Soon he began caressing her breasts, letting the soft weight fall into his hands. A sensual moan escaped her lips, and she brought his lips to hers once again. She removed her hand from his throbbing cock and in a swift motion, removed all of her clothing. Liam's gasp at her nudity was almost noiseless. During their lovemaking last night she had gotten naked, but here and now it was daylight, and the image before him was erotic and stunning.

Her hands slid up to his shoulders and her eyes gazed deeply into his. He knew what she wanted, and he was happy that he was the one who would give it to her. "Show me," she said and gently pushed down on his shoulders easing him to his knees. He felt the heat of her radiating in front of his face. Her smooth, velvet opening was glistening and wet. He leaned in and began kissing her, his kisses soon turned to licks as she ran her fingers through his hair. They both began to moan, Aurora because it felt so good, and Liam because he'd never tasted anything so exquisite. Her moans turned him on even more and he began to lap his tongue up inside her. She pressed her hips to his face and moved him in closer. After some time she reached down and put her hands under his arms, pulling him up. "Get on the bed," she told him.

A slow, erotic growl escaped her mouth as she took off his boxer briefs, and let his hard cock bounce free. Aurora slithered up his leg and started licking him until she reached her prize. She smiled before letting her soft lips sink around it. She sucked him slowly, feeling him harden perfectly in her mouth...harder than he'd been in ages. She then climbed on top and straddled him. His cock slid inside of her. She leaned down and kissed him, she could taste and smell her scent on his face and in his mouth. She looked very pleased with herself and him.

She then wrapped her fingers around the back of his neck and gazed boldly into his eyes. "Why is it that I can't seem to get enough of you?" She asked him. Liam couldn't answer, he reached up and grabbed hold of her butt as she began to grind him harder and faster. He knew that Aurora was one woman who always got what she wanted, and at the moment she wanted him, and he would make sure that her every need and desire was fulfilled. The more she rode him the more he felt as if he was on the edge of a cliff. He grabbed hold of her hips and started thrusting into her. Aurora moaned in pleasure as he felt her erupt all around him. And when she did, she took him right along with her. She fell onto his strong chest and both breathed heavily at their afternoon excursion. "That makes two workouts for me today." She grinned and starting kissing his neck. The woman held a power over him like no other. "Now what was it that you came here for?" She asked. He could feel her desire to get up and leave, but this time he wasn’t going to let her go so easily. "Oh no you don’t," he said when she tried to get out of bed. He wrapped his hands around her waist and pulled her to him. "Why do you do that?"

She gave him a quizzical look. "Do what?"

"Don’t give me that, you know what I'm talking about Aurora. Stay, please stay and talk to me."

Aurora could see the need in his eyes, he wanted more than just an afternoon fuck. But she had things to do, she couldn’t laze around in bed with Liam Hunt all day, no matter how appealing he looked or sounded. She shrugged him off of her. "Liam, I've got things to do and you have to leave. You weren’t even invited," she said and headed towards the shower. "When I come out I'll expect you to be gone," she said and shut the bathroom door behind her. Liam wasn’t about to leave, there was no way he was going to be dismissed by her. Even if it was her place, he'd wait for her to get out of the bathroom and when she did, he was going to make her talk to him. He wanted to know everything about her, and he wanted to tell her everything about himself too. That's how starting a relationship worked, you ask questions. He could hear the shower turn on and for a moment thought about joining her. A heavy pounding on the door forced him to think again. "Someone's knocking at your door!" He shouted."

"Why aren’t you gone yet? Well don’t just sit there, see who it is."

Well at least she asked me to answer the door,
he thought to himself.
She's not worried about me being here.

Nick was surprised to see Liam answer the door. He raised an eyebrow before speaking. "Is Aurora around?" He looked Liam square in the eye. Nick wondered what this guy had that he didn’t. Why had she been so willing to give it a go with this guy? This stranger whom she'd just met.

"Yeah, she's just upstairs taking a shower. You want to come back?"

Nick shook his head. "I'm afraid this isn’t a social call. I'll wait." Liam stepped aside and motioned for Nick to come in. "I'll just go and tell her that you’re here," he then took off up the stairs.

