The broad head felt cool at her entrance as it breached her in shallow dips. For support, she dug her nails into his thighs and hissed when he sank deeper. Tears poured from her eyes with emotions riding her in a confused wave of release.

The initial discomfort of his size, stretching her, she’d aided by not relaxing her inner muscles. Slowing her breathing, releasing the tension in her thighs, allowed her body the ability to accept his length. The tears of loss continued to spill over, and all she could do was wait him out.

He pushed inside deeper. His body slapped hard into her, bringing her groaning. Sadie screamed as he pumped harder, faster, going painfully deep. Half pleasure, half pain. Pain won out to inch around her pelvis. It flared out down her legs like hot water, too hot for the skin closing over her getting hotter with each thrust.

She gasped. “Aroc it’s too much…stop!” She worried he hadn’t heard her when his arms tightened around her waist and in a flash, he was on his back on the floor of the shower with her riding on his lap. Water showered down on his hard belly, creating a blurred wall of liquid between them.

He laid the flat of his hand on her stomach. Her breath came in ragged gasps. His rough labored voice rumbled in his chest, under her hands. “Relax. Raise up on your knees.” His hungry gaze locked on her mouth. He shifted beneath her, lifting his pelvis a few inches off the floor and leaving her at an incline. Her bare breasts swayed over his face from the momentum. Aroc brushed his thumbs over her nipples, making her squirm and moan. “Take control of your pleasure, Sadie. Use me to satisfy your needs, your anger, your apprehension to coexisting in outer space with an alien twice your size.”

He was right. She needed to take back control of her life, make the best of her situation, and stop waiting for things to return to what she considered normal. She trapped the corner of her lip between her teeth. Her gaze languidly raked down over the wet, handsome, trembling situation currently clenching his jaw, waiting for her to take control.

She felt empowered by his position. The sound of water gurgled into the slotted drain cover under her knees on the floor. She closed her eyes for a second, then opened them to Aroc’s hand cupping her cheek.

The pale burgundy of his skin deepened under the strain. Black and burgundy eyes nearly glowing under the soft lights focused on her bouncing breasts then her eyes. “Fuck. Me. Sadie.” The tone raw and feral, the strained words erased her hesitation, her apprehension to take what he offered.

At that slanted angle, she made a startling discovery. The deeper he went, the more the second smaller penis stimulated her clitoris, the hard nub quivering with each contact. A body built to give pleasure.

On her knees, Sadie rose and lowered herself, finding a rhythm and depth she could handle. Hands planted on his chest; she let go of her inhibitions and pumped her hips over his erection.

Pants and groans filled the air, and he repeated that word over and over. She didn’t care. She needed this, his touch, the embrace in the most desperate raw manner. Hungry for more, she moved into his grip on her waist, working her hips, riding back and forth, throwing her head back each time his firm fingers dimpled the skin of her stomach.

The thick erection continued to swell inside, stretching her with each thrust. It felt wonderful, and she wanted more in the same vein that she couldn’t take one more push. It was like eating a delicious meal and becoming frustrated you were full, and there was half a plate of food left.

Aroc’s hips left the floor, lodging himself deep inside. Her eyes widened, lips parted on a moan and braced her hands on his chest, steadying herself not to fall. The hunger and, raw desire burning in his gaze, she suspected lingered for his deceased wife. Only he used her body to relive it one last time. Wasn’t she doing the same, using his body, the contact to fill the void of having someone to love? Did it matter when it felt this good to have him inside her? She could be a surrogate for love this intense that he ached for his wife two years after her death.

“Ka-hon-tek-ron,”
Aroc murmured, and now she wondered if it were a nickname for his wife. Getting to his elbows, Sadie watched Aroc’s grip tighten on her knees. He adjusted until he held her waist, holding her down over his stiff body. Their bodies fractured when the orgasm hit hard.

Sadie moaned, her breasts bouncing behind every thrust.

She clung to Aroc, her arms around his neck, their body’s slick with sweat and shower water. Face buried in his neck inhaling she breathed in his spicy scent.

