She felt him probe her gently with his cock, searching for her opening. Finally finding it, he gasped loudly as he entered her. He released her hands and wrapped a hand around her hips, the other going to her breast as she pushed her ass out to force him deep.

She pinned his ass against the wall, his passions soaring as she pressed hard back into him. He needed a moment to cool his ardor, taking the time to softly stroke her with a finger. She gasped and began to buck and jerk, thrusting her ass against him, her movements sending searing pleasure through him.

His touch was electric, the feel of his cock in her pussy, the gentle stroking of his finger, the touch of his lips and tongue on her back making her lunge and buck as pleasure tried to overwhelm her, but she wanted more
.
She took a half-step sideways and the water from the shower began splattering on her back and ass like rain. She moaned, pushing herself off the wall, his hand gathering her up and holding her tight before he began roughly massaging her breast. And, still, she wanted more. Moaning softly, she began to squirm on his cock, desperate to feel him moving within, her arm reaching behind her to pull his mouth to hers, her other hand going to her womanhood to press his finger into her harder. She moaned again, thrusting her hips harder, wanting even more.

Winter was going wild; her gyrating hips, the press of her hand onto his, her kiss, the feel of the water cascading off their bodies were all making him crazed with desire. He shoved her forward to gain some space as he bent over her back, thrusting into her hard and fast as he tickled her with his finger.

“Don’t stop,” she gasped, her hand leaving his to hold herself against the wall. “Please, don’t stop!”

He pounded into her a moment longer then felt her stiffen and push hard back into him, once again pinning him to the wall as she continued to massage her clit with his finger.

She wanted to scream, to cry her pleasure to the world, but her climax had taken her breath. She stood, every muscle straining as her rapture raged through her, his finger driving her orgasm on and on until she was sure her heart would burst.

“Oh God!” she gasped, her legs suddenly weak. She was certain she’d have fallen had Kade not been there to catch her. She gasped and panted as he pulled her up straight and held her to him as his lips slowly kissing her neck.

He pulled out of her, holding her snugly, smiling to himself as she bobbed slightly as if her legs weren’t working properly, a faint shudder rippling through her body. “You okay?” She still hadn’t made much noise, but it was obvious she just had a mind-wringing orgasm.

“Oh God,” she repeated. “Just give me a second.” After a moment, strength returned to her legs and she turned in his arms to kiss him, wanting, needing, to feel his mouth on hers. She’d had hard orgasms before, but that one took the prize and had left her feeling totally drained.

“Oh, you’re a wicked, wicked, man,” she purred as she pulled out of his embrace, stepping under the shower to rinse again. “Did you come?”

“No.”

She smiled at him as she pulled him under the shower to rinse, then melted into him again. “Oh, you will,” she breathed before kissing him thoroughly. She could stop right now and sleep like the dead, but she wasn’t going to leave him hanging, and she wanted to see what other surprises he had for her.

They finished showering, and he was thankful for the break, the pause giving him time to cool his raging desire. She’d climaxed only moments before he’d have passed the point of no return, and he wasn’t ready for the evening to be over. He turned the water off and, then, as she rung water out of her hair, pulled a fresh towel from the cabinet to carefully pat her dry.

She allowed him to dry her, his tender ministrations making her feel special and, something—loved, perhaps, even though she knew he didn’t love her. Nobody had bathed her since she was a toddler and she found the whole experience very sensual.

They brushed their teeth, and she was already in bed when he finally appeared, having taken extra time to shave. He settled into the bed beside her and scooted in close before pulling her in for a long kiss.

“What would you say if I told you I was in love?” she asked with a grin.

He chuckled. “You are? With who?”

She giggled. “Okay, maybe not in love, but damn! What you do to me. You cook for me, bathe me, protect me from bad guys, and then at night make me come so damn hard! Last night was fantastic, but just now?
Woo
.” She fanned her face with her hands as she grinned. “I’ve never come so hard or so fast in my life. I’m going to sleep like a bear tonight.”

He chuckled as she raved. “That good, huh?”

“Oh…
yeah
!”

“Maybe I should charge more for the extra service.”

She grinned. “Maybe. Or, perhaps, we can take it out in trade.”

He bobbed his head as he made a thinking face. “Maybe. What did you have in mind?”

“Let me show you. Just lay back and let me take care of you,” she said as she pushed him over to his back and began to kiss down his body. He’d softened somewhat but she’d only reached his stomach before he’d returned to full hardness.
Good boy
,
she cooed to herself as she gradually worked her way lower.

He sighed softly as her warm, wet mouth enveloped him. After last night he was well aware of her skills and he hoped she wouldn’t finish him with her mouth. He was like most men and believed any orgasm was a good orgasm, but he wanted to make love to her again tonight to see if he could recapture that special something he’d felt last night. It had been enchanting and she’d touched him in a way no one had before. He wanted to see if there was something there or it was just his need last night to feel close to someone, to balm his pain that made him feel the way he had. The shower had been fun, but that was just sex, and hadn’t touched his emotional core the way last night had.

