Guns n' Boys Book 1 Part 2 (23 page)

“You don’t need to.”

Seth’s face lit up in a way he didn’t expect
it to. “I love this song!” He pulled on Dom’s hand when a mix of
guitar riffs and a male voice came on. It was shit, but Dom just
followed, spinning Seth back into his arms. Maybe he could teach
him a dance move or two in the process? He could bet
Robert
didn’t know ballroom dancing.

Their whole group poured onto the dance
floor. It was nothing like the techno-club in Berlin. The music had
a lot more of a rock influence and some oldies. Nothing much to
Dom’s taste, but Seth looked as happy as ever, jumping around to
the song.

Robert lingered around at all times, trying
to catch as many smiles from Seth as he could. As if he were a
plant which lived off Seth’s attention and was on the verge of
dying. At one point, they all went to the bar to do more shots
before going back on the dance floor to the sound of some German
rock band. Seth got all sweaty shaking his head and jumping to the
beat. At one point, Robert leaned over to his ear and they shared a
joke that Dom didn’t get to hear through the music. His eyes
lingered on the matching T-shirts, and all of a sudden, he wished
he had drunk some wine.

But when Dom stepped back to the bar, he took
another Coke to keep his senses alert, wary of anything he could
consider breach of pre-marital contract, or stepping into someone
else’s territory. The music was pulsing in his ears unpleasantly,
and he already knew he’d have this horrible sound in his ears when
they left.

The next song was slower and gentler, but
still so loud that Rob had to stand close to Seth to talk. But when
he put his hand on Seth’s hip, that was it.

Dom walked over to them and stuck his fingers
into a vulnerable spot above Rob’s collarbone. He pushed him away
with anger threatening to boil and spill through Dom’s lips.

Robert looked back at him and spread his arms
to the sides. “What the fuck, man? Get off my case. Seth’s my
friend, we’re talking.”

Seth slightly pulled Dom his way. “Chill
out.”

Domenico snorted. “I was chilled out until he
started touching you where he shouldn’t have. What’s up with
that?”

Robert crossed his arms on his chest with an
angry pout. He reminded Dom of an upset little bulldog.

“Nah, we were just talking about New
Year’s.”

“I bet you wanted to search for Seth’s New
Year’s wishes in his pants, but they actually come out through the
mouth.”

Seth wrapped his arms around Dom’s waist.
“Dom… No need to be rude.”

“No. I was saying there’s gonna be a good gig
at Bazaar.” Robert eyed Domenico without even a hint of
kindness.

Dom ignored him and frowned at Seth. “I don’t
like him feeling up your hips. Don’t you see this fucker’s just
jealous he can’t get into your pants now that I’m in the
picture?”

“Stop pissing me off,” Seth hissed all of a
sudden, as if he had the right to, and turned back to Robert.
“Yeah, we’ll come. We don’t have other plans yet.”

Domenico grabbed Seth’s nape and dragged him
back to growl into his ear. “What did you say?”

“Hey!” Seth tried to weasel out of the grip.
“I said stop being an ass! He barely touched me.”

“No, he did not, and you should know that.
Stop pissing
me
off.”

“What is your problem, for fuck’s sake?” Seth
gave his chest a little push.

Domenico shook his head. “I have a problem
with the fact that you fucked this guy, he still wants you, and you
let him touch you. Are you sick in the head?”

“He’s my friend, not a romantic partner! What
the hell is wrong with you? It doesn’t matter what happened before
because I’m with you now.
I
make the decisions about what
happens and nothing will, so get off my case!” Seth’s frown
deepened with every word.

Domenico chuckled as anger spiraled down his
stomach. “I see you’re planning to get another ear for
Christmas.”

Seth’s face went blank, and he took two steps
back. And then two more. And then he turned his back, pushing
through the crowd to God-knew-where.

Domenico looked at Robert and gave him a
vicious smile. “You can be proud of yourself.” He then followed
Seth, ignoring whatever the other guy had to say.

Seth was tall enough to be an easy target to
stalk, even with the crowd and noise. Seeing him disappear through
the exit was a strange reminder of Berlin. Idiot. He’d left the
jacket inside and only wore his T-shirt. When Dom walked out to the
street, he saw Seth walking away in the snow and trying to catch a
cab.

