"What romantic plans do you guys have for tonight?" Brielle asks, intrigued.

I shrug and frown. "No idea, I don't think we're doing anything. Not that I know of anyway."

Bree huffs and frowns. "If the most romantic couple I know isn't doing anything for Valentine's Day, then there's absolutely no hope of Adam taking me anywhere either."

"Oh, I'm sure Adam has something planned for you."

"I hope so; Valentine's Day without romance is like a fish without gills, like a camel with no humps, and a building without windows."

"A building without windows?"

She shrugs. "All I could think of at the time."

The Tokyo Manager, Mr. Kaito Takahashi, comes in with his entourage. They meet in the boardroom for hours, finalizing the O'Connell Finance Corporation's acquisition of one of Tokyo's largest financial institutions. I stare at Aiden in the boardroom, imagining the naughty things I could be doing to him right now.

"Jeni ... Jeni, do you have the Anderson file?" Brielle distracts me from naughty thoughts.

"Yeah, of course, it's right here." I pull the file out of my filing cabinet as Aiden and the Japanese crew head out of the boardroom toward the elevators. The Japanese men all bow. Aiden and Alistair put out their hands for Mr. Takahashi to shake. They get in the elevator and leave. Aiden and Alistair head back to their respective offices.

I stand up and walk to Aiden's office, knocking on the door.

"Come in," he calls out. I open the door, walk in, and close the door behind me. I lock it discreetly.

"Hey, baby."

"How did it go with Mr. Taka-hash-brown or whatever his name is?"

He laughs loudly. "Really great, it's full steam ahead. Father and Brielle will go over there in a couple of months to help them, and we'll have the office to ourselves."

I smile and make my way over to his desk. I go around the desk and sit next to him, hitching my skirt up slightly so he can see my underwear.

"Why, Miss Taylor, that's not very ladylike."

"A lady wouldn't try to seduce you, now would she?" I ask mischievously leaning forward and playing with his tie.

His eyebrow raises, and a crooked smile appears on his face. "Jeni, I love you, but not here."

I frown jumping off his desk and turn his desk chair around so he's facing me. I quickly sit on his lap, one leg either side of him.

"Jeni," he says, staring at my breasts.

"Mmm?" I murmur, leaning my breasts up towards his face, smothering his face in my cleavage.

"Jeni, we're at work." His voice muffled through my breasts.

I huff and sit up, taking them from his face. His smile beams from ear to ear.

I get off him and go to walk off. "Don't say I didn't try."

He taps the desk for me to sit back down. I do so, and he leans in to motor boat me, and my core reacts accordingly. I pull back from him starting to get frustrated. He can sense my shift in mood and stands up in front of me.

"You'll be alright."

I huff and go to stand up. He stops me and kisses me, stepping between my legs and taking hold of my ass, pulling me toward him. I wrap my legs around his body and kiss him feverishly. He lets go and pulls his lips from mine softly.

"There, that should tide you over till tonight."

"Fine! If you don't want me, then move out of my way."

He stops me from getting off the desk. He leans in and kisses me again, his hands grabbing my ass and pulling me back into his groin. He takes my weight and pulls me off the desk as he walks to the sofa carrying me, locked in a steamy kiss.

He lays me down on the sofa and undoes his belt. I give myself a pat on the back, knowing I've won. He quickly undoes his zipper, freeing his large erection. He lowers his pants down below his ass. He leans down, swiftly pulls off my underwear, and then he hovers on top of me.

"This has to be quick, and try to be quiet," he whispers.

"Mmm hmm."

He slowly enters me. I exhale as the feeling I've needed all day finally overcomes me.

"Oh God," I murmur when he moves inside me. My breathing is instantly erratic as he pulls out and enters me, again and again. His breathing escalates while I claw at his suit. I can't help it as I start to moan.

"Shh, baby." He slows down; bring the fever down a notch.

The pleasure I've needed is pulsating through my core, ready to erupt. I exhale again as he quickens up the pace. He covers my mouth with his hand, trying to muffle my moans while he thrusts relentlessly into me.

"Oh, Jeni." His face starts to clench as he removes his hand and kisses me. We kiss frantically while we make love on his sofa. This is so hot; the feeling of being caught is exhilarating. He continues to thrust into me.

