‘Your dad hasn’t got that power, believe me,
Cameron.  Is there anything else you wish to divulge before I take you here and
now,’ I croak, my voice full of emotion.

‘I don’t think so,’ his hands grab my
thighs bringing me nearer him, ‘there is one thing I want to ask you,’ his lips
find my nipple and suck hard causing me to gasp as I arch my back pushing my
breast further into his mouth.

‘What’s that?’

‘Marry me,’ he bites my nipple and I groan.

‘You have only known me five minutes,’ I
pant, as he treats my other nipple to the same delight.

‘I know you,’ he pulls my face to his, ‘I
can distinguish the real thing from a fling, I have never felt this way in my
life and I cannot live without you, Lucy.  I want to make you mine permanently.’

‘I am yours,’ I suck his bottom lip, ‘you
don’t have to marry me.’

‘I want to and soon,’ his hands push my
hips down against his erection and I slide onto his throbbing shaft.  ‘I want
to wake to you every day and go to sleep with you every night,’ he growls.

I kneel up on my knees and ride him hard,
my insides delighting as his thumb circles my throbbing clitoris. ‘I love you,’
I repeat.

‘And I you, marry me!’ he demands, grinding
me down onto him.

‘Yes,’ I groan, as I explode around him and
he strokes into me again before joining me in our grand finale. I am panting
against him as my insides continue to contract.

He kisses me tenderly and the ice around my
heart melts as I give myself to him, ‘I love you, so much,’ he whispers.

‘I love you, too.’ I put all the feelings I
have into a scorching kiss which lasts an infinity.

Epilogue

I stare over at my gorgeous husband, of
five months, dressed in a striped suit and sky blue shirt which emphasizes his
ocean blue eyes, my insides melt at the pure sight of him.  As if on cue his
eyes rise from the conversation he is having with Phil and Simon.  The air
sizzles as his eyes locate mine and he produces a small smile that suggests he hasn’t
quite finished with me yet.  We had been late for the engagement party, as per
usual - it appears as if every event we are invited to we are the last to
arrive.

Cameron was unable to keep his hands off of
me when I walked out of our dressing room dressed in a cream mini dress with a black
rounded collar and my strappy heels.  I had styled my hair up into a high
ponytail and straightened it, applying a liberal amount of make up for such an
event.  I smile at the memory and he excuses himself before he saunters over
towards me with that swagger he owns.

‘Mrs Lee,’ he greets me, tipping my chin
and placing a soft kiss against my lips.

‘Mr Lee?’ I question, ‘is there something on
your mind?’

‘There is indeed, have we stayed long
enough?’

I smile, my arms surrounding his waist, ‘we
have just arrived, darling husband,’ I remind him.

‘You guys!’ Kate interrupts us as she hugs
us both affectionately, ‘you are married now, you don’t have to do all this
yukky stuff,’ she teases.

‘I will remind you of that,’ I giggle, as I
reluctantly release Cameron from my grasp, ‘and where is the lucky man?’ my
eyes move across the room to locate Kate’s fiancé.

‘Matt!’ Kate calls and he appears at her
side.

‘Yes, darling wife to be,’ he nuzzles her
neck, his hand moving to her flat abdomen delicately and Kate flushes.

‘Congratulations again,’ Cameron calls to
Matthew holding out his hand.

‘Thank you, Cameron.’ Matthew shakes it
warmly, ‘if we are half as happy as the two of you, I will be a happy man,’ he
bends and kisses my cheek.  ‘I have even forgiven you for stealing my girl,’ he
teases Cameron who grins, they have had this conversation numerous times now
and only recently has Cameron accepted the fact that Matthew is jesting.

‘Well, the best man won,’ Cameron brings me
against him possessively.

‘Hey you guys, remember me?  The booby
prize,’ Kate murmurs, rolling her eyes and I smile as Matthew wraps his arms
around her whispering into her ear which causes her to flush and giggle like a
school girl.  I glance up at Cameron and he drops a kiss on my nose.

‘Oh dear, bitter and twisted at two o clock,’
Kate whispers just before Sam appears with a dark haired man in tow.