She could feel the tension in his body as she sucked and licked, kissed and stroked, enjoying his soft gasps and quiet hisses of pleasure. She’d thought she was done, her previous orgasm taking so much out of her she was sure she’d need a few hours to recover, but pleasing him had reignited her desire. He tugged her away from his manhood, pulling her up and taking her lips for his own, kissing her deeply.

“I want you,” he whispered as he gently held her face.

“I want you,” she whispered back, the tenderness in his expression unlike anything she’d ever seen in a lover before. She swung a leg over him, taking his cock and steering it into her as she settled back. She breathed deep as he slid into her wetness, the way he was looking at her amplifying her desires. He gently pushed a lock of her hair back as she began to move, his mouth opening slightly, his face a mask of pleasure.

He watched her as she smiled down at him. She moved slowly, her face once again twisting in bliss as she rocked her hips. She placed her hands on his chest and leaned forward, her head tipping down as her eyes closed. She was so
incredibly
sexy, just watching her make love enough to make his passions roar. He caressed her face again before allowing his hands to slowly drift down to her breasts, cupping them, stroking them with his fingertips, teasing her nipples to hard points with soft touches.

She opened her eyes as he touched her face, a very loving gesture, watching his eyes as he began to caress her breasts. She loved having her breasts played with and she could feel another orgasm starting to form.

“Are you going to come?” she asked, smiling at him as his eyes flicked from her swinging breasts back to her eyes.

“Yes.”

“I want you to come hard. I want you to fight it until you can’t hold it. Can you do that for me?”

“Yes.”

“I want you to make me come. I want to come with you.”

He groaned, her words twisting him up. Nothing got to him like giving a woman an orgasm, and having her asking him to make her come was twisting him up.

She loved the way he groaned in erotic distress, the sound making her womanhood clinch in desire. “Make me come, Kade. I want you make me come.” She allowed him to pull her down, his kiss so heated she began to thrust on him harder and faster.

He held her tight as he drew his legs up and began to thrust into her hard and fast. He pounded into her, trying to drive her to orgasm, her soft grunts of passion flogging him.

“Shit…” she muttered softly as he pounded into her, a hand on the back of her neck holding her down and pressing her into his chest. He began to whimper, his thrusts becoming harder and faster still.

“I’m going to come.”

“Don’t come. Please, don’t come yet,” she whispered, her own orgasm coming. “I want to come with you. Please don’t come.”

He clenched his teeth, eyes squeezed tightly shut as he fought against his orgasm, but he couldn’t hold against the overwhelming wave of pleasure. He pushed in deep and held himself there, trying to stall his orgasm.

“No!” she cried softly. “Don’t stop! Please, don’t stop. I’m going to come!”

He drove into her furiously, trying to drive her over the edge before he succumbed. “I’m going to come,” he grunted as he struggled, holding his orgasm by the thinnest of threads.

“Don’t stop!” she gasped again, the knowledge he was wrestling against his own body in a desperate attempt to please her winding her tight.

He felt her go stiff as she clamped down on him, her face twisting as her eyes squeezed tightly shut. Knowing she was tumbling into her own orgasm snipped the final thread of his control, his head flinging back as he came alive in ecstasy.

She relaxed out of her orgasm just as he sighed, his embrace loosening with his exhalation. She took a deep cleansing breath and blew it out slowly, the orgasm surprisingly strong considering the epic one she’d had earlier. She found his lips for a long kiss, drinking in the warmth she felt for him.

He smiled as she slowly pulled back from the kiss, smiling at him in a way that touched him. The feeling was back, a connection, an attachment pulling him to her. He pulled her lips back to his and he kissed her, drinking deep from the well of closeness he felt for her.

She pulled back from the kiss. It didn’t have the blistering heat of the kiss as they made love, but there was a lingering warmth there, their passion not totally extinguished but only temporarily damped. She laid her head on his chest, eyes closed, listening to the slowing thud of his heart, and smiled. She didn’t know what was happening, but whatever it was, she liked it. She liked it a lot.

He held her, a hand on her head, the other on her back, as he softly caressed her skin and hair. He could feel her relaxing into sleep, and smiled. He didn’t know what was happening to him, unsure of his own feelings, but whatever it was, he liked how she made him feel.

CHAPTER EIGHT

Winter came a little better prepared for a funeral this time. She was wearing a black dress that fell slightly below her knees with a shallow scoop neck and sleeves that stopped just above her elbow, and two-inch black pumps.

“You look fantastic,” Kade said as he fastened her pearls around her neck then kissed her there.

