As just one example, Dr. Peter Duignan of the Hoover Institution has authored or co-authored a number of works on Africa which have been praised in scholarly journals around the world over a period of a quarter of a century, but he has never been on the faculty of any college or university. At a time when recognized authorities who are liberal professors are being forced out of ideologically sensitive courses on race and ethnicity for not being far enough to the left—Stephan Thernstrom at Harvard and Reynolds Farley at Michigan being liberals—there is little or no prospect of many conservative scholars being hired to contribute to the “diversity” so loudly proclaimed and so little in evidence intellectually.