‘Hi Sam,’ Cameron calls and I raise my
eyebrows in surprise towards him, we had not seen or heard from Sam since the
day Cameron notified her of our affair.

‘Cameron,’ Sam murmurs, reluctantly.

‘I believe you are familiar with my wife,’
he smiles down towards me, over emphasizing the word
wife
.

‘Funny, Cameron,’ Sam flushes, ‘Kate,
Matthew, we aren’t staying I just thought we would stop by and congratulate you
both.’ Sam mutters stiffly handing over a card.

‘Oh thank you, Sam,’ Matthew calls, ‘please
stay and enjoy a drink with us,’ he encourages.

‘No, Martin and I have a prior engagement,’
she excuses herself.

‘Ok well, thank you for stopping by,’ Kate
calls gently.

‘Bye Sam, good to see you,’ Cameron calls
and I elbow him in the ribs, he splutters feigning injury before grinning
boyishly.

‘You are a child, Cam.’ I accuse him sternly,
my lips twitching slightly.

‘Hey, if it wasn’t for Sam, we wouldn’t
have met,’ he reminds me, ‘I hold no malice.’

‘Hmmm, Sam and the bloody girl-code.’ I
mutter.

‘Hey baby-girl,’ mum pulls me away from
Cam, ‘excuse me Cam, she is on loan only remember,’ hugging me tight.

‘Hi mum,’ I smile, affectionately.

She releases me and hugs Cameron to her, ‘and
how is my new son?’

‘Doing good, thank you,’ he returns the
hug.

‘You looking after her?’ she gazes up at
him seriously.

‘I promised, didn’t I?’ he humors her.

‘Just checking,’ she strokes his cheek and
he flushes in embarrassment.

‘Mum, leave him alone,’ I warn, ‘he isn’t
used to so much touching.’

‘Well, he had better get used to it,’ she
huffs, ‘where is that husband of mine?’ she glances around before turning
towards him, ‘lunch Sunday, you two please,’ she sings before disappearing into
the crowd.

‘You become so submissive in my mum’s
company,’ I accuse, lightly.

‘She is scary.  When I asked for her
blessing to marry you she gave me the Spanish inquisition,’ he shakes his head
at the memory.

‘Well, she loves me.’

‘She isn’t the only one,’ his eyes find
mine and linger.

There had been three weddings within the
last year, Susie and Simon in September, Cameron and I in November, and mum and
Phil in February.  Kate and Matthew were waiting until the following year due
to the fact that Kate became unexpectedly pregnant and they preferred to wait
until after the baby is born before they have the wedding.

Suzie forgave me and was overjoyed when we
appeared at their doorstep on the way home from Stratford upon Avon to inform
her of our news.

‘Thank goodness for that,’ she had hugged
me hard, ‘I missed you Luce.’

‘Me too, I am sorry I took it out on you
Suze,’ she waved me away and informed me that she always knew we were right for
each other.

I pretty much moved into Cameron’s that
evening him refusing to allow me to go home suggesting I would change my mind
if I over-analyzed things and he wasn’t prepared to go through all this
heartache again.  A month later, I informed Phil that I had basically moved out
and he decided to put the flat on the market.  Suzie and Simon then decided to
purchase the flat for themselves and moved directly in.

In my opinion, this all goes to show that
life follows a path ……

What would have happened for example; If
Cameron hadn’t met Sam and bumped into me in the hallway, if Sam hadn’t sworn
me off of Cameron pleading, ‘Girl-code’, if Cameron hadn’t of enjoyed a
challenge, if Simon and Cameron weren’t best friends?  What are the chances of
Suzie and I becoming friends before Cameron and I meet, to meeting Kate in
Thailand and becoming close enough that I agreed to share a house with her,
albeit unsuccessfully. If I hadn’t have met Matthew and introduced him to Kate?

All these things could be coincidence, yes
of course, but in the bigger scheme of things, I chose to believe that life has
a map, we can veer off course, but we will always end up where we are supposed
to be.  We are born with an end.
