His Love (By His Command #10) (7 page)

I turned the water on and let it
hit me for a few seconds as I collected my thoughts.

“We’re going to be like this
forever?” I asked.

“Yes,” Jonathan said. “Things will
be confusing for a long time where we were. The fake Isabella won’t last long.
But when they find burned out cars, shallow graves, and other setups with
evidence that matches our dental records, the case will fade in time. I mean,
after all, was there any real importance to Kellen or Katherine?”

I smiled.

Nope.

They were both evil in their own
ways.

“So what happens?” I asked.

“We live. We conduct business. We
enjoy every moment. It’s all here, Isabella. We may have to use different names
but the outcomes will be the same. I am always in control. Even in murder and
even in my own death I’ll be in control.”

The water rushed along my body as I
washed myself. My hands were eager to touch my own body. My chest, stomach,
hips, legs. When the soap rinsed away I touched between my legs. I really felt
alive and well. I felt...

“I’ve been working at a global
empire for a long time,” Jonathan explained. “Not just in the company you know
or everyone thinks they know. The public company will be stripped to pieces.
And that’s fine. My father will be released from jail and will take it all
apart to cash in, to think he’s getting back at me. That’s fine. His time will
come.”

I wiped water from my face and
looked at Jonathan.

We didn’t wear contacts anymore
(that is, unless Jonathan commanded me to so we could roleplay).

His eyes were hurt and angry.

“Jonathan...”

“No, no,” he said. “My days of
murder are done. But there are plenty of people who work for us. Us, Isabella
Grace, us. Just like with the diversions, including the airport. I have it all
under control, all the time.”

Jonathan stepped towards me. His
hands were fast, one hand gripped my ass, the other slipping between my legs.
His fingers grazed my sex and I moaned.

His lips touched my neck.

“Always in control,” he whispered.

“Yes...”

Jonathan took the towel off his
body and stepped into the shower. He pushed me against the wall and I spread my
legs for him. He was hard and ready, again, and he came at me. The thick tip of
his body touched me, spread me, and penetrated me.

The sex was hot and fast, leaving
me wanting more after Jonathan came and left the shower. He couldn’t get enough
and neither could I. Being free left us with less stress and more time and to
focus on our erotic needs.

I finished showering and I went
into the bedroom and stood at the window, looking out to waves crashing against
rocks. The water was so blue it looked fake. I never believed that water like
this actually existed. The kind where you could see right to the bottom. To
have schools of fish swim around you. We had a private beach and there were two
pools in the back. One pool was connected to a bar in the water and was close
to the back of the house. The second pool was built against the edge of the
property, dropping off at least fifteen feet to the beach. If you looked at the
edge of the pool while swimming it gave the illusion you’d fall off the cliff.

It was too much to honestly accept,
but I’d learn to accept it.

Jonathan stepped up behind me, now
fully dressed in black pants and a white shirt. But no tie. I looked back at
him, seeing him as the same Jonathan Black that created the deepest of all
obsessions in my body and heart. He had overtaken my life and I didn’t care. It
was everything I wanted. I had nothing waiting back in my old life.

“What are you thinking?” Jonathan
asked.

“I’m thinking this can’t be real.
This place. Us. Our life.”

“It is real. Everything with me is
real.”

“And to survive?”

“Everyone knows me as a long time
investor.”

“Long time investor?”

Jonathan smiled. “Isabella Grace,
from the second I saw you, I knew I’d eventually take you away and keep you as mine
forever. There wasn’t a doubt in my heart or mind. I’ve taken hundreds of trips
to this very place. I’ve established myself. Nobody doubts me or questions me.
As far anyone knows, I’m just some smart investor with millions in the bank.”

“Millions,” I whispered. The
thought of money came to me and I hated to bring it up. “Do we... I mean,
you...”

“Do I have millions?”

I nodded.

“No,” Jonathan said. “The company
is gone. Along with my share of it. The world can consider me dead.”

My heart sank.

I hadn’t thought about it that way.
Disappearing seemed so easy, but there was so much waiting in the background of
it. We needed to survive.

“Oh, Isabella, look at your face,”
Jonathan whispered. “You’re scared right now.”

“Yes,” I admitted. “I’ve ruined
your life. Your money. Your company. Your... everything.”

“You are my everything,” Jonathan
said. “Look out to the world. We have it now.”

I looked to the water again and
felt tears coming to my eyes. I believed Jonathan loved me but how fair was it
for him to do all this for me? To literally lose it all...

“You asked me if I had millions,”
Jonathan said.

“Yes,” I replied.

“I don’t.”

I swallowed.

I already knew that.

Why would he repeat that?

I saw the faintest of reflections
against the glass. I saw Jonathan’s hand moving, holding a piece of paper. He
put it near my shoulder and I turned my head.

“Look.”

I did. I read it once and didn’t
quite understand it all. So I looked again. I took the paper into my hands and
studied it. It was very basic. Anyone could understand what it meant. But I had
to read it three more times before I felt my knees buckle.

I dropped the paper and Jonathan
caught me.

He put me to the bed.

I was on my back, trying to process.

He hovered over me, calling my name
over and over.

“I’m here,” I said. “I’m right
here...”

“You understand?” he asked.

“That says three... billion...”