“Thank you. I’m just sorry for the reason.”

“Yeah, me too. You can find the cemetery again?”

“I think so. How are you holding up?”

“Okay at the moment. It’s going to be tough later. Bickers, Anders, and I go back a long way. We joined within a year of each other. They called us The Three Musketeers for a while.”

She turned and kissed him. “I’m sorry. Is there anything I can do?”

“You’re doing it.”

“What?”

“Being here for me. Seeing you reminds me they didn’t die for nothing. It’s not much, but it’s all I have.”

She felt so badly for him. They hadn’t made love this morning, but he’d spent a long time just holding her. “We should go.”

He looked at her, dreading what he had to do. “Yeah.”

***

The funeral for Bickers, Anders, and Juice was the same as it was for Dugger. The brothers rode in escort of three hearses, then divided into three teams, handing the coffins brother to brother before carrying them side by side to Bickers’ gravesite. Juice and Anders’ coffins would be moved to their own gravesites after the service.

Even though she was expecting it, Winter couldn’t hold her tears as Kade spoke, then removed three pins from his vest, one at a time, and drove them into the coffins before crouching in front of each family. He managed to speak to Angelina, Juice’s wife, but as she watched, Kade broke and cried in front of Toni before gathering himself and crouching in front of Bickers’ mother and sister, his only two family members present. Again he broke, Bickers’ mother holding him, trying to comfort him before he again gathered himself and stepped away.

She caught his eyes, and watched his face twist as he fought to hold his composure as the rest of the brothers repeated his ritual. He succeeded, but she failed, weeping again for his pain and loss.

After the service, Kade introduced her to Angelina. The beautiful Hispanic woman was cordial but cool toward her. He then introduced her to Bickers’ mother and sister. They were much more welcoming, thanking her for coming and paying her respects. As she stepped away, she noticed Toni glaring at her.

“Perhaps I should go home,” she suggested, questioning the wisdom of returning to the clubhouse to mourn with the club.

Kade glanced to Toni. “You can if you want, but I would like you there, for me.”

She looked down. “You don’t think it will cause problems? I don’t want to create a scene.”

He stared at Toni until she turned away. “No. Don’t worry about her.”

“If you’re sure.”

“I’m sure,” he said softly. “It’ll help me. I couldn’t have gotten through this without you.”

She took his hand and kissed it. “I’ll be there.”

“How’s your shoulder?” Winter asked Bruce as he walked up to her.

“It hurts like a bitch if I try to raise my arm, but other than that, not too bad.”

“Why aren’t you in Houston?” Kade asked as he nodded at the sling.

“Behind a desk for sixteen weeks? No thanks. It’s kind of nice, actually. It gives me an excuse to not do any work around here,” he said with a grin. “These jokers are finally treating me with the respect I deserve. Why are you all the way out here?” he asked Winter.

“I had to come back for the funeral of Tom Bickers, Anders Wilton, and Greg Powers.”

“That’s the three guys who died in that gun fight?”

“You heard about that?”

“Heard about it? You can’t
not
hear about it. It’s all anyone is talking about. Did you really kill four cartel guys with machine guns, and drive through two roadblocks?”

“Two roadblocks, yes. I don’t think we killed anybody, though. They had us pretty well pinned down in the RV. There wasn’t a lot we could do except run,” Kade explained.

Bruce shook his head. “Still, you held off four guys with machine guns? Remind me not to piss you guys off.”

Kade smiled, not bothering to tell him it was four guys but only two automatic rifles. It made the brothers’ stories that much more compelling. He nodded at her. “She’s the one you should be worried about. I was just the driver. While all that was going on, she was busy patching up Duck and Big Dick. She probably saved Big Dick’s life.”

“You’re not telling me anything I don’t know. I’ve known her since she was this high,” he said holding his hand out at knee level. “She used to come out in the field with her dad. Speaking of which, why are you
here
?”

“You should have four or five core samples by now. I figured since I was here, I might as well take them back with me.”

“I only have three ready to send. We’re a little behind because we shut the rig down that day, then we broke a bit.”

“Okay, I’ll take the three.”

Bruce nodded, then looked at Kade. “Can you load them?”

“How big and heavy?”

“Three feet by one foot, and about a hundred and twenty pounds.”

“Yeah, I think I can manage that.”

“Right this way, then.”

***

Kade slammed the tailgate shut on the pickup. “You’re a hell of a lot stronger than you look if you muscle those things around.”

Winter twittered out a laugh. “The boxes are delivered to the lab. There are actually four cores in each box, so I only have to handle about a quarter of the weight at a time.”

He grunted. “I assume you have a cart I can put them on when we get back to Houston?”

“Nope. You have to carry them all the way into the lab.” She snickered at his look. “Okay, yeah, I think we can find something.”

