Entangled: Sequel to Awakened (12 page)

Xavier pulled the car to a stop outside her dorm building. He turned toward her and cupped her face before kissing her gently. “Thank you for an amazing few days. Are you sure you don’t want me to take you for dinner?”

“It’s not that I don’t want to, babe, but I have an assignment to finish. It has to be handed in tomorrow. My teacher is a real ball buster if work isn’t in on time.”

Xavier laughed. “Maybe I will have to do something about him. Bust his balls maybe?”

“No. I quite like his balls.”

He threw his head back and laughed. A deep, hearty chuckle she was growing to love.

“Come on. Let’s get you inside before I take you back to my hotel and ravage you again.” He opened the door and stepped from the car. After removing Aline’s bag and crutches, he opened her door and lifted her out.

He held her close and peppered her face with kisses before setting her on her feet and helping her to position her crutches. “I’ll take you up.”

Although he shouldn’t be upstairs, let alone in her room, it was inviting trouble leaving her to go up on her own.

She hobbled to the lift on her crutches. Xavier hovered nearby with her bag in his hand and watched her closely in case of a stumble.

The lift carried them to her floor and she hobbled along to her room. The minute she opened the door, Callie, who had been seated at her desk studying, squealed. She dropped her pen on the floor and rushed to her friend.

“You’re back. I missed you. It was so boring without you around. Did you have a good time?” Callie glanced between Aline and Xavier. “Oh, you did it!” She crushed Aline to her.

Aline laughed. “I’ve been gone for less than four days. Anyone would think I’ve been gone for months.”

“It felt like it. Tell me all about your stay.”

Xavier placed Aline’s bag on the floor and stood back as the girls greeted each other. When they calmed and separated, he spoke. “Darling, I’ll go now and see you tomorrow.” He drew Aline into his arms and gave her a spine tingling kiss before bidding her, and Callie, a good night.

Callie helped Aline to her bed and they sat down together.

“Tell me. How was he? Did you love it?” Callie asked excitedly.

“It was wonderful. He is everything I knew he would be. I can’t believe I gave in to him so easily.” Aline paused.

“What is it?”

“I think I’m beginning to fall in love with him.”

Callie squealed and hugged her friend.

Aline hoped and prayed she wasn’t moving too quickly and setting herself up for a fall.

Chapter Twelve

Aline clutched Xavier’s hand as they sat side by side waiting to be called in to the Orthopedic Surgeon’s office. It was the first time Xavier had been able to accompany her and she felt more settled with him by her side. It had been nine weeks since her fall and she was hoping today would be the day her cast would be removed. She was sick to death of the damn thing.

While she waited her thoughts drifted off. The past weeks with Xavier had been wonderful. He had taught her so much including how to love. Yes, she had fallen in love with him but was yet to tell him. His knowledge of Corporate Law was extensive and he didn’t hesitate to share it with her. They spent hours discussing his business, her position and what would be required of her. The job seemed to be everything she had wished for. Her excitement was building.

Although she spent more and more time in his bed at the hotel where he was staying, she still had not formally agreed to move in with him when they returned to Dalton.

The doctor’s voice broke into her thoughts, “Miss Bennett-Miller,” he called from the doorway of his office.

Xavier helped her to her feet and waited while she steadied herself on her crutches before sitting back down. “Aren’t you coming in?”

“I wasn’t sure if you wanted me in there with you.”

Aline loved that he’d waited to be asked and hadn’t automatically assumed it would be what she’d want. He had been much more considerate of her wants and needs since their talk on the island.

“I would love to have you with me.”

Xavier moved to her side and followed her in to the office.

The doctor shut the door before introducing himself to Xavier. “I’m Bill Jorgensen.”

Xavier shook his outstretched hand. “Xavier Pierce. Aline is my girlfriend.”

Aline smiled when he glanced at her for approval.

“Lucky man,” the doctor murmured.

“Very,” Xavier agreed.

The doctor turned his focus to Aline after asking Xavier to be seated. “Can you sit up on the bed for me, please?”

Xavier watched as she struggled to heft herself onto the high bed. He sprang to his feet and lifted her up. After making sure she was comfortable, he placed a kiss on her forehead and resumed his seat.

The doctor examined the file he had open on the desk in front of him. “The x-rays you had taken two days ago show the break has completely healed. The cast can come off and I will ask the girls at reception to make appointments for you to see a Physiotherapist.”

Aline grinned. “I can’t believe I will finally be free of this damn thing.”

