Chapter 1

Olivia stood in Felisha’s back yard, tussling with Mark who was trying to stop his wife from ripping her best friend’s head off.

“Turn me the fuck a loose,” Olivia yelled then turned to Mark, trying to scratch his eyes out. “Nigga, I can’t believe that you tried me like this!”

“Baby, please hold up.” Mark pleaded, trying to hold her hands down or he’d be a blind man for sure. “Just le’me explain.”

“Explain what?” She asked, looking back at Felisha like she could kill her.

Felisha stood in the back doorway, holding the screen door partly open. She was crying, because she never expected things to come out like this nor did she ever care to hurt Olivia in this way.

“I’m sorry, O’.” She cried. “It’s not what you think. It ain’t like that.”

Olivia’s eyes scanned Felisha’s face then they followed down to the sleep wear that she had on. She jerked her neck, feeling insulted. “Bitch, what you mean it ain’t like that, but you standing in the fucking door half naked?” She turned and slapped the shit out of Mark.

He quickly grabbed his jaw, feeling surprised by the sneak attack. “Come on, babe,” he pleaded, still rubbing his face.

“Fuck you!” Olivia yelled as the tears flooded her eyes. She was beyond hurt as she stood there staring at him. “You know what.” She calmly said, looking from one backstabbing snake to the other. “Y’all can have each other.” She disappointedly turned to walk off.

Mark just stood there feeling stupid and ashamed of being so weak that he went there again with Felisha.

“It’s not like that boo,” Felisha called out as the tears also fell from her eyes. Not only was she embarrassed, but she’d possibly just lost the only best friend she ever had.

“Boo,” Olivia mocked as she stopped in her tracks and turned to face Felisha. “Don’t call me Boo, don’t call me Bestie, and matter of fact.” She said, feeling like she could slap the shit out of her right about now. “Don’t call me SHIT!” She snapped, and before Mark knew it, she’d gotten past him and smacked Felisha in the face with the palm of her hand.

Felisha quickly slammed the screen door and locked it. She wasn’t known to be a scared ass, but she’d never saw Olivia act so crazy in her life. It was better to be safe than sorry so, she closed the big door as well, locking it behind her. She didn’t want any parts of what was going on outside. She’d deal with Olivia after she calmed down.

“How long has this shit been going on?” Olivia screamed in Mark’s face.

“It’s not what you think, baby. It was something that just happened.”

Olivia wanted to kick him in the balls, but her feet were stuck to the ground. Mark had really pulled a fast one over on her and she didn’t have a clue how she was going to get past it.

“So, it was your first time, huh?” Olivia questioned. She then disregarded Mark and started screaming back at Felisha. “Bitch, so you fucked my husband?” She yelled out toward the house. She tore out at the back door, but Mark grabbed her around the waist. “Was it good to you, bitch?” she called out while struggling to get loose and kicking like a wild woman.

Mark could barely control her erratic behavior. “Let’s go before somebody calls the police.” He begged her, feeling even more ashamed since the neighbors had started coming out to be nosey.

“You nasty bitch!” she called Felisha as Mark took a firm grip of her arm and led her around the side of the house, passing his car, and then stopping at hers. He quickly opened her car door, trying to make her get inside it.

“Please, get in the car, babe.” He begged, feeling bad as hell for her. He saw the hurt in her face and could hear the pain in her trembling voice as she cried and talked shit.

“YEAH, I JUST FOUND OUT THAT MY BEST FRIEND FUCKED MY HUSBAND!” She said to the neighbors as they whispered amongst each other. “YEAH, YOU GOT A SLUT IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD!” S
he looked over at the next door neighbors. It was a small elderly lady and her husband as they stood out on their front porch looking at them. “HIDE YOUR MAN OR SHE’LL FUCK HIM, TOO.” She said, as the elderly lady’s eyes stretched in disbelief from seeing such madness. She grabbed her husband’s hand and immediately led him back inside their house.

“Please, don’t do this,” Mark whispered. “Just get in the car, Olivia. You’re embarrassing yourself.”

Olivia mean mugged him right quick. “You don’t tell me what to do!” she yelled out at him. “You’ve embarrassed yourself just by being over here!” she quickly maneuvered around Mark and grabbed a brick off of the ground, throwing it in Felisha’s front window. The glass broke out, shattering everywhere across the front bushes directly in front of it. “Are you coming out Bitch, so I can beat your ass?” She threatened her.

__________

“Did she just throw a brick through my front window?” Felisha pondered in disbelief. She was shocked as she hid in the corner, trying to peek out the blinds. She took in a nervous deep breath and felt her face. Olivia had definitely stung her so quick that she didn’t even see it coming. “Lord, I hope that Mark can get her out of my yard before I have to call the police on this crazy bitch.”

__________

Olivia knew that there was no more damage she could do there. She was already broken and was now just ready to leave. She headed for her car, but then stopped just shy of the driver door as she looked back at her husband.