Aurora had just gotten out of the shower, and when she opened the door, he watched as the steam escaped and she stepped out. "Liam I thought I…"

"Aurora, I'm not leaving, and Officer Barek is here, he says that it's important."

Her heart began to pound, her hands tightened around her towel and her legs felt weak. Anytime that Nick had anything important to tell her, it gave her the jitters. She hadn't even been able to bask in the afterglow of the lovemaking that she and Liam had just had. "Fine, just let me get dressed", she said and hastily put on a pair of panties. Liam couldn’t help but stare. "You have the most amazing body," he grinned and made a move towards her. She put her hand against his chest stopping him. "Not now Liam," she said and finished getting dressed. Liam followed her down the stairs where they found Nick sitting uncomfortably at the kitchen table. He tilted his head towards Aurora. "Aurora, I wondered if I might speak to you alone," he said and glanced at Liam.

When Liam made no motions to leave, Aurora told Nick that it was okay.

Nick stood up and began pacing the room. "I don’t know how to tell you this Aurora, but it seems that sometime between yesterday and early this morning, Ken Holmes was murdered."

Aurora took a step back. "What? How?" She took a deep breath and expelled it. Then she put her hand over her mouth. "Surely you don’t think that I had anything to do with it Nick do you?" Her voice rose to a panic.

Nick shook his head. "Of course not Aurora but I've come to take you to the station. We're gonna need to get your statement. Some of his buddies said that you threatened him at the lumberyard the other day and well…"

Liam interrupted. "Excuse me officer but I was with her and she made no such threat." His temper was rising, and he hoped that he could hold his tongue for Aurora's sake.

Nick turned and looked at her, his gaze skeptical. "So you're telling me that you didn’t tell Ken that you hoped that someone teaches him a lesson? One that he'll never forget?" At that moment Aurora wished she'd just walked away, and she thought it nice what Liam was trying to do. "It's okay Liam," she said and placed a hand on his shoulder before turning back to Nick. "Yes I told him that Nick, but I didn’t mean that I was going to be the one to do anything. Please, this is all a misunderstanding you have to know that." She pleaded.

"I'm sure it is, but I've still got orders to bring you in for questioning." Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Mari and Rosie coming down the garden path that led to her door. "I'll bring her down to the station officer, we'll follow you in my car," Liam stood next to Aurora. "Unless you're placing her under arrest and if that's the case then you need to Mirandize her."

Nick took a defensive step closer towards Liam. "I know how to do my job Mr. Hunt," he snapped.

"Stop it, the both of you. I'm volunteering to go down to the station," she said.

"What the hell is going on?" Mari asked. She and Rosie happened in on the conversation.

"Where the hell are you taking her?"

"It's just a simple misunderstanding ladies. Officer Barek needs for me to go down to the station and answer a few questions. It seems that a man was murdered, and people seem to think that I had something to do with it."

"That's ridiculous!" Mari shouted. "Did you tell him that you were on a date last night?" She looked around the room and glared at Nick.

"The exact time of death hasn’t been determined yet Miss Carr, but I assure you this is all routine, it won't take long. She'll be back very soon, you have my word." Nick hoped that he sounded sincere because he meant it. He didn’t want to take her down to the station at all, but his sheriff had insisted. And he knew why too. Aurora Collins was not a favorite among many of the men in the small town and his sheriff was one of those men.

"Let's get this over with," Aurora said and headed towards the door.

She gave Rosie and Mari a reassuring smile before getting into Liam's car.

Liam had driven out of the driveway before deciding to talk. "I can get you the best lawyer if you need one Aurora you just say the word," he said and glanced in her direction. She'd been staring out the window, and when she turned her attention towards him he could see the tears in her eyes, it was the first time that she'd shown any vulnerability. "Thank you but I haven’t done anything wrong," she said and returned her gaze to the passing tree lined streets. They'd be at the station soon, and she hoped that she would be able to keep it together long enough to answer whatever idiotic questions they planned on asking her.

