 Then I stop dead.  “I think you’re going to need a walk in closet.”  I look at a smiling Rona, “Unless, of course, these all belong to Elise?”

“These are mine.” Elise walks around the car waving her two bags in the air.

“I’m afraid your girlfriend loves shopping at that store.”

“You bought all this in one place?”

“Yes, it’s so much easier than going shop to shop, don’t you think?”

“I love you.
  Come on let’s get this lot inside.”  I grab as many bags as I can.

“Rona, I’m going to go straight upstairs with these.”

“I’ll make coffee.”

“Elise, do you want some coffee?”

“No thanks, I’m going to go and hide these before Jake gets back.”
 Elise heads towards her room, but not fast enough before Cade comes back down.

“Elise, what did you buy to ‘knock Jake’s socks off’?” Cade asks, her trying not to laugh at the look of horror on her face.

I laugh, while she blushes, “I made her buy her own red dress, except Elise’s is blue.”

“Oh my god, should I warn Jake?”

“Don’t you dare.”  I laugh at Cade, pointing the sugar spoon at him.

“I’ll see you both later.” Elise makes her escape.

Smiling at Cade, “Jake’s in for a shock.”

“When is she planning the big seduction?” Cade asks, walking over to me.

I wrap my arms around his waist, “In a couple of days.  In fact the night before we leave, we’re having a dinner here, just us, Jake and Elise.”  I lift my face for his kiss.

“Are you sure you’re alright?”

  I’m just not sure how Anna and Beth would feel about having a brother or sister younger than their kids.  Jake would probably laugh his head off.  It sure as hell isn’t a conversation I’m going to have with them.  It had been hard enough having the ‘birds and the bees’ talk when they were growing up.

This morning I’ve spent about an hour on the phone to the resort in the Maldives making arrangements for a surprise for Rona.
 I just hope, with all my heart that she co-operates; that was why I’d asked her to buy a white dress.

I’ve made lasagna for dinner.  About the only thing I can make from scratch from actual memory.  I also find some garlic bread in the refrigerator along with some salad.  I just hope everyone likes it.

“Hi Rona, how are you doing?
  Elise rang and told me what happened,” Jake says, coming in through the back door and going to the sink to wash his hands.

“I’m fine really, at least I can res
t a bit now Nick’s behind bars.  Oh, Elise got something to wear today!”

Looking over to me, his eyes widen.
 “You won’t be seeing it for a couple of nights though.”  I laugh at the look on his face.

  where’s my dad gone?”

“Having another cold shower probably.”

enters the kitchen.

Jake’s tongue tied now.
  “Err, nothing.... Something smells good.”

“You have about five minutes,
then bring Elise for dinner.”

“Okay, see you guys later.”
  He dashes off to his room.

I pour a glass of wine and get a beer out the refrigerator for Cade, “Here you go.”
 I pass him the beer, “are you okay?” I ask glancing up into his eyes.

“I’m fine love, just looking forward to having you all to myself for a little over two weeks.”
 He places a very gentle, loving kiss to my lips.

“When are you going to tell me our destination?”

“The night before we go, after we have dinner with Jake and Elise.”

“I can’t wait.”  I smile.  “L
et me check dinner, I think I just heard their bedroom door open.”

“Hi guys, dinner’s ready.
  Let’s eat.  Grab yourselves a drink then come and sit.”  I remove the dinner from the oven, “I hope everyone likes lasagna.”

“Yes,” all three reply.

We all had an enjoyable meal with lots of laughter, especially while Cade told me and Elise some stories about Jake when he was a then.” eenager.  Jake blushed on more than one occasion.

Heading up to the bedroom real late, I decide it’s best to wear my pajamas to bed and I just hope Cade keeps his shorts on, otherwise I don’t think the no sex ban will last.