“I could’ve respected it if it was with somebody else.” She sadly wiped the tears streaming down her face with the back of her hand. “But, with my best friend?” she questioned. “My muthafuckin’ best friend, Mark?” Her voice cracked, trying desperately to not cry as she despondently got inside her car. She closed the door shut and immediately started the engine.

Olivia looked over at Mark and shook her head in disgust again. She then backed out of the driveway. Once out in the street, she pressed the gas like a mad woman and quickly exited the neighborhood. All she wanted to do was go home, pack her shit and get the fuck on.

__________

Mark stood in the yard and thought about going back inside the house to get his watch, but then went against it as he quickly got inside his car. He wanted to make amends with his wife. He didn’t know how he was going to do it, but it had to get done. As he pulled out of the driveway, his phone rang. He looked down to see that it was Felisha. He didn’t want to answer, but he had to make sure that they had their story straight.

“Yeah,” he answered.

“Babe, what are we gonna do?” she asked.

Mark wiped the sweat from his forehead then quickly put his hand back on the steering wheel. “I don’t know what you’re gonna do, but I’m trying to go get my wife back.”

“Think about it,” Felisha said, taking this as the perfect opportunity to get him to leave Olivia. “Maybe this happened for a reason.”

“Felisha, you sound foolish. This wasn’t supposed to happen.”

“Well, it did.” She quickly snapped.

“And, only once,” he insisted. “I’m telling her that it only happened once so you better stick with the script. All you know is that it just happened and I’ll handle the rest.”

Felisha rolled her eyes in the top of her head. “Listen at you sounding like a pro at this. Nigga, this your first time ever getting caught up. Quit flexing!” She said, feeling tired of his bullshit. “If she doesn’t want to be with you then I’m here for you. You can always come here.” She sincerely said.

Mark looked down at the phone. He wasn’t trying to hear that shit. Shaking his head like he was pissed, he hung up the phone in her face.

__________

“Babe,” Felisha called out. Nothing was heard on the other end. “Mark,” she called out again, and then looked at her phone to see that he was gone. “That son of a bitch hung up in my face.” She looked over by the window and looked at the brick on her living room floor. She was pissed at how things had gone down; especially with Mark running behind Olivia. She picked up the brick off the floor, and then quickly dialed Mark’s number again.

“Yeah,” he answered, feeling frustrated.

“Tell your bitch she better fix my window!” she yelled out.

Mark didn’t even respond as he hung up in her face again.

__________

Twenty-minutes later, Olivia had made it back home and was now packing some of her under clothes inside a duffle bag. She didn’t know where she was going, but she was going somewhere. She couldn’t stand to be around Mark at the moment. He’d burned her bad, by fucking with Felisha. She knew she was no saint, but at least Mark didn’t personally know Zay. Mark had crossed a thin line and was playing with explosives fucking around like that.

She stepped inside her closet and pulled out the matching Louis Vuitton rolling suitcase, sitting it on the bed. She opened it up and headed back into her closet. She came out with an arm full of clothes and dumped them inside the suitcase. She walked around the room, grabbing everything that she could and putting it in the suitcases and the duffle bag. She looked over on the nightstand at a picture of her and Mark smiling like they were the perfect couple. She picked the picture up and threw it against the wall. At that time, she could hear the side door opening, being that the house alarm had sounded. After hearing four beeps, Mark had turned it off.

“Baby,” he called out sympathetically. “Please talk to me.”

Olivia continued packing. She didn’t say a word.

“Babe,” he said, making his way to the bedroom door, and then turning the knob. It was locked and he felt helpless as he stood on the other end of the door feeling bad as hell and not knowing what to say.

Olivia continued packing as she spoke softly to herself. “This muthafucka think I’m gonna talk to him? I’m walking right past his ass and out that door.” She sniffed from crying. “He can kiss my ass.”

“O’,” Mark called out. He found himself sitting on the floor with his back pressed against the bedroom door. His legs were spread apart like he was making room for them to stretch out. He’d planned on sitting there for the rest of the week if he had to. “Babe, please talk to me, say something to let me know that you’re there.”

“I’m leaving you,” she yelled out, still crying.

“Well, not that,” he quickly responded. “Say something else.”

“Mark, it is over!” She called out, emptying the last of her drawers. “I can’t believe you fucked my best friend.” She said, grabbing a Kleenex out of the box on the nightstand, and then blowing her nose.

“Don’t you wanna know what happened?” He said, feeling like he had to say something to delay her leaving him. Surprisingly, this sparked Olivia’s interest as she stopped dead in her tracks and looked over towards the door. “Don’t you wanna know?” He repeated since she hadn’t responded, yet.

She hesitated for a moment as she wiped her eyes. A part of her didn’t want to know shit, but the nosier part of her definitely wanted to know everything.

She cautiously made her way over to the bedroom door, and then sat down on the floor with her back pressed against it. Her legs were stretched straight out with one ankle crossing her foot as she twiddled her nervously shaking fingers. “Well,” she said. “What happened?”