Aroc spoke under his breath in murmurs. He carried her naked out of the shower, her legs wrapped around his waist. “Where are we going?”

“The stairs,” he said walking through the dark room.

One handed, he tugged open a door revealing a set of stairs. Sadie got on her knees hands braced to the stair above her, her back to Aroc. The carpeted stairs lent a measure of cushion she appreciated when he sank deep, thick, and long in one slow push. His testicles slapped her sensitive skin.

Hissing from the deep penetration, Sadie gripped the edge of the stairs leading up to a dark room. As he pumped into her, he curved over her kissing her neck. As their wet bodies molded together, she understood. This position was dangerous for karuntees if they lost control and released their spikes.

Aroc stiffened. Hot liquid poured into Sadie as he came inside, his seed filling her cervix. For a moment, the fear of pregnancy stole over her. Injection birth controls were a new concept for her. There was no way to check the accuracy rate of it. She’d simply have to rely on the doctor's words as true.

Winded, Aroc whispered in her ear. His hot breath tickled over her wet skin. “What are you muttering into the carpet?”

Sadie turned her face, resting her cheek on the edge of the step. “Do we know about the effectiveness of the injections the doctor gave me…the birth control?”

Aroc blew out a frustrated breath. “If I thought you weren’t protected I wouldn't have taken you,” he spat out and it held more than she’d asked.

She left it alone. Exhausted, and slightly sore with him snug inside her body, Sadie struggled to peer up at him through her lashes. Aroc sighed into her neck, the warmth of his fingers smoothing hair off her shoulder.

She followed the slice of light across the floor at the top of the stairs. This was his workout room. “Can you lift up from my behind? Your size is cumbersome and I’m getting carpet burn on my stomach, Captain.”

He snorted, easing his length out of her body, still pulsing sporadically from the climax. The cool air chilled her bare behind when his body heat faded. When he stood, his fingers trailed a line down her spine through the moisture. He let out a moan, working his open palms to either side of her waist before helping her to her feet. He scooped her into his arms, her breasts flattened against his sweaty chest, her arm hung loose.

Shakily, he carried her up the last two unlit stairs to a room with a padded floor. The faint scent of mint suggested chewing gum. That made her smile to think of him popping a stick of gum like a little boy, chewing with the muscle in his temple flexing. Was he ever a little boy? Fragile? Scared? Unsure of himself, unlike the tough clan leader of a fierce race and captain of his species she’d grown to respect over these weeks. And truthfully, she’d grown to like…immensley.

“I have a large tub I soak in after a workout.” He carried her through an arch leading to an alcove housing the deepest tub she’d ever seen. Aroc pushed a button and steam spilled out of the walls. Hot water bubbled up from the floor of the tub.

Sadie sighed in appreciation and leaned into his chest slick with sweat and closed her eyes.

Aroc set her on her feet, gathered her wild thick hair on top of her head, and twisted it into a knot, tucking the ends in securely. Something else he must have done with is wife.

Aroc drug his hand through the water, swirling a whirlpool in the center. “Look behind you on the shelf, hand me the bottle with the blue liquid.”

Thighs achy, Sadie handed him the bottle of pearl blue-colored liquid. “What’s that?” she asked. A medicinal scent filled the air as he swirled it into a spiral of water in the center of the tub.

“Whipped honey, mint, and some herbs to soothe your muscles.”

Sadie would swear her skin moaned at the first touch of steaming water under her feet when Aroc settled her down into the scented water. He stepped away, pressing a control panel on the wall, lowering the lights. “Take as long as you need, Sadie. You’ve earned my trust. I’ll shower in the other bathroom.”

On her hip, she angled sideways, pressing her breasts to the inner wall of the deep tub. The milky blue water lapped at her chin as she made herself comfortable.

“Will you check on Norese? If Etta isn’t in the bed, she’ll wake up.”

Aroc frowned.

She sighed at his musical ignorance. “Etta James, only the smoothest crooner out there. We named the toy iguana, Etta James.”

