Love Through Pain (19 page)

Malcolm’s eyes widen
ed as he pushed Javier off of him. “Your wife?”

The bouncers ran up to them and seized Javier from behind. Jazmine ran to his side, touching his s
wollen lip. “Baby, are you okay?” she asked, concerned.

Malcolm
’s face was bloody. “Your fucking wife!” He wiped a palm down his face.

“Look
, dude, I wanted to tell you,” Javier said between heated breaths.

“Tell me what?” Malcolm shouted.

“That you were in love with my wife.” Javier took Jazmine’s hand. “Don’t ever put your hands on her again.”

“You don’t have to worry about that
, I had her, and I’ve had better.” Malcolm’s nose flared.

Jazmine held Javier back
. “Let’s go home.”

“You don’t have to leave
, come on Eva, it’s time to go.”  Malcolm clutched Eva’s hand. She stared at them with a smirk on her face.

“Really, Eva?” Jazmine voice held astonishment.

Malcolm pulled Eva through the crowd.

Jazmine got a napkin off
of the table, and then wiped at his mouth. “I’m sorry.”

“This needed to happen
.” He stroked her hair.

“Not like this
.” She touched his lip.

“Well, he knows now
.” He pulled her closer. “You were great, I didn’t know you could sing like that.” He gazed at her. “Are you okay?”

“Please
, don’t look at me like that.”

“Like what?”

“Pity—I had a moment. I don’t like to be manhandled, but I’m okay.”

“I know, I witnessed it,
and nice aim.” He kissed her.

Tonight
, by John Legend,
started playing.

“Our song
.” She pulled him to the dance floor. “Don’t let him ruin our night.”

Javier followed her movements, grinding on her ass. He dug into his pocket
, pulling out a red velvet bag as she danced with him. Jazmine turned, and he held up the diamond ring. Her eyes sparkled with tears. He clutched her ring finger, and then placed the band on. He kissed her knuckles and mouthed, “I love you.” He also placed a platinum band on his finger.

Her face lit up
, observing the diamonds all around the ring, and she placed her hands behind his neck, and tiptoed. “I love you more than you’ll ever know.” His tongue met her lips, and she opened up, letting him in, and then he remembered where they were and backed off.

“I’ll show you how much
when we get home.” He grabbed her ass.

Jazmine touched his lips
. “Oops, does it hurt?”

Javier smiled through the pain and shook his head.

They danced away the night until the lounge closed. She brought out so many things in him, laughter for one. He even forgot about the pain—her smile was his medicine.

Jazmine drove Alanie home. When she arrived home, Javier had already taken a shower and was sound asleep in his boxers. “What happened to showing me?” she mumbled, covering him with the sheets.

She
pulled off her clothes and took a shower; she dried off and wrapped the robe around her body, and then she had a mischievous thought. She climbed on the bed, lifted the sheet, and pulled it back so she could see his face, before crawling down his body.

Jazmine positioned her hands in his boxers and started stroking him. He moved and grunted. Her hands kept caressing his dick, twisting up and down. She slid one hand to the base of his cock, and
she fondled his balls with the other.

Javier moaned,
moving his hips.

She wrapped her tongue around the base of his dick,
and that’s when Javier’s eyes fluttered open to gaze at her. She swirled her tongue up and down his rod. His eyes darkened, and she dipped her head, taking him as deep as she could.

“Fuck…” he groaned deep in his throat
, thrusting up.

Jazmine kept bobbing her head, adding a little saliva. “Mmm,” she hummed.

Javier’s hands fisted her hair, and tugged. He slowly released his grip on her tresses, grabbed the sheets, and moved his hips to her rhythm. Jazmine grabbed his hands and put them back against her head.

She stared at him while deep throating his cock as far as she could, almost gagging.

“Jazmine.” Instead of gripping her strands, he cupped her head and guided her.

She could feel his balls tighten under her touch. Jazmine continued to suck him, making the butterfly effect, twirling her tongue.