"Oh, baby," he whispers.

I move my hand back to my mouth to muffle my moans. He looks into my eyes and the heat rises instantly. I arch my back as he pulls me close. I move my head, and my teeth lock onto his shoulder when I'm overcome with pleasure. He growls in response. The heat overwhelms my body, and I moan into his shoulder, trying to muffle the sound as I reach my desperately needed climax. My breathing hitches, and I fall apart beneath him. He keeps moving while I hold onto him tightly. His face crunches, and he does the same. He puts his face into my shoulder, moaning then he unloads himself inside of me. He slumps down on me as he relaxes. We lay on the sofa panting and he comes in to kiss me passionately.

"I've created a monster." He pulls out of me, I giggle as he leans over, pulling some tissues from the box, and cleans us both.

"Yep, this was your entirely your fault." I sit up and pull on my underwear.

"Feel better now?"

"Much, thank you. Was I loud?"

"I hope not."

"Guess we'll know when I go back out there."

I straighten his tie. He stands up, does up his fly and belt, and walks over to his desk drawer. He pulls out some of his men's body cologne and sprays. I stand up from the sofa and stumble a little, as my legs now feel like Jell-O. I walk over to his desk and gently kiss him again.

"Now, get back to work."

I laugh and make my way to the door, unlocking it and inhaling with apprehension before I open the door. I hope there's no audience on the other side. I look back at him, and he winks at me. I open the door and walk out. Brielle is busy typing away, and Alistair is nowhere to be seen. Wow, I think we got away with it. I make my way back to my desk and continue on with my work, feeling very satisfied.

Finally, it's time to leave. Adam is picking Brielle up and taking her out for dinner. The elevator chimes, and Brielle looks up, waiting for Adam to come through. The doors open to a very large bunch of flowers, and Adam. He walks out of the elevator, and Bree reacts with squeals of excitement. Aiden walks out of his office. He looks at Adam and Brielle and comes in from behind to hug me while Alistair walks out of his office.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Bree," Adam announces.

"What a crock of
shit
!" Alistair says and walks to the elevator.

We walk to the elevator, leaving Adam and Bree in the office. The doors open, and I can't help but feel a little saddened that we're not celebrating Valentine's Day. A girl feels loved and cherished when her partner makes her feel special on a day like today. Jason, my ex, never celebrated Valentine's Day in any way. He always considered it a Hallmark holiday. It hurt, and in some ways, today is hurting as well. As Aiden never mentioned anything about celebrating the day with me, I'm assuming we're doing nothing.

He holds my hand in the elevator. I feel more relaxed now than I did this morning. The doors open, and we step out to the main foyer, walk through to the sliding doors, and down the stairs to meet Mike.

We drive to the apartment, head to the elevator, and make our way up. The doors open, and I hear soft music playing. I step from the elevator and immediately see that the living room has been transformed. It's decorated with red roses, everywhere. A path of rose petals leads to the balcony. There are candles placed sporadically throughout. It's very subtly lit and smells divine.

"Oh my god. This is amazing." I walk through the living room to the balcony, and then outside to see petals spread all over the tiles and the table, which is set for two with a bottle of Bollinger champagne sitting in the middle. Little tiny love hearts and xoxo confetti are sprinkled all over the tablecloth. I walk to the edge of the balcony and take it all in.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Jeni," he whispers in my ear.

I turn and kiss him.

"Happy Valentine's Day." I hug him tight, feeling elated that he did all this for me. He takes my hand and walks me over to the table and pulls out my chair, and I sit down while he walks around to his seat.

He looks toward the kitchen and waves his hand at Marissa, our maid.

"Good evening, Miss Taylor, Mr. O'Connell. Dinner's nearly ready."

"Thanks, Marissa," we both say in unison.

She turns and walks back to the kitchen.

"This is amazing and much more than I expected." I take his hand on the table.

"I know. I'm too good."

"Keep telling yourself that."

He pulls my hand up to his mouth and kisses it tenderly.

Marissa places two plates of bruschetta in front of us.

"Thank you so much, Marissa."

