Hidden Alpha [Alpha Mates] (Siren Publishing Ménage Amour) (9 page)

At that moment, she was sure he was lying to her. There was no way this was going to pass. Tears started spilling down her cheeks. “You’re too big. There is no way you’re going to fit.”

He smiled at her and chuckled, saying, “You say such nice things to me, sweetie. But I promise we will fit together just fine. Just relax and breathe with me. I’m going to move just a little bit. As soon as I’m all the way in, you will get used to it, and I promise you will love it.” Devlin laughed, and it was enough to take her mind off the pain for a second to look at him. “What’s so funny?” she asked.

Devlin kissed her gently on the lips before answering. “He told me the same thing the first time he made love to me. He was right, though, little one. Once you get used to his size, it is amazing. There isn’t another feeling out there quite like Chase deep inside you, making you fly to the heavens and back.”

She felt her face flush. From the romance books she had read, she knew that it probably hurt much more for Devlin the first time Chase claimed him than it did her. If Devlin said it would be worth it, she could let Chase keep going and make her “fly” as Devlin said.
They haven’t steered me wrong yet.

She looked up into Chase’s eyes. “Make me fly, my love.” Chase seemed to study her face as he slowly started rocking his hips. As he moved, he pushed a little farther into her before pulling almost all the way out each time. Devlin was right. The more he pushed in, the more her body relaxed and seemed to mold around his cock. When he was all the way in, he stopped moving again and just kissed her. “Thank you,
milaya
, for honoring me with being the first to make love to you.” He leaned over and kissed Devlin, and she felt her pussy squeeze him. Seeing the two of them kiss each other really turned her on. Chase whispered, “Thank you for letting me be her first. I know it was your right as alpha, and I will never be able to thank you enough for allowing this pleasure.”

Devlin kissed him back. “Anything for my mates. You found her and brought her into our life. This honor should be yours.” Devlin nuzzled her neck while Chase claimed her lips again.

Chase asked, “Are you okay, baby? It doesn’t hurt anymore, right?”

She nodded her head slightly then shook it. She wasn’t sure which question he wanted answered, but she didn’t trust her voice not to break with the emotions she was feeling. When he still paused, she whispered, “I’m fine. It feels amazing.”

He kissed her. “If you think this is amazing, wait a minute. It gets better. I promise.” He started moving, and he hadn’t been kidding. As he pulled out and gently thrust back in, nerves she didn’t know existed came to life. She stared up into his eyes as he thrust into her over and over again. His speed increased, and she figured he must be close. She knew she was and would be coming any second now.

Somewhere in the back of her brain, she heard the word “submit.” She wasn’t sure how, but she knew what it meant by it. She tilted her head to the left and back to give him access to her neck. He growled as he dipped his head and licked where her shoulder met her neck. He had shown her earlier that he could extend his canines, and they would be the teeth he would use to claim her and mark her as his forever. She felt his canines gently scrape her neck. His name left her lips just as he sunk his teeth deep into her flesh and started swallowing. When his canines punctured her skin, it pushed her over the edge. She felt like her body was being torn from the bed, and she was suddenly floating.
So, this is what Devlin meant about flying.
She knew if he wasn’t lying on top of her, she would have floated away into the heavens.

She couldn’t do anything but feel. Every part of her body was hypersensitive. She felt his canines retract, and he licked her neck, setting off more tremors through her whole body. When he lifted his head and actually howled, she went over the edge once more and thought maybe she had let out a howl herself. He collapsed on top of her. She lazily ran her fingers over the muscles of his back while he lightly licked the mark he had left on her neck. Every touch of his tongue went straight to her clit. He chuckled, and she knew he could feel her body clenching.

Chase lifted his head and kissed her lips gently. “Thank you,
milaya
. I can’t put into words how amazing that was. I will love you always.”

She felt tears prick her eyes again. “I love you, too. Thank you for making my first time so special.” She looked over at Devlin, who had tears rolling down his cheeks. “But it’s not over yet, right? I still have one more mate to claim me?”

