along.
Everyone up in here is wetting up their throats, tossing back the drinks. I'm probably the only one up in here without a cup in my hand. Fiona don't toss back drinks at house parties. Oh no, boo. You won't ever catch me all lit up with my panties snatched to the side. No ma'am, no sir.
My gaze lands on Cease dancing with some brown chickie with a ginormous booty 'n' itty-bitty ant-size boobs. And she's tossing 'n' shaking her cooties all up on him. Mmph. I keep eyeing them until his eyes finally meet mine. He looks surprised to see me here. As he should be. He smiles. I toss my hair 'n' turn up, like I ain't see him. But it doesn't take him long to make his way over to me, holding a cup in his hand, grinning.
“Damn, you lookin' mad sexy,” he says, grabbing me around the waist with his free hand, pulling me into him. He smells of weed smoke 'n' alcohol. I spin outta his embrace. Tell him to tell me something I don't already know. He laughs. “Yeah, a'ight. I thought you wasn't beat to be here.”
I smirk. “I'm not.”
“Well, I'm glad you came. But I'm sayin' though... we coulda came together.”
“No, thank you. I'm not tryna date you.”
He grins. “Yeah, a'ight. That's what ya mouth says.”
“Boy, bye. That's what it is.” I bob my head to a Drake song, glancing around the party. Omigod! Luke is over on the other side of the room doing a nasty lil striptease for a group of thots, removing his shirt. He tosses it over his head 'n' they all start cluckin' 'n' clappin'.
I tap Cease, pointing over at Luke. “Ooh, you better go get ya boy before he ends up with his drawz off.”
He shakes his head. “Nah, he's good. Let him do him.”
“Daaaayum, ma,” this dark-skin cutie-boo slurs, walking up to me. Ooh, 'n' he's real thuggish, too. But his eyes are all red 'n' half closed. He looks wasted. “You fine as
fuqq
.” He licks his lips, straight dissing Cease, like he doesn't even see him standing here. Rude-azz. But Cease shuts him down real quick.
“Yo, my man. Chill, dawg. She's wit' me,” he says, pulling me into him, acting all protective 'n' whatnot, like he's my boo-daddy or something.
He belches. “Oh, word? My bad, son.”
“Yeah, a'ight?” Cease says with attitude. Dude eyes Cease all hard 'n' whatnot, but Cease gives it right back to him until he spins off. I frown. Cease shakes his head. “Yo, you 'bout to have me run up in somebody's mouth, word is bond.”
I laugh. “Boy, bye. Don't hate 'cause I got all eyes on me.”
“Yeah, a'ight. But they better not have they hands on you. Or it's gonna be lights out.”
“Oh no, oh no. Put the ego away. I am not—”
Before I can check him real quick, he pulls me farther onto the dance floor as August Alsina's “Let Me Hit That” starts playing, 'n' says, “Let's dance.” I decide to eff with him a lil taste. I thrust my hips slow 'n' sexy, then press my booty into him. I let him grind up on me. He leans into my ear, places a hand on my hip. “Yo, keep it up 'n' you gonna find out how big my
ego
really is.”
I smirk, spinning outta his embrace. “You ain't ready for this heat, boo.” I thrust my hips at him, raising my arms up over my head, then run my hands through my hair. “I'll have you makin' babies in ya pants.”
He cracks up laughing. “Yo, you mad funny, yo.”
I eye him, feeling my body heat. I step into him, slip a leg between his. “Shut up 'n' dance.”
“Yeah, a'ight.” He gives me an intense look. Then pulls in his bottom lip. Jeezus! I gotta get my imagination 'n' these hormones under control. But I can't stop staring at his lips 'n' wondering if they are as soft as they look...
“Yo, you a tease, you know that, right?”
“I can back it up, too. Trust.”
“Yeah, a'aight. You all talk, girl.”
Now it's my turn to laugh. “Think what you like.”
“Yo, why you be frontin', huh?” He playfully brushes my nose with his finger. Brow raised, I look up at him. Ask him what the heck he's talking about now. “Yeah, okay, play dumb.”
I step back some. “Boy, boom. You're drunk.”
He grins. “Nah. I'm nice, yo. But you know what'd be even nicer? You 'n' me, chillin'.”
I stare at him, amusement 'n' curiosity dancing in my eyes. I know I should probably chop this right here, right now. But noooo. Fiona likes living on the edge a lil.
So, what's a diva to do?
I glance over 'n' peep LuAnna 'n' Chantel eyeballing me. Mmph. I ain't messy, but, trust, I know how to give a trick something to gag over. I reach up 'n' put my arms around Cease's neck. His eyes meet mine, 'n' he smiles. I hold my breath, suddenly realizing just how close we are. We're so close, our bodies pressed together, that I feel his heart beat.
And, for a moment, I forget where I am. I forget about all the other cutie-boos I promised in my head to dance with. Forget I'm not supposed to be liking this boy. But he's got my body rockin' 'n' all I wanna do is get filthy with him. Yes, gawd,
hunni
!
I swallow.
He's looking down at me. I'm looking up at him. And, uh, um, well . . . something's happening here. He leans in. Pretends like he's about to kiss me, then pulls back 'n' laughs. “Nah, you ain't ready for these lips, babe.”
