London Calling (31 page)

“Was that what you were going to say yesterday at the wedding?” she said.

I smiled. “Might have been.”

She kissed me again, then paused.

“And despite all rational logic, I think I love you too,” she said. She sighed deeply and laughed. I guess I deserved that.

“Only think?”

She smiled at me. “Work with that for now.”

We stared at each other, me rolling around our new status in my mind before we both broke into massive grins. I was in love with her and she thought she was in love with me. Yeah, I could definitely work with that for now.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Clare Lydon is a London-based author who penned her first novel at primary school and it scored 9.5/10. She’s still not sure what she was docked half a point for. A lack of lesbians, perhaps?

London Calling certainly addresses that issue, featuring a cast of London ladygays & their mates who Clare hopes are reflective of life in modern-day London. That was her aim at least.

If you enjoyed this debut novel, the good news is you don’t have to wait long for the next one. Clare Lydon’s second book is due out later this year.