Jonathan smiled. “My reserve money.
In case I ever got into a pinch. Or fell in love. Or fell in love and decided
to leave the world be. Because in my heart, there’s only control for one... and
that’s you...”

“You’re a billionaire still,” I
said.

“No. We’re billionaires, Isabella
Grace.”

“We’re...”

“But of course, there are rules,”
Jonathan said.

His left hand touched my face. His
right hand touched the top of my towel.

“Rules...”

“You will obey every order of
mine,” Jonathan said. He pulled at the towel. It slowly opened. “You resist and
there’s punishment. Do you understand?”

“Yes, Mr. Black,” I said.

“Good girl, Isabella.”

He opened my towel and looked at my
clean, nude body.

“Now... for the next hour I’m going
to taste every part of your body... and then you’ll do the same to me...”

I nodded.

Jonathan placed his lips to mine.
There’s where he’d start but not where he’d finish.

My mind raced as fast as my heart
did.

But one thing made sense.

I now completely understood the
purpose of my life.

To live... to love... to exist...

PREVIEW OF THE FIRST
BOOK IN THE NEXT ANA FAWKES SERIES – WITH THE ROCKSTAR!

ONE NIGHT STAND
WITH THE ROCKSTAR

________

It
was soul crushing.

Jessica
saw the look on the man’s face and knew the answer wasn’t going to be what she
wanted or expected. Rockstars. They made commitments and broke them all the
time. Some took the stage hours late, some never took the stage at all. Some
were just selfish and liked to see people suffer in any way possible.

“I’m
sorry,” Jerry said in a typical band manager I’m-pretending-I-give-a-shit
voice. “Slader is going on early actually. We just don’t have time.”

“Two
minutes,” Jessica said.

“No.”

Jerry
turned and left.

This
wasn’t a negotiation, this was a decision. A final decision.

Jessica
took the lonely walk down the hall, debating on whether to stay and see the
show. She also started to think about her monthly financial report at work.
When she called Mr. Plink to tell him she didn’t get the story, it would be
right back to her normal duties... hell, even if she came with a story, she’d
still be an assistant.

A
whistle echoed down the hall as Jessica caught herself slowing. A feeling came
over her a second before she heard the whistle. Like someone was watching her.
Like someone was waiting for her.

She
looked over her shoulder and saw someone standing in the hall.

Tall,
broad, dark, and sexy.

It
was Alex Slader.

Jessica
just stood in place. Her mind spun. Do something. Say hello. Run towards him.
If anything, at least channel the music fan and ask for a damn autograph.

But
Jessica couldn’t.

“Who
are you?” Slader called down the hall.

His
voice - even just talking - was deep and alluring. It matched the lyrical
beauty he brought to his songs and shows.

Jessica
took a breath. She reminded herself she was meant for this. She was meant to be
near Slader. To talk to him. To learn. To write something that nobody ever had
before.

“I’m
Jessica,” she said. “I just wanted to introduce myself. Talk for a minute
even.”

“Come
closer to me,” Slader commanded.

And
just like that Jessica felt as though her innocence was a visible badge. She
thought herself to be strong willed, but not when it came to this. In fact, the
last man to actually touch her body was almost six months ago. A short fling
that served its purpose of attempted pleasure.

Jessica
walked towards Slader. The hall had light and of course Slader stood right
under one of the lights, letting its tone glide along the muscles of his body.
Slader was a wonder. His physical size. His wealth. His passion for music. He
was a dream brought to life. They were the only two people in the hall and when
Jessica was close enough to smell him - his clothes, his skin - she stopped and
waited.

She
was entranced by the rockstar before her.

“Look
at you,” Slader said.

His
eyes were wide. Almost surprised.

“You’re
beautiful.”

Jessica
gasped. “I’m here to talk...”

“Of
course,” Slader said.

Behind
Slader, voices kicked up. Jessica saw two men holding guitars talking with a
third man on his knees with a flashlight in his mouth and a roll of tape in his
hands. Slader looked back and then at Jessica.

“Come
in,” he said. “Talk.”

Jessica
followed the intensely sexy rockstar into the room and waited for him to direct
her where to sit. He pointed to a couch and she sat. She let her bag fall to
the floor. No need for a tape recorder. A notebook. Nothing. Jessica had her
mind. Her eyes. And right then, she studied and began to quickly memorize the
stunning features that Slader had to offer. Most pictures of him were on stage.
The dark lighting offering not much of a look, leaving the mind to conjure up
what the man would look like. Pictures of Slader in the studio were often at a
distance, a man deep in musical thought.

But
to be here, a few feet away...

Jessica
looked at the structure of his face. The perfection of his jaw, meant for the
soft touch of fingertips. The deepness of his eyes, meant to explore anything
he wanted. As Jessica felt herself getting warm... and wet... she quickly
looked away, needing to settle and do her job.

“Jessica,”
Slader said. “You look like a Jessica.”

“You
look like a Slader.”

Slader
smiled. “There is no other Slader.”

“I
know,” Jessica said. “That’s what I mean.”

“Are
you a fan, Jessica? Of Ashes in Vain? Or are you here to step on me... to write
literary prose of the way I talk, I act, and how I will someday disappear, die
alone, horde my fortune, never share my heart...”