She curtseys and goes back inside. I look down and assess my plate. The bruschetta consists of tomato with prosciutto, bocconcini cheese, red onion, and some herbs with some sort of balsamic glaze on top. I take the knife and fork and dig in. The bread is crisp, teamed with the fresh toppings, and it simply tastes divine.

We eat in silence, enjoying the food too much to talk. Once finished, he holds up his champagne flute.

"To us!"

I raise mine in response. "To us!"

We drink some of the crisp, bubbly champagne. Marissa comes out and takes away our plates.

"That was outstanding, Marissa, thank you."

She nods, walks to the kitchen, and returns with our main course. "Bon appétit," she says leaving us again.

We're served chicken mignon with mashed potatoes and green beans topped with a mushroom sauce.

"This is one of her best meals."

I slice into the tender chicken. The meal is mouth-watering and sumptuous.

"This has been the best Valentines Day ever."

He takes a sip of his champagne and winks at me.

"No, honestly, every Valentine's Day with Jason was horrible. I know I don't talk about him much to you, and that's how it should be. Valentine's Day was always terrible. He would never celebrate it. He told me that I wasn't worthy of celebration. He'd get drunk and then take it out on me with a full-on argument about how useless I was. All I can say is thank God you're nothing like him."

He looks into my eyes. "I'd never talk to you like that. He sounds like a douche bag."

"He is a douche bag!" I laugh, and then take another sip of my champagne.

Marissa comes out with dessert. She places the plates in front of us and walks back inside. It's a little chocolate cake and some custard. Looks simple enough. I dip my spoon into the center of the cake, and it slides through it with ease, showing a soft oozing center of melted chocolate. This was fancier than it looked. We eat every bit, scraping all the crumbs from the plate.

Standing up and taking me by the hand. I look at him curiously as he pulls me close to him. He wraps one arm around my waist and holds the other hand tight toward his chest as he pulls me in for a slow dance. I dance with him on the balcony while the sun sets over the city.

We make our way back to our seats. He pulls a box from his jacket pocket.

"I know we didn't talk about getting each other presents, but I couldn't resist this when I saw it." He hands me a little blue box. I know instantly it's another gift from Tiffany's.

"I feel bad that I didn't get you anything. I really thought that we weren't going to celebrate today."

"All I need is your love."

I take the box and undo the white ribbon surrounding it. I open it to find a stunning ring. It's platinum with a row of diamonds, followed by a row of pink diamonds, and then another row of diamonds. It's exquisite. Inside the box is a small information card.

Tiffany Soleste band ring in platinum with Fancy Vivid Pink Diamonds.

I gasp, "Oh my god!"

"It's not an engagement ring, but it's a promise ring. It's a promise that I'll always be here for you." My eyes well with tears. "A promise that I'll love you every day of the rest of forever."

I stand up and walk around to him; he stands to meet me. I move in and kiss my gorgeous, romantic boyfriend on our balcony.
This is the best Valentine's Day ever.

Chapter 8

"Morning, beautiful." He rests his arm across my stomach, I frown at the feeling. I'm feeling nauseated.

"Are you okay?"

I sit up to take a sip of water. "Probably stress. I'll be fine once I've had something to eat."

He looks at me with concern etched all over his face. "Let's get you some breakfast then." He moves to the closet to retrieve our work attire.

I get up and feel slightly dizzy, but I manage to shake it off. I get dressed and walk out to the kitchen where he's making some toast. My morning coffee is brought to me while I sit down at the kitchen table. As I bring the mug up to my lips to drink, the smell churns my stomach. I frown and put it down on the table.
What the hell is wrong with me today?

He eyes me suspiciously when I move the coffee away.

"Don't feel like coffee today?"

I shake my head. "No, I'm feeling pretty awful at the moment."

"Maybe you've caught a bug?"

"Yeah, I'm sure it'll pass."

"Maybe you should stay home today if you're not well?"

I shake my head. He places a plate of toast in front of me. I grab a piece of toast with peanut butter and take a bite. Aiden watches me while I try to swallow the toast unsuccessfully. I spit it back out onto my plate and move the plate away from me. My stomach churns; I get up and run to the en-suite, making it in time to expel the bile from my stomach into the bowl. He follows me into the en-suite to check on me.