"I know you haven’t done anything wrong, but I still think that you need a lawyer Aurora. They're going to try to railroad you and I won't let that happen." Aurora heard the seriousness in his voice and secretly she was glad that he'd volunteered to bring her down to the station. "I bet you're sorry you came over aren’t you?" She tried to sound lighthearted.

"Now is not the time for jokes Aurora, but for the record, there is no place I'd rather be. Remember that the next time you try to push me away, because no matter how hard you push, I'm not going to budge," he said and took her hand in his. "You won't have to go through this alone," he said and gave her a kiss.

Chapter Seven

Three hours later, Liam and Aurora left the police station. She'd been drilled by the sheriff and a couple of detectives, and by the time they finished questioning her, she was tired and emotionally drained. She thanked Liam for being so patient and waiting for her.

"I don’t know how this happened" she told him. "The guy got murdered and everybody automatically blames me. I bet they haven’t even thought about questioning anybody else." She was angry now and with good reason. The sheriff had tried to get her to say that she wanted Ken Holmes dead, and that after her date she'd gone over to his place and done the deed. But no matter how hard they tried to get her to admit her extreme hatred for the man, she managed to stay calm and focused. She told them that her alibi was sitting out in the waiting area, and when they asked her what she did after things died down, she told them that she'd gone to her apartment, taken a hot bath and crawled into bed. She almost slapped the sheriff when he asked if she'd gone to bed alone. "Didn’t I just tell you that I had a date earlier, and when he brought me home, we saw Mari's husband in my driveway, in violation of a restraining order I might add. And once that was taken care of, my date left and I spent the rest of the evening alone. So if you're implying that I had someone else over sheriff you are mistaken. It might be customary for you to bed hop but not me," she told him, her voice fierce. She was pretty sure that her remark was the reason they'd decided to question her for another two hours.

The last thing they told her was not to leave town. The sheriff then proceeded to follow her out into the lobby where Liam was waiting. "And if I were you," the sheriff said. "I would think twice before opening my big mouth."

Liam clenched his fists and put his arm around Aurora. "Well then I guess it's a good thing that you aren’t me," she said and walked out of the station.

When they got in the car, Aurora told Liam to bring her back to his place. She had no desire to go back home, she would call Mari and tell them that she'd be staying the night at Liam's place and if they had any problems they were to call Nick direct. "He's on duty tonight so I'm sure he'll be passing by," Aurora told Mari. "And don’t worry, Ronnie is still in custody." She reassured her friend.

When she was finished with her conversation she turned her attention to Liam. "Thank you for letting me stay here tonight. I appreciate it."

"It's my pleasure," he said. He wanted to tell her that he was ecstatic about her staying. This was his chance to get to know her on more than just a sexual level. "I hope that maybe tonight, we can talk, get to know one another?" His eyes held the slightest hint of worry. But when she smiled and nodded her head the doubt left him. It was as if the trip to the station had caused her to want to be more forthcoming and open. I'm not going to question the sudden change, he thought to himself. Now is my chance to get to know her, and I'm not going to blow it.

He'd stopped at a light, and his thoughts wandered to what they would do once they got back to his place. He would cook for her, and then after they finished eating he would get her to open up. There was nothing he wanted more than to get to know her better. Aurora was a woman, a real woman. She was a woman of substance, and in every way his life seemed to crash with hers bringing back memories of his childhood that he'd long since tried to bury away.

He took a deep breath after stealing a fleeting glance at her. God she's beautiful. He licked his lips at the thought of being in between her legs again. Maybe tonight, after we've talked she'll let me indulge her again.

Once she walked out of the station, Sheriff Rafferty instructed one of his detectives to do some digging into the life of Aurora Collins. He wanted to know any and everything about the woman. "How far back do you want me to dig Sheriff?" the detective asked.

"I want you to dig until you find something, anything about that woman. She's got a past, and I want to know everything that happened in it."

"Yes sir," the detective said.

Feeling a bit unnerved by all that happened over the last couple of days; Mari decided to give Nick a call. She'd been attracted to the man and she was tired of waiting to see if he was attracted to her as well.