“It will feel very strange and you will need to wear a brace until you regain full strength in your leg muscles. You may continue to use the crutches but the more you place weight on the leg, the faster it will recover.”

“I understand,” Aline answered.

“Would swimming help her to regain the strength, doctor?” Xavier enquired.

“Swimming would be excellent. It exercises the muscles while the water is supportive.” Dr. Jorgensen approached Aline with a small, saw-like contraption. After switching it on, he lowered it down to her cast. Within minutes, Aline’s leg was free. She could have screamed with relief.

The doctor examined her leg, poked and prodded. When he bent her leg at the knee, the joint which had been broken, she stiffened and yelped with the pain.

Xavier frowned. He hated his love being hurt, and would gladly have changed places if he could.

“It will hurt, Aline, but it is vital you exercise the joint as much as possible.”

Tears dripped onto her cheeks. “I promise I will do my very best.”

The doctor fitted her with a light brace and explained, while it would offer support, it would also allow freedom of movement. He offered his hand and assisted Aline to sit up. She winced as her leg hung over the side of the bed and bent at the knee. The ballet flat she had brought with her was slipped on to her foot.

Xavier stiffened as the doctor placed his hands on Aline’s waist and lifted her to the floor. He fumed because another man was touching his girl. He felt himself heat with anger.
For fuck’s sake. He’s a doctor. Get over yourself.”

Aline stumbled, her hands flew to Dr. Jorgensen’s shoulders and she leaned into his chest.

“That feels so weird.” She pushed back and righted herself.

Xavier curled his hands into fists. He wanted to rip the man’s head off. The fact he was a doctor, and had done nothing wrong, made no difference.

“Try taking a few steps.” The doctor took her hands into his.

Aline gripped his hands tightly as she took her first few tentative steps.

Xavier watched proudly as she headed toward him.

“She’s all yours,” Dr. Jorgensen said as he placed her hands into Xavier’s.

He was much happier holding his love than watching another man hold her.

“I would really prefer you didn’t use the crutches. Your recovery will be much quicker without them. It’s up to you. For the next few days you will need help but as you develop more strength, you will be able to move around on your own. If you don’t have someone to help you, then of course the crutches will be necessary. The brace can be permanently removed when you feel confident enough to go without it.”

“She’ll be fine without the crutches, doctor. She has her best friend and myself to help her. Between the two of us, we will make sure she stays safe. Of course, it’s up to Aline.”

“I would prefer not to use them.”

“Good. I will see you back here in six weeks. By that time I expect you to be walking normally, as if nothing happened.”

“Thank you, doctor,” Aline said.

Xavier also thanked him and he supported Aline as she hobbled from the room, her gait awkward. After settling the account and obtaining the Physiotherapy appointments, they left to go back to Xavier’s hotel.

***

Xavier held tight to Aline, his arm circled her waist as they entered the lift. He pressed the button and they were whisked up to the penthouse he rented. When the doors slid open, he helped her inside.

Aline loved the large living room. Glass walls on every side afforded views in all directions. It reminded her a great deal of the apartment she had grown up in.

“The pool is upstairs.” Xavier helped her across the room to another lift tucked away in the corner.

“Upstairs? It’s the Penthouse. Why is there another lift?”

“Come with me and your questions will be answered.” Xavier dropped her overnight bag on the floor.

When the doors to the lift opened, he ushered her in. He pushed a button marked ‘pool deck’.

Aline was intrigued.

The lift bounced to a stop and they stepped out into a fully enclosed room which appeared to float in the sky. A huge pool with sparkling blue water was the featured attraction. A Jacuzzi was off to one side. Two deck chairs were at the ready separated by a small table. Tucked away in one corner was what appeared to be, a well-stocked bar.

“This is gorgeous.”

“I come up here every night before bed, when you don’t stay over. I swim a few laps. It helps me to relax and sleep. I haven’t brought you up here before now because I knew you would be disappointed at not being able to use it.”

“You should have told me. I would have packed a swimsuit.”

“No need for a swimsuit, darling.” He raised his eyebrows.

Aline lifted her hands. “I’m not swimming naked. There are too many buildings overlooking us and you have no idea who may be watching.”

“I promise, no-one will see us.”

“No.”

Xavier crossed to a panel on the wall and pushed a button. The windows darkened but the views remained clear.

“Now we can enjoy the view but no-one can see in. From the outside, the windows are black.”