He didn’t waste any time and caught him
within seconds. “What do you think you’re doing?” he asked, turning
Seth to face him.

Dom’s wrists got a slap. “Me? Get the fuck
away, I’m not in the mood!” he snarled, with his nostrils
flaring.

“You’re the one who treated me like dirt in
public.” Dom grabbed the front of Seth’s shirt and pulled him
close, baring his teeth. “Don’t fuck with me.”

Seth swallowed and pushed at his chest. “Or
what? You’re gonna cut
my
ear off? When did I treat you
badly, huh? You were the one offending and then threatening my
friend!”

Domenico rolled his eyes. “You know I’d never
hurt you. And I wasn’t offending him. All I did was fight off his
slimy advances! Are you blind, or are you just pretending not to
notice how improper that fucker was being?”

“‘Slimy advances’? Seriously? He brushed his
hand against me! Am I not allowed in public transport either in
case someone stands too close?” Seth hissed at Dom, and instead of
pulling away, he pushed at him with his whole body like a bull. Dom
couldn’t help himself and put his arms around Seth, mesmerized by
the powerful muscle bulging beneath that perfect skin.

“He was trying to offend me all evening. What
he did on the dance floor was just the fucking last straw,” he
breathed.

Seth put his arms up, confused by the hug.
“You’re better than that. There’s no comparison in what you two are
for me.”

“And yet you stood by him,” growled
Domenico.

“Yes, because you have no right to threaten
him! Or me for that matter! One more time I hear anything about
this ear, and we’re fucking done!” Seth pushed Dom and took a step
away. There were goose bumps all over his forearms.

Domenico pulled off his suit jacket and
swiftly put it over Seth’s shoulders, trying to ignore the cold
that turned their breath into vapor. He knew there was no way Seth
would make his threat real, but he chose not to argue over that.
“And he had no right to offend me. Shall I remind you he suggested
I’m whoring myself out?”

“Yeah, it was pretty fucking, ridiculous.
Like a joke should be.” Seth slouched with a frown but didn’t throw
the jacket away.

Domenico crooked his head, letting his hands
rest on Seth’s arms. “Seth, you know it wasn’t meant as a friendly
joke?”

Seth gave him that confused llama look.
“Robert wouldn’t do that.”

Dom groaned and let his forehead hit Seth’s
chest. “He was trying to undermine me all evening. If he could
hypnotize you to go to bed with him, he would. Not that it’s that
surprising.”

Seth looked away. “I think he’s just worried,
and now you gave him a reason to be. And don’t flatter me when
we’re arguing,” he added with a scowl.

“No, he was insulting from the first word. I
was trying to be polite and not knock his teeth in.”

“And here it is again! Threats. Can you even
deal with people without bloodshed? It’s all force with you!”

“I did deal with it all evening. You were
next to us.” Domenico crossed his arms on his chest and frowned at
Seth. He needed a cigarette, but he left them in his coat. For
fuck’s sake. “You just chose not to see how aggressive he was.”

Seth sighed and ran his fingers through his
hair. “I’ll talk to him, okay? I knew this would end badly.”

“Stop saying that as if it were my fault,”
growled Domenico. “All your other friends fucking loved me!”

Seth hugged himself under Dom’s jacket. “It
sucks that I can’t tell them what happened.”

Domenico shifted his weight and sighed.
“Don’t insult me in public.”

Seth kicked the slush forming on the pavement
and huffed.

Domenico shook his head. “Let’s go
inside.”

“Why’d you make fun of me? Call me your
fiancé?” Seth didn’t look up at him, standing there in the melting
snow like snowman at the brink of spring.

Domenico gave him a sideways glance. “Because
you are my fiancé.”

“What does that even mean? When did that
happen? Was I conscious?”

Domenico grabbed Seth’s hand and held it up
so that Seth would see both of their rings. This was unbelievable.
And it was Seth who came up with it in the first place.

“I kinda… I didn’t… Oh,” Seth muttered,
staring at their hands.

Domenico smiled to himself, brushing his
finger over Seth’s signet. “It was quite a romantic moment. To
surprise me like that...”

“It was the best part of that shitty day.”
Seth’s lips finally started forming a smile. “I’ll tell Robert
what’s what, yeah? Don’t worry.” He bent down to Dom and kissed his
lips.

