FIND YOUR HAPPY: An Inspirational Guide to Loving Life to Its Fullest (26 page)

Those Who Are Confident in the
Outcome Can
Afford to Wait

After all of the work we have done, you have created a place for play, abundance, and fulfillment to coexist. When you apply the steps shared in this book, you will be living in happiness. Remember thought that happiness is not an ever constant. We must always choose happy and that choice is a conscious one. When we have dreams, we get clear about them and then work towards them we must remember to let go of the outcome.

teaches that those who are certain of the outcome can afford to wait and wait without worry, which means that you trust that whatever the outcome is will be in your favor. Often people will hold on to the dream so tightly that there is no breathing room for it to grow or even manifest. The emphasis should be on holding the vision of that dream. for extra guidance. Focus on what you want, not on how or when it will come to you. This is the key element in keeping your happy: picture, feel, and focus on what you want. I am living proof that this works and is a valid way to keep your happiness.

As you know I declared my dream to be a travel writer while I was working at a advertising job in Chicago, and the idea of traveling the world and sharing my experiences with people seemed so far removed. Yet I thought about it every day. I started to meet people who were in the publishing industry and really successful travel writers. I was soon given opportunities to write for local magazines and newspapers about local events and places to travel to. Within a few months, I was published in many inspirational blogs and other books. All of this was happening while I was still trying to force an advertising desk job into my life.

I changed companies and cities searching for my happy, while my hobby, writing, was my one true love. It was my sustenance that kept me alive. Find your sustenance, that one thing you couldn’t do without, that one thing that you love to do more than anything, that you would do for free because you love it so much. The best authors I know are mission driven, they have a purpose, a mission, to deliver their message and they believe in it so much that they would do it for little or no money. The thing about mission-focused people is the money will always follow. When you do something you love, when you live your purpose, you will make mounds of money. The most successful people in the world are living their purpose, and they are millionaires for following their hearts.

My purpose is writing sharing this message in coaching, workshops and lectures as well as travel writing is what I was born to do. When I do it, I feel connected to the world, and myself and I am inspired at every turn. Find your purpose, and you will

. Releasing the how and when will determine your success. The past few years I was not concerned with it happening overnight or how it was going to happen. Certain things needed to come into play before I could just go around the world and write about it. I had to grow as a person. I needed to meet specific people in order to help me get to where I was supposed to be. Always trust the process. When you are not sure why your goal is taking a long time, be patient. It will happen when it is supposed to. Your only job is to keep believing in and KNOWING that it is on its way.

Life Is a Journey, Not a Destination

Letting go of the outcome is your final step. Once you do that you can appreciate the journey rather than the destination. The destination is part of the journey, because once we reach each destination a new one appears on the horizon. Loving the moment and being present in it will help the journey be more enjoyable. When you embrace the

mentality your happiness can flow. You are no longer consumed with worry, fear, or anxiety. Get ready to step into the new you because opportunities will always come to you. Enjoy the ride.

Love Your Life to the Fullest

If there is one thing to remember as you embark into the new territory of awesome, happy you, it is to remember to smile. Life is fun, and the world is supposed to be your playground. So choose to love your life at every moment. You chose happiness. I congratulate you for doing the hard-core work necessary to dig through the grime and get to happy. You, my friend, are awesome, and your happy will forever shine through. I want to leave you with the wisdom of Aristotle, “Happiness depends upon ourselves.” We will always have a choice in life. At every given moment of your life, you can choose happy over fear. You can choose love over hate. Make a conscious choice to be happy and you can and will change the world.

In
a

2. Always turn your thoughts to love, happiness, and kindness for a fulfilling life.

3. When you are connected to your true self you are in pure joy and doing what you love.

4. Let go of when and how, and your dream will be realized.

5. Enjoy the journey; there is no destination.

Epilogue

H
ere I sit finishing my book in one of the most beautiful places in the world. I made a declaration and promise to myself, when I left corporate. “The world is my office and I play with it daily.” At the time I was stuck behind a desk in a giant warehouse doing design work for corporations who cared more about expanding their wallets then helping others. Now just a short time later I am “stuck” in Saint Lucia, on a travel writing assignment, all of the other journalists have flown home. I am looking out at the Caribbean Sea and recognizing the true potency of everything shared in this book. I live my happy every moment and I am living my dream. My trip to Saint Lucia was supposed to end yesterday, but because of flight cancellations to JFK because of the weather, I am here for another week. It’s an all-expense paid trip to paradise, courtesy of my angels. How is that for finding your happy? I am beaming with joy and gratitude because loving your life and living your purpose is what it’s all about. When you do, you will get gifts from the universe and the angels will say thank you for being you and give you magical miracles, like a free trip to Saint Lucia.

All of this happened because I let go of the when and how. I knew that my dream would become real. I felt it and believed in it with every fiber of my body. You must believe in yourself and your dreams because they will come true. Once you step into your purpose and your real happy, you will be a shining light of golden opportunity. Life will flow and you will certainly glow.
