Chapter 10
Keisha was steaming with anger. All the insults Johnny had thrown her way had made her miserable because of all the things she wished she would have said to Johnny but didn't. After twenty minutes of driving Keisha got to the club and it was unusually hot inside, or maybe it was just her. She immediately made her way to the bathroom and freshened up her makeup. Minutes later she parted through a crowd of groupies waiting for Bling to grace the stage. She went straight to the bar and ordered a Red Bull. The waitress placed the Red Bull on the counter.
“Drinking out of a can is not my style.” Keisha was being a diva.
The waitress looked at her, rolling her eyes. “And your point is?”
Keisha exhaled aloud. “Your job is to pour it into a glass. Do I need to tell you how to do your job?”
The bartender slid the glass to her. “Pour it your damn self.” The bartender walked to the opposite end of the bar.
The crowd went wild chanting Bling's name as he went on stage, but she held her composure. She would be calm, cool, and collected. Tonight she would reside at the bar and the prey would come to her, because every hunter knows that a thirsty animal always finds a water hole. There was no denying Bling's talent. He was reggae with a little R&B flava.
“Girl, I want you inna mi life. I want you to be mi wife.”
The crowd went wild as if his words were personally addressed to them. The bouncers were trying to hold the groupies at bay as Bling serenaded the crowd. He was dodging undergarments as if they were bullets being thrown at him. “Girls mi love unuh.” He exited the stage for another artist to serenade the pack of wild beasts that wanted to devour him. A groupie sneakily tried to go backstage. She was embarrassingly carried out by two bouncers. One bouncer held her arm and the other held her legs. Her crotch was exposed for all to see. A few horny bastards took the opportunity to reach out and touch.
“Let go off of me!” the girl screamed.
“Get your nasty ass out of here,” the bouncer who was holding her arms retorted. The other bouncer was getting a free peep show.
With all this pandemonium going on, I hope he doesn't sneak out the back door.
Keisha drank her Red Bull from a glass with a straw as she tried to stay calm.
“Are you trying to get with Bling, too?”
The voice startled Keisha a she spun around the barstool to see Mark. “What are you doing here?”
“So now I have to report to you like your friend Nikki?”
Keisha spun around, facing the direction Bling should have been coming from.
I hope he doesn't come out now. Mark standing here will ruin everything. I have to get rid of his ass.
“Speaking of Nikki, does she know that you are at a bar trying to pick up a one-night stand because she won't give you any loving? Well, I'm assuming she didn't.” Keisha searched his eyes for an answer but he walked away with a sarcastic smile.
Keisha was glad he left but the question was unanswered. She wanted to know the answer but she knew Nikki wouldn't tell her. Keisha was getting up to go after him but the sudden outburst of screams caught her attention. The bouncers were guiding Bling to the bar.
I wish I had time to reapply my damn lip gloss.
She sipped from the glass, trying to calm her nerves. “I wish I had a stronger drink.”
Bling's eyes widened when he saw Keisha sitting at the bar. The dress she had on would make a preacher backslide. She crossed her legs and his eyes followed as far as they could see. He was finally next to her and Keisha heart was pounding out of her chest.
“I must compliment you on that outfit,” he whispered in her ear.
“This old thingâ”
“And here I was thinking you bought that just for me.”
“You are not that important.”
“Ouch, that hurts.”
“I guess I deserve that for shutting you down when you tried to throw yourself at me.”
“What a joke. I didn't throw myself at you. I just wanted an interview for my magazine. But your little poodle's bark was much bigger than his bite. Is he going to come running after his master?”
Bling laughed at her sense of humor. She got off the stool because she wanted to go somewhere quiet and talk but she didn't want to ask and get shut down. He was into her so she had to make her move now. She proceeded to the hall without looking back.
I hope he's following me.
Sure enough he was. “Now you are walking away from me?”
“I just want to go somewhere quiet.” She turned to face him. “Let me introduce myself. My name is Keisha and I'm here doing my job.” She went into her purse and took out a notepad and a pen to further sell her lies.
“Your job is to pick up guys at the club?”
“I'm here on assignment to interview upcoming artists, like you, who I think have the potential to succeed.” She wrote the month, date, and year on the paper.
“And I was thinking you just wanted to get me into your bed.”
“You're very attractive. I can give you that but I'm not that easy. Do you mind answering a few questions?”
He put his hand up as if he were at a courthouse swearing in. “I promise to tell the truth and nothing but the truth.”
“Why aren't you signed to a label as yet?”
“I have a couple of labels coming at me but I just don't want to sign a contract and then get trapped. There are a lot of deceivers out there.”
“There are labels out there that would want to see you succeed.”
“There are other talents here tonight; why did you choose me?”
“I know good talent when I see it. I just don't want to see it go to waste. My brother was talented just like you but his career was cut short.”
Bling gave a chuckle. “What happened? He lost his voice? Cat got his tongue?”
Keisha's face suddenly turned sad. She closed her notepad and put it back into her purse. She wiped her eyes, making an illusion to seem as if she was crying.
“Did I say something wrong?”
“My brother died a year ago in a car accident.”
“I wouldn't make a joke like that if I had known.”
“He was all I had. He took care of me when my mother and father turned their backs on me. I miss him a lot.”
She put on the waterworks, crying for the dead brother she never had. Poor Bling didn't know that he was face-to-face with an Emmy winner. He fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Bling wrapped his arms around her and gave her a tight hug, but behind his back she wore a big deceiving smile on her face.
“I'm drawn to you because you are so much like him. He was signed to Top Dot Records. They took good care of him. I can honestly say you should sign with them. They are good people.”