Devlin nodded and kissed her. “That was the most beautiful thing I have ever witnessed in my life. I love you both so much. And no, my little one, it is not over. If you are still okay, it would be my honor to claim you.”

“Please claim me, Devlin. Make me yours, too. Forever.” She pulled his mouth down to hers.

Chase pulled out of her carefully, wrapped his arms around her, and took her with him when he rolled off her. She was lying on top of him, straddling his waist, and knew that meant Devlin was going to take her from behind. She looked at Chase and raised her brow. Chase just chuckled. “You’ll like it, I promise.”

She was nervous but nodded her head. She felt Chase spread his legs to make room for Devlin between them, which spread her legs farther. Devlin started kissing her lower back and worked his way up her spine. When he was leaning completely over her back, she could feel his cock begging entrance to her overly sensitive pussy. Ever so slowly, he started pushing into her.

* * * *

Devlin couldn’t explain his feeling right then if he had to. He had never felt so blessed in his life. He and Chase had been searching for their other mate for eleven years, and now here she was. Watching Chase claim her had to have been the best experience of his life, and now it was his turn. He had meant it when he said he couldn’t thank Chase enough for finding her and bringing her into their life. That was one of the reasons that he wanted Chase to claim her first. It had always been tradition that the alpha was always given the honor to claim the mate first, but if not for Chase, they never would have found her. For that alone, Chase deserved to claim her first. The other reason was that Devlin was not really known for his gentleness. Devlin wanted her first time to be special and knew that Chase would be the perfect male to provide her with the gentleness she needed. He was right. She had thanked Chase for making it special for her.

Devlin looked over her shoulder at Chase kissing her neck where his mating mark was and forever would be, and he felt her pussy spasm around the tip of his cock. When they made eye contact, Chase winked and leaned his head back. Devlin reached out and gathered her hair up to move to the right side of her neck over Chase’s mark so he could mark her in the same spot on the other side. As he was moving her hair, his fingers brushed against her neck, and he felt something rough on her skin. Almost like a scar. He smoothed her hair over her right shoulder and saw there was a scar on her neck. He bent to kiss it until he realized what it was and froze.
What the hell?

His hand tightened in her hair, and she flinched, but he couldn’t relax his fingers to let her go. She had been kissing Chase, and Devlin’s hand in her hair pulled her head back. Chase narrowed his eyes at him and growled before saying, “What are you doing? You’re hurting her.”

Devlin couldn’t speak, and he couldn’t move. He just stared at the mark on her neck. It was a mating mark. Made by a wolf shifter. He sniffed her neck and growled. He couldn’t smell another male, but the mark was enough to make him see red. His grip tightened. She flinched again, and her whole body went stiff. Devlin turned her head enough for Chase to see what he did. He hoped that Chase would have an explanation for what he was seeing. The only explanation he could come up with is that she had already been claimed by someone. And he had a good idea who that
someone
was. “Look at her neck. Please tell me that’s not what I think it is,” he said through clenched teeth. His gums were starting to ache, and he could feel his canine’s extending.

Chase lifted his head to look at the mark. He said, “Oh gods. It looks like a mating mark. But she’s not mated to anyone. We know that. We were her first. There is no way that she is mated to someone else. She belongs to us.”

“Well, it sure as hell looks like a mating mark to me!” Devlin spat.

Chase reached around Amalya, obviously trying to calm Devlin, and calmly said, “There has to be an explanation. Let’s calm down and talk about this.” Chase looked at Amalya, who was shaking. “Baby girl, where did the bite mark on your neck come from?”

She sniffled and whispered, “Gavin.”

At that one name, Devlin lost it. He released her hair and pulled away from her so fast that she let out a scream as she moved and clenched her legs together, as if in pain. Devlin had forgotten that his cock had been part of the way in her pussy when he pulled away, but he couldn’t bring himself to feel sorry at the moment. She knew that another male had claimed her, and she hadn’t told them.

