Nicole gazed at Tyler, and her eyes were
filled with fear and shock. She nodded slowly and spoke in a soft
voice, trying to keep calm. “Okay.”

“You remember what we told you?” said the
bandit standing with Tyler. He slapped a small USB key against
Tyler’s chest. “Transfer 50 million dollars to the bank accounts
here. No cops. If we don’t have the money by sunrise, we’re going
to feed your whore to the sharks.”

“But I don’t have access to that much
money,” Tyler told him. “My brother runs the company...”

“Then call your fucking brother!” the bandit
screamed. He gestured to the man holding Nicole, and pointed off
the ship. “Get her out of here.”

Nicole gasped as the man began pushing and
dragging her off the ship. “Tyler!” she said frantically. “What is
this? What’s happening?”

“Don’t worry!” he called out to her. “I’ll
find a way to make sure you’re safe. Whatever it takes.”

She didn’t have time to respond before she
found herself forced off the large yacht and onto a small dinghy.
She was pushed roughly down onto the floor of the boat as one of
the men began tying rope around her wrists. Nicole felt the small
boat swaying dangerously, and she did not feel that it was safe for
the ocean. She realized that if it capsized, she would not be able
to swim with her hands tied. This thought made her gasp and
struggle.

“Please,” she told the men. “Please don’t
tie me up.”

The bandit lifted a hand and slapped her
across the face. “Shut up, whore. Or I’ll gag you, too.” The bandit
noticed the glimmer of white gold around Nicole’s neck. He reached
out to grasp the ruby with lust in his eyes. “This looks
expensive,” he said greedily, before brutally yanking the chain off
Nicole’s neck. He shoved the necklace into his pocket.

“No,” Nicole whispered as tears filled her
eyes. “Please; that was a gift.”

The man laughed derisively as he turned to
help his friends climb aboard the small craft.

“Stop worrying about your stupid jewels and
start worrying about your life,” the man advised. “We’ll soon see
how much your boyfriend cares about you.”

“He’s not my boyfriend,” Nicole said as she
leaned against the side of the boat and looked up at the yacht. The
men had begun to steer the small craft away from the larger one,
and she could see the silhouette of Tyler standing on the railing
and looking out toward her. “You guys screwed up. I’m just a random
tourist he was fucking. He isn’t going to pay anything to rescue
me.”

One of the men shrugged. “You better hope he
does. We’ll give him a few hours. If we don’t get the money soon,
we’re going to slit your throat.”