“I've been approached be so many labels but that name sounds familiar.”
“Trust me. He is the best.”
“You talk as if you know him personally.”
“I do a lot of research on all these labels and Top Dot always comes out on top. Their artists are always first priority. I wouldn't steer you wrong. What would be my gain?”
She modeled a big deceiving smile because she knew she had just sold her lie, a lie that would make her $5,000 richer even if she had to conjure up another lie if he didn't fall for this one.
“Signing with Top Dot would be the best decision you make toward your career.”
“I'll keep that in mind, miss career advisor. So you enjoyed my performance that much you had to see it twice?”
“Your performance was great and you aren't too bad to look at.”
He took a drink from his glass and emptied it. He wanted to return the compliment but he was afraid that it would send the wrong message. Keisha knew exactly what he was thinking even though he was putting on a front.
“Before this goes any further I have to tell you that I'm happily married.”
“I wouldn't say that out loud for your fans to hear. You would definitely have no fans at the end of the night.”
“My fans are loyal.” He waved to a few fans awaiting his autograph but quickly brought his attention back to Keisha.
“How does your wife feel about all these groupies chasing after you?”
“She knows they're just my fans; and, besides, these groupies as you call them are going to make me rich. So she loves them as much as I do and besides she already got the ring.”
“That simply means they can't get a ring, but they can get something else.”
“Are we talking about my fans or you?”
“Don't flatter yourself. I'm here doing a job so I have to ask these questions and, besides, I don't mix business with pleasure.”
Keisha walked away from him, dropping her made-up business card with her number and home address, knowing he would pick it up. You could tell he didn't want the interview to be over. This time he wanted to be the interviewer because he had questions he wanted to ask her. She knew she had him because his eyes were set on her as she walked away. The first time they met he dismissed her but this time she knew he wanted more. His fans suddenly swarmed him like bees blanketing an intruder trying to take their honey.
He disappeared into the crowd and Keisha exited the club, walking toward her car, when Tina ran after her with a barrage of questions coming at her from all angles. She hadn't spoken to Tina since the fight.
Damn, I didn't know she was at the club tonight.
She didn't let her in on the job she was doing for her uncle. She was always reluctant to fill her in on most ventures that she pursued. Tina was an ego novice who got excited about everything. The men Keisha pursued were white-collar men with families and a lot to lose if their secret was to ever get out. She couldn't afford to let her ruin things for her. Bling was no exception to the rules. This project had to be confidential.
“Are you going to apologize or not?” Tina asked with no confidence.
“Bitch, please. You crossed the line when you keyed my car.”
“Keisha, what you did at the restaurant was wrong and you know it.”
“He was fair game. He didn't belong to you and, besides, what have you learned from me, Tina?” she asked, still walking to her car.
Tina heels stopped clicking behind her. “You are a heartless bitch.”
Keisha turned to face her. “That's right, but a woman without confidence is doomed.” She got in her car and drove off, leaving Tina to grow some balls.
Keisha got home and took her clothes off, revealing a matching bra and panties. She lay in her bed, tossing and turning, trying to fall asleep.
I know I made a good impression on Bling. In fact I know he was lusting. I hope he uses my home address because I wrote “home” next to it just in case he needed some more convincing. Am I losing my charm?
She got out of bed like a zombie, lazily walking to the kitchen. She poured herself a glass of her favorite red wine, gulped it down, then poured another. Her phone was ringing in the bedroom and she ignored it and took another sip of wine and closed her eyes as she swallowed.
What if that's Bling calling?
She opened her eyes wide then put the glass down and ran to the bedroom. She tripped over her shoes, falling flat on her face. She got up, hopping the rest of the way, but still managed to get to the phone on time.
“Hello.”
“Do you make a habit of giving strangers your home address?
“Do you make a habit of calling someone this late?”
“Why don't you open the door so I can show you my good and bad habits?”
“I knew you couldn't deprive yourself.” She hung up the phone and hurriedly fixed her hair, then walked to the door, exhaling before she opened it.
Bling stood there with both hands placed in his pocket. “You always put your home address on your business card?”
She could read his mind and right then and there she knew he would belong to her for as many hours as he could be with her. She pulled him inside. The passion was there like a burning fire and neither one wanted to put it out. He slammed the door, causing the painting that hung on the wall to fall to the floor. He pushed her against the door and unhooked her bra and filled his mouth with her breast. The warmth of his mouth got her wet instantly. He explored her inner depths with his finger. The combination of his warm tongue and being finger fucked made her juices flow. He released her breasts and brought his finger with her juice to his mouth. Keisha unbuttoned his shirt, then unbuckled his belt, leaving him in his boxers. His body was perfection with no body art in sight. His manhood pointed at her and she was ready for it. He fell on his knees, slowly taking her panties off, revealing her bald pussy. He parted her with his tongue and licked her juice. Keisha held on to his head as his tongue discovered her inner walls.
Remembering she had a roommate she led him to the bedroom. She pushed him against the wall and took his manhood into her hand. His dick was pulsating as well as her clitoris. She opened her mouth and took him in. She did all the tricks she remembered from a Super Head DVD she had seen.
“Oh shit. You the best,” he said when her tongue and her hands did a combination. She felt his dick pulsating but she didn't want him to cum so she released him.
She walked over to the bed and lay on her back with her legs wide open, enticing him even more. He wanted to enter but she lengthened her legs to his chest, stopping him. He sucked on her toes and watched her touch herself.
“I see that you are talented in many ways than one.”
“Yes, and I'm ready to show you another one of my special talents,” Bling bragged.
“Not so fast. You need to promise me that you will sign with Top Dot Records.”