He looked at his phone for the time. “We need to rock. It’s going to be almost midnight before we get back as it is.”

She walked around to the passenger side and opened her door. “I’m waiting on you.”

***

“I don’t expect any trouble, but if something happens, you floor that bastard and run like hell, you got it?” Kade said as he held open the door to the Kelly Oil truck.

“Got it.”

“I mean it, Winter. There’s not a lot I can do on my bike, so you
run
, and don’t stop for anything
.”

“I got it!”

He gave her a quick kiss. “Okay. I’ll have to stop at least once for gas, so just follow me off. We’ll grab dinner at the same time.”

“Okay, but let’s get on with it. I’m already getting hungry.”

***

“Jesus, I’m beat,” Kade muttered as he trudged up the steps to Winter’s bedroom with his suitcase, wearing nothing but his underwear. He’d taken his wet clothes off in the garage so he didn’t drip all over her house. He’d planned to drop the cores at the Kelly Oil building tonight, but they ran into rain two hours outside of Houston and he’d ridden in it the rest of way. That slowed them down and by the time they arrived in Houston, they decided to go straight to her house and worry with the rest in the morning.

“Me too.” As sexy as he looked in nothing but his low-rise briefs, she was too tired to want to do anything but sleep. It was nearly two in the morning and now she wished they had spent another night in Rio Bonita like Kade suggested.

She spent a moment taking care of Gabbro, freshening his water, topping off his food bowl and cleaning his litter box, then trudged upstairs. Kade was already in bed, looking sexy as hell, and she almost changed her mind about being too tired, but she could feel sleep tugging at her hard and she knew tomorrow morning was going to suck enough already. She brushed her teeth then tumbled into bed beside him.

He sighed deeply as he pulled her into a comfortable spoon, his knees tucked in behind hers, his arms going around her to cup her breasts as he pulled her snuggly back into his chest. She smiled, placing one hand on his, enjoying the feel of her breasts in his hands. She sighed, her eyes closing, a smile still on her lips as she slid almost immediately into the darkness of sleep.

***

“No…” Winter groaned as her phone bleated. She reached over and swatted at the noisemaker until it went silent. She sighed as Kade took her in his arms again and pulled in her snuggly, tucking in as if to get comfortable. It would take only moments before his warm embrace and soft breathing on her neck would lull her back to sleep and, as much as she’d enjoy going back to sleep in his arms, she knew she had to get up. “I can’t spend all day in bed,” she murmured, wanting to do just that.

“Just until lunch, then,” he whispered then kissed her on her shoulder before briefly tightening his embrace.

She groaned again then stretched. “Stop. You’re not making this any easier.”

“What time is it?”

“Six.”

He made a sound of disgust. “Four hours of sleep.”

She could feel sleep encroaching again, so she threw the linens back and squirmed out his arms. “I need to get my shower. You, too.”

He rolled over and stretched and growled until he thought he’d hear his bones creak. “Fine,” he sighed. “Eggs for breakfast?”

She didn’t care. What she really wanted for breakfast was right there in the bed with her. She leaned over and kissed him quickly on the lips, not wanting to get drawn into a long passionate kiss because she knew they would definitely be late if she did. “That’s fine,” she muttered as she forced herself to her feet and trudged into the bathroom.

When she appeared downstairs, showered, dressed, and feeling more human, he began scooping scrambled eggs onto a pair of plates, adding toast, before sitting it in front of her with a mug of coffee. Her mouth began to water, not only from the smell of breakfast, but also from the sight of Kade. He was wearing nothing but his briefs, black this time, looking bed-tossed and fuckable as hell.

“What’s the plan for today?” he asked as he joined her at the table.

“Take the cores to the lab. I want to run some tests on them, then I need to go out and get a replacement for my Jeep. Then, after that, I don’t know. Dinner, I guess.”

He nodded. It sounded like a perfectly dull day, which is just what he wanted after the excitement of the past couple of weeks.

Breakfast finished, he showered and dressed while Winter tidied the kitchen and made the bed. Ready, he picked up the keys for the truck and drove them to the Kelly Oil offices, Winter directing him to the back of the building. She handed him her badge that he swiped to gain entrance to the employee parking area, then she directed him farther around to a loading dock.

Another swipe of the badge and she gained access to the building. Where the public areas of Kelly Oil were richly decorated, the working areas of the building looked like he imagined any office area would look. She led him to her lab where she pointed out a heavy-duty hand truck he could use to bring in the samples.

She moved through the building, Kade following with the samples stacked on the hand truck, people stopping her with wide eyes and eager faces, wanting to find out if everything they heard was true. They were impressed, mortified, or thrilled by her adventure, depending on the person she was speaking to. She secretly smiled as the women, especially, gave Kade long, envious glances.