Aline had seen these before and knew what Xavier said was correct. “Can you help me with the brace? I can’t wait to get in.”

Aline sat on a deck chair and while Xavier unbuckled the brace, she pulled her dress over her head and unclipped her bra.

When Xavier finished and lifted his face to hers, his eyes smoldered. “Fuck, sweetheart. No matter how often I see you naked, it’s never enough.” He leaned forward and latched on to one rosy nipple.

Aline squirmed with delight as she heated and juices flooded south. “I thought we were going to swim. The sooner I get the strength back in my leg, the sooner we can try out all the other positions we talked about. We won’t be stuck with fucking the same way.”

Xavier popped a kiss on her nose and stood up. “You don’t play fair.” He stripped off. His hardened cock bounced on his belly as soon as it was released.

Aline felt the gush of passion race to her pussy. While Xavier couldn’t get enough of her, she certainly couldn’t get enough of him. She drank him in. Broad muscled chest with rock hard, six pack abs, slim hips, defined muscles leading all the way down to his cock. She licked her lips. His cock could only be described in one way – magnificent.  Long, thick, every girl’s fantasy. And, best of all, he was hers.

“Come on, stop staring at my cock and get those pants off.” Xavier hauled her to her feet, ripped her panties from her with a hard tug and swept her into his arms. He held her close and kissed her hard.

“You have to stop doing that,” Aline protested when he released her mouth.

“What? Kissing you?”

“No. Tearing my panties off. It’s costing me a fortune to keep buying new ones.”

He waggled his eyebrows. “Take the hint. Go without.”

“You’re incorrigible.”

He carried her down the steps of the pool and into the water.

“It’s warm, almost like a giant bath.”

“I turned the heating up a little last night because I read it would help the muscles in your leg. The cold, I believe, would cause them to spasm and cramp.”

“You are always so thoughtful. Thank you but I doubt being held in your arms is going to strengthen anything other than your biceps.

He lowered her down his body until she was standing before him. Her nipples ached, her pussy throbbed with want as his cock pushed against her belly.

He captured her lips in a smoldering, lust filled kiss and she was gone.  With her arms around his neck, she wrapped her legs around his waist. Her knee screamed with pain but, as she relaxed, it co-operated.

She thrust her hips against Xavier, the head of his cock pressing against her folds.

He drew his head back and groaned. “I thought you wanted to swim?”

“I thought so too but I now have a better plan. Fuck me.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

Holding her waist, he settled her over his cock, pressed her down and slid inside. Her warmth was hotter than the pool water around them.

“Fuck, you feel good. It’s so fucking amazing to feel your legs wrapped around me and hold you this way. Your leg isn’t hurting?”

“No. I think the water helps to support it. Now, quit talking and fuck me.”

“Bossy little thing aren’t you?” He kept his hands on her waist and while he swooped on her lips, he lifted her up and lowered her down, his cock sliding inside. The buoyancy of the water making it effortless.

Aline tightened her pussy and had a vice like grip on his cock as a powerful orgasm swept over her. Her fingernails dug into his back and he crushed her to him. His cock hardened, his balls tightened and she felt ribbons of cum explode into her.

They clung to each other as they descended. Breathlessly they kissed.

Xavier’s forehead rested against hers as they sucked much needed air into their lungs.

“I love you so very much, princess.”

Aline’s heart soared.
He loves me. This wealthy, previous playboy has admitted, he loves me?
Her heart flipped as he lifted his head and gazed at her face. Love radiated from his eyes, came from deep within.

Aline closed her eyes while she gathered her thoughts. When she opened them, she saw the question on his face.

While still locked together, his cock in her pussy, she admitted what she had known for weeks. “I tried so hard to keep my distance from you. I’ve seen the pictures from your past, witnessed how women drool over you when we go out as if I’m invisible. You were so determined to have me from the first day we met. I was equally determined, you wouldn’t. You have captured my heart, Xavier, but I swear, if you break it, it won’t be my parents handing you your balls, it will be me.”

She paused as Xavier chuckled.

“Against my better judgement, I have fallen deeply in love with you.”

Xavier whooped and spun around with her. He kissed her with so much passion, her head spun.  “Sweetheart, I promise not to break your heart but if I do, I’ll help you hand me my balls.”

Aline’s laughter was swallowed by another kiss.

“Now will you move in with me?”

“When we go home to Dalton, yes I will.”

Xavier groaned. “Three months. It’s going to be the longest three months of my fucking life.”