His eyes darkened. “Let me hear you sing, Sadie.”

Shocked by his request, she sank down in the tub to the sound of Aroc’s soft laughter fading as she closed her eyes. She’d made love to an alien in outer space. What next? The sound of footsteps faded, then stopped.

“I can’t hear you, Ochi.”

“Go shower, Captain,” she called closing her eyes. She smiled, relaxed, then drew in a cleansing breath then let the words fill the room. They’d opened a new chapter to this affair. A chapter with possibilities, she hadn’t imagined plausible. “At last…”

Chapter 7

An hour later, the leg muscles behind her knees still quivered. She relaxed with her body curled on its side, arm tucked beneath a pillow. His scent rose off the fabric making her smile. A masculine scent she loved. Sadie lay dazed by the sight of Aroc standing across the room, a towel draped around his hips. The swells of his well-formed behind snug under the material. He peered out the window at the shuttles going back and forth across the purple expanse of night. The melodious sound of violins colored the warm air.

Warm air, she mused. That was unusual for Aroc, preferring a cool home.

“It’s warmer than normal in here, Captain.” She smoothed the hair from her face. “Does sex drain you of body heat? Are you sick?”

He inhaled deep, and his shoulders dropped when he shuffled around to face her. His long strides closed the distance in three steps.

“You’re naked in my bed wrapped in my bath towel, skin flush from having sex with me. After what just happened, call me Aroc.” He eyed the time on the nightstand. “You drifted off after your bath before you dried off. You were shivering in your sleep. I adjusted the temperature.”

“Thank you.” The bed dipped when she shifted up on one elbow. “Alright, Aroc. Is everything okay? You appear distracted. Has something happened I should know about?”

He sat on the bed, looking over his shoulder at her. “Ever since you arrived, you’ve displayed
bakta ron
fierceness in protecting Norese.”

A karuntee term. “Is that good or bad?”

“It means warrior woman…good, Sadie. Unexpected.”

“I told you, I’ll fight to protect her, Captain, sorry, I mean Aroc.”

“And you lived up to that promise. I respect that, Sadie.” He ran a hand through the short hair on his shoulder. “You deserve more options than being Norese’s nanny. On Sector Five, there’s a human captain I highly respect, which is high praise coming from a karuntee. I want you to meet him. He has an elite task group of detectives working undercover on Earth. I believe you would enjoy the assignment.” His words invigorated her interest. “They provide critical information unavailable by any other means. You’d work for me and Captain Holston. Whatever you uncover, report to him then me, in that order.” He had said nothing for the longest moment before he spoke. “Would you be my spy, Sadie?”

She sat up, supporting her weight with one hand on the mattress. The towel snug between her breasts. Sadie knew she should be excited about the opportunity, but the timing soured the offer.

“You’ll return to Earth to work and report weekly to the other captain along with me.”

She shook her head side to side, unbelieving he didn’t see the problem with his offer. “Are you serious?” Indignation filled her that he’d made the offer after they’d had sex. Sadie glared openly at Aroc inches from her feet. “You arrogant…the sex was payment for getting me a job up here?”

The pillow filled her hand before she could stop herself. Aroc snatched it from her, slinging it across the floor. He clamped a hand on her thigh, her butt bunching the covers as he dragged her close to his face, immobilizing her with a hand behind her neck. Puffs of hot breath from his parted lips teased the hairs from around her face.

“Sex”—the word left his mouth between clenched teeth—“provided a mutual release for both of us. I had my reasons, and you had yours. Next time, we’ll go a few rounds in the gym to blow off steam instead.”

Point made. His hand slipped from her neck.

The desire to feel his heat again claimed control, and her hand eased over the spot. “What makes me a candidate for this job?” This she had to hear.

He touched her hand. “Eighty percent of the detectives are African American women and men.” He began to massage her foot closest to his leg. His calming mechanism, she thought. “They work in homes, offices, government buildings. They’re drivers, chauffeurs, maids, caregivers, and other domestic employees. It’s a highly coveted position as it can be dangerous and requires a certain level of discretion.”