He jumped up off the bed and started toward the French doors that opened onto the deck. “I have to get out of here,” he said, more to himself than to the other two in the room. With that, he walked out the doors and shifted, heading deep into the woods to sort out what had just happened before he hurt someone. He could hear Chase yelling at him to come back, but he just couldn’t face his two mates right then. He couldn’t believe his mate was already claimed by someone else, especially another alpha.
What are we going to do now?

Chapter 9

Chase was torn between the need to trail Devlin and drag him back to talk this out and to stay and hold the now crying Amalya. He was angry, too. Another male, an alpha, had marked his mate, and he was ready to kill him. Although, unlike Devlin, he wasn’t mad at Amalya. He was furious with Gavin. He could tell by her reaction that she didn’t know what the bite had meant, or she would have told them before, when they had talked to her about the claiming. When Devlin had noticed the mark and asked about it, she was confused. When he had claimed her, he felt the threads of their souls intertwine and could now feel her emotions even stronger.

The pain and sadness he could understand, but he didn’t know where the underlying feeling of guilt was coming from. He tried to pull away a little so he could see her face, but she clung to him as her whole body shook from emotions. He held her for a while, softly rubbing his hands up and down her back while he whispered soothing words to her.

When her body stopped shaking, he loosened his hold and lifted her chin so he could look into her eyes. “Tell me what happened, and we’ll figure it out,” he said as he kissed her forehead.

Her lip trembled as she whispered, “He left us. I thought he loved us. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make him leave. You don’t have to stay here. You can go after him. I will leave so you can be together without me ruining things.”

He brushed his thumb along her bottom lip and replied, “Sweet Amalya, there’s nothing to be sorry for. He does love us and will be back. Now please tell me when and why Gavin marked you as his mate.”

She started crying harder, and he could barely understand her when she said, “I didn’t know that was what he was doing. We were playing around, wrestling like we always did, and he bit me. He said that he got carried away and didn’t mean to hurt me. I thought he was joking when he said, ‘Now everyone will know you belong to me.’” Her whole body went stiff, and she stared at him as if she was looking at an alien. “What do you mean marked me as his mate? Gavin isn’t a wolf. Why would you think that?”

Chase understood her confusion. He had known by her reaction to Dmytri shifting that she knew nothing of shifters. They’d had to explain everything to her about shifters and mates. What he didn’t understand was how and why Gavin had hidden himself from her for so long if they were as close as she had told them. He knew the whole story of how they grew up together and were best friends.

Chase had never met the alpha Gavin, as the wolf had left a year before he and Devlin had moved here and taken over their pack. They had met with the acting alpha, Garrett Knight, from Gavin’s pack, and the other wolf had spoken highly of his alpha. Garrett had told them that Gavin had gone searching for someone, but he wouldn’t tell anyone who he was looking for. He and Devlin had assumed he was on a search for his mates. Now Chase began to wonder if somehow Gavin thought Amalya was one of his mates and had gone looking for the other. However, if that was the case, why hadn’t Gavin claimed her completely and taken her with him? Also, if Gavin had thought her to be his mate what was going to happen when he returned to find her missing from her home and claimed by him? Chase knew that she was his, because if she hadn’t been his true mate, the claiming would not have wound their souls together. So, why did Gavin think she was his and mark her without claiming her? Maybe since she was human she didn’t have
one,
or in their case,
two
true mates. Maybe a human could be a mate to multiple shifters, and the one that found and claimed her first would become her true mate. In the shifter world, once a mate is claimed, they could not be taken away no matter what. That meant that now that he had claimed her, no one, not even alpha Gavin could come between them. Gavin hadn’t fully claimed her, only marked her, so Chase’s claiming should be enough to keep the other wolf away. He wasn’t sure what they were going to do when the other wolf came looking for her, but he knew he would never let her go. Now he just needed to get Devlin back home, explain everything to him, and finished his half of the claiming.

Amalya pulled him out of his thoughts when she asked again, “Why would you think Gavin is a wolf?”