Oooh, okay! This nucca wanna play games. Let's play.
I get caught up in the moment 'n' start poppin' 'n' droppin' it, showing him what I'm twerkin' with. Yes, gawd,
hunni
! I throw this diva heat up on him until I get him so excited that he's ready to turn this cherry out.
Then without warning, I step off, leaving him in the middle of the dance floor, his excitement stretching across the front of his jeans.
Boom-boom! Take that!
Don't. Do. Me.
How you like me
na
?!

“H
ey, girl,” LuAnna says, approaching me Monday morning as I'm stuffing another folded note left for me by my phantom boo into my back pocket, shutting my locker door. “You have a minute?”
I bat my lashes several times, then tilt my head. “A minute for
what
?” I say with a buncha stank. “You know I don't do you, boo.”
She frowns. “And I don't really do you, either. Still, I wanna ask you something.”
I roll my eyes. “Uh-huh. I know you don't do me, sweetness. But you
stay
talking about me, though.” She opens her flappers to speak, and I shut it down. “No need to explain ya'self, hun. Or try to lie. I talk about you, too. Trust. The only difference is, I can say it to ya face. Now how can I help you?”
She huffs. “Whatever, Fiona. Are you messin' with Cease?”
Am I messing with Cease? Bish, GTFOH!
I laugh. Not admitting, not denying, just wanting this nosy chick to think whatever she wants to think. “Why? Is he ya man or something?”
She shakes her head. “No. But . . .”
I flick a strand of hair that has fallen over my eye outta my face. “Then you're not about to ask me
nothing
. Now, good day, ma'am.” I shoulder my bag, then walk off down the hall.
Trick, please!!
Seconds before the bell rings, I slink inside my second-period class, sliding onto my seat 'n' dropping my bag, feeling slightly annoyed at myself for not finding out why she stepped to me, wanting to know if I was
messing
with Cease. And exactly what that
but
meant. I quickly dismiss the thought, remembering the note my phantom-boo left in my locker.
Oooh, why won't you show ya face, lil boo-daddy?
I glance around the room, taking in the boys at their desks, wondering if I'd want any of them to be him. I frown. I'm in a room full of uglies.
No, gawd, please 'n' thank you!
I reach in my back pocket 'n' pull the note out, a slow smile easing over my lips as I open it.
Pretty Green Eyes
Exotic 'n' rare
Like a precious gem
I can't help but stare
deep into ya pools of green fire
Hot
Intense
full of passion 'n' desire
I get lost in the sparkle 'n' shine
Pretty green eyes
Won't you be mine?
You've got me under ya spell
My baby got them pretty green eyes
The kinda eyes that got me mesmerized
The kinda eyes that peer into my soul
'n' make me whole
pretty green eyes
you got me hypnotized
“So.” Miesha leans forward 'n' looks at me with a slight sparkle in her eyes. “Are things
finally
heating up with you 'n' ya boo?” She gestures over at Cease, who is standing two tables over with his back to us, talking to Tevin 'n' two other guys from the football team. We're in the lunchroom eyeballing all the sights instead of stuffing our faces. “And
don't
even give me that
he ain't ya boo
mess. You might as well stop fighting it 'n' give in to the truth.”
I roll my eyes, laughing. “Girl, boom! The truth is, Fiona ain't tryna let no boy try'n domesticate her. No, ma'am.”
She laughs. “Girl, quit. Y'all were like hot fire all over each other at Luke's party, boo.”
I feign innocence. “Ooh, lies, boo. We were just dancing.”
“Yeah, okay, slutty-boo. I was there. I know what I saw.” She grins. “Y'all look cute together, boo.”
I laugh. “Girl, boom! Come again. We're
not
together. It was a party. I was there to dance 'n' have a good time. Not stand around taking up space.”
She laughs 'n' shakes her head. “And this is coming from the grump who didn't even wanna go.”
I shrug. “Well, since I was practically blackmailed into going, I had to make the the best outta a stressful situation.”
She waves me on. “Lies. You were grinding all up on Cease like he was ya man 'n' the two of you were the only ones in the room.”
I wag a finger at her. “Ooh, don't do me. You tryna be messy. My name ain't Wallflower, boo. I go to dance 'n' turn the party out. And okay, maybe I did let Cease
feel
up on”—I glide my hands over my hips—“all'a this goodness.”
She laughs. “Well, the only thing I'm sure was messy that night was ya panties.”
I can't help but laugh with her, giving her the finger. “Middle finger up! Ooh, wait. Let me tell you who had the effen nerve to step up to me at my locker this morning, wanting to know if I was
messing
with Cease?”
“Who?”
“LuAnna.”
“Whaaat? For real? What you tell her?”
“Not a damn thing. That trick can go choke on a fat one. But it won't be his. Not on my watch. Trust.”
She shakes her head. “Wait. I thought you
said
you didn't want him.”
I buck my eyes. “Ooh, don't do me. I don't. But just because
I
don't want him doesn't mean I want
her
to have him. No, ma'am. I don't like that ho. So just on that alone, plus
knowing
she wants him, she ain't getting him. Not today, anyway. Check back in a few weeks, though.”
She cracks up laughing. “Girl, you're a hot mess!”
“Uh-huh, but I ain't ever messy, boo.”