Dom stiffened, unsure if they should be doing
this in the street, but couldn’t bring himself to move away and
tasted those sweet, luscious lips. Even through the tang of beer,
they were pure nectar. “All right.”

“And no more ear stuff, yeah?” Seth moved on
to hug Dom and the Armani jacket fell into the slush.

Domenico reached his hand out and froze, as
it was too late anyway.
For fuck’s sake
. “That’s my newest
suit...”

Seth chuckled. “I love you.”

Domenico’s chest tightened. It was impossible
to be angry at someone who just confessed love to you. “Then pick
it up?”

Seth grinned and bent to get the garment.
Before Dom knew what Seth was doing, Seth put the wet, dirty thing
over his shoulders. He brushed some slush off Dom’s shoulder.
“There.” His smile widened.

Domenico cringed, looking at the dark stains
on his shirt. The cold wetness seeped through and was now making
his whole body stiffen. “You’re doing this on purpose,” he said
through clenched teeth.

Seth blinked a few times and shook his head.
“I would never.” He took a step back and to Dom’s surprise,
sprinted down the street, splashing dirt all around him.

Some people looked back at him, but Dom
wouldn’t let that stop him and followed, bringing his body into the
perfect position for maximum speed. Seth’s silhouette was still
ahead of him, but he wouldn’t lose him. This was insane.

Dom felt as if someone had dumped him into a
strange movie, where chaos reigned over script. And Seth was the
god of chaos.

Seth laughed, running down the street in the
middle of the night, uncaring of the snow or cold. At one point he
almost fell over, but only laughed harder. “I’ll pay for your dry
cleaning!” he yelled.

Domenico didn’t bother to try to understand
his lover’s reasoning, speeding up to catch him. The bastard
deserved a spanking. And Dom deserved a chance to knead that juicy
ass.

As soon as he got a hold of Seth, wrapping
his arms around Seth’s waist, his lover stopped and gave him a
kiss. “I lost. What’s my penance?”

Dom drew in a sharp breath, mesmerized.
Wide-eyed, he looked around for a semi-private spot. “I’m going to
fuck your ass, come inside, and then put your briefs back on
without cleaning you up.”

Seth bit his upper lip, but that still
couldn’t hide the smile on his face. “Oh, no!” he exclaimed and
pulled Dom into a back alley.

The god of chaos was the best fuck ever.

Chapter
11

“Yeah, I’ve been quite busy lately. Maybe
I’ll manage to get back in January,” Seth told Lucrezia, from his
spot on the sofa. This was his least favorite part of being away.
Having to report back every now and then. He hated how it reminded
him that what he had with Dom couldn’t last forever. That they
could joke about being engaged but would never get married. Not
that he wanted to, but he enjoyed it as a concept.

“That would be sweet, Seth. It must be cold
out there.”

Ah, the weather talk. He missed that.
Not.

“Yeah, we keep having snow…”

He frowned when he noticed Dom walk over to
the telescope and look into it. Seth threw a T-shirt at him.

“I think you’ll relax once you come home,”
she said with just the right amount of enthusiasm. Thank God, there
was no sexy talk with her. “I chose all the furniture for our home.
Would you like to see the photos? If you give me your e-mail, I
could send them to you.”

“Yeah, sure, I’d love to. I know yours, so
I’ll e-mail you first. Can’t wait to see them.”

He wondered if this conversation was as
tedious for her as it was for him. He needed to go anyway if he
wasn’t to be late for meeting with Robert. And as if his day
couldn’t get any worse, Domenico started grinning at him and
pointing to the window, which meant that he probably saw Peter and
Zachary having sex again.

“The only thing I didn’t yet pay for is the
furniture for your office, so maybe browse the Internet to choose
something?

“Sure, I’ll have a look and e-mail you about
those as well. I gotta go or I’m not gonna get to the stores on
time. Always lovely to hear from you, sweetie.” Seth mentally
slapped himself. This was so wrong. As soon as they ended the
conversation, he looked over at Dom.

“Stop perving at them!”

“But they’re hilarious. I wonder how your ex
can even breathe under his new cow... bull.” He grinned and
yawned.

Seth bit his lip and got up to get a bit
closer. “It’s none of your business. Nor should you be watching
them.”

Dom dropped to the couch with a smile.
“Shouldn’t they close the curtains?”