In a swift move, Javier grabbed her shoulders and flipped her so she was under him. He pushed her legs apart with his, and then thrust into her channel. “Jazz … mine…” He closed his eyes, seizing the sheets by her head. “Babe … you’re so tight.” He sunk in completely. “Don’t … don’t … move baby … I don’t want to cum yet.”

Jazmine was in a playing mood, and she started to rotate her hips, contracting her pussy muscles.

“Jazz…” He moved her robe, exposing her breast, he bowed his head and hungrily sucked on her tits.

“Oh
… yes…” she moaned loudly. She knew she wasn’t going to last long.

Javier gave her long, slow strokes
, hitting her g-spot, and she could feel the buildup coming. “Oh shit…”

He must have known she was about to burst
; he moved faster—his strokes were short and deep. “Javy…” she screamed as her orgasm hit her like a ton of bricks.

Her pussy milked his dick, and he joined her in ecstasy, growling her name and bit
ing her collarbone.

Javier lay on her, and then pushed himself up and rolled to her side. “I told you not to move
.” He caught his breath.

“You know I’m not good at following orders
.” She lay in the crook of his arm and chest.

“You have skills
.” He touched her lips.

“Only for you
.” She gave him a smooch.

“Oh
… I know, because I’ll kill any man that comes near you,” his voice was heavy with sleep.

Jazmine circled her left arm around him,
and her heartbeat synced with his, and then fell asleep.

Chapter Twenty-Eight

The sound of running water from Javier’s shower could be heard through the thin walls of the bedroom. Jazmine had just put Nicky down for the night and was entering their room when Javier’s phone rang, buzzing along the surface of the nightstand. Jazmine couldn’t believe how happy she was
; she was singing all the time, coming home early from work. She even enjoyed doing chores, especially washing Nicky’s clothes. She couldn’t stop smiling as she sat on the bed to collect her things. The plan of joining her man under the hot steamy water forming in her head.  The corner of her lips turned down when his phone kept ringing. She tried to ignore it, but the melody continued.
What if it’s an emergency
, she thought.

“Hello,” she answered without looking at the screen.

“Who’s this?” a female asked.

Jazmine held the phone away from her ear and looked at it intently. The screen showed Monica’s name.

“You’re the one calling, who are you?” Jazmine calmly asked.

“Bitch, put Javier on the phone?” Monica hollered.

“Excuse me?” She never liked the bitch in the first place, but she’d never dissed her.

“You heard me
, put my man on the phone.”

“You’re man!” Jazmine r
oared. “Last time I checked, he was my husband.” Jazmine’s voice raised as Javier came out the bathroom in his boxers.

“You fucking liar
! Javy isn’t married. He would never do that to me.”

Jazmine gave Javier a dirty glare, and
then threw the phone at him. He looked at her with his eyebrows drawn together and a question in his gaze. Hurt consumed her; he hadn’t told his family they were married yet, because if he had, Monica would’ve been the first to know. She knew he loved her, but she wondered if he regretted the decision to stay married.  She hopped off the bed and hurried from their bedroom.

Javier caught the phone when she threw it at him. “What the…” He didn’t finish his sentence when he saw the screen. “Fuck.” He could hear Monica’s anxious voice, “Hello!”

“Monica,” he sighed.

“Monica, my ass. Is it true what that trick said? You’re fucking married!” she shouted.

He moved the phone away from his ear. He hadn’t told his family about Jazmine being his wife, because he didn’t really care what they thought. He was tired of always pleasing them. It was time for him to be happy.

“Yes, Monica, I’m married,” he gently said, knowing it was going to hurt her.

“Did I hear you correctly? You’re fucking married!” her voice cracked. “Were you married
when you fucked me four months ago?”

“This isn’t the way I wanted you find out.”

“Javy, you were supposed to marry
me
. Since we were kids, that was the plan,” her voice rattled. “You told me you weren’t ready. You’ve been gone, what? Eight months, and suddenly you’re ready?”

He sighed
. “I wasn’t prepared until I met her. You can’t help who you love.”

“I loved you!” she yelled
. “I loved you so much, that I took extreme measures for us to be together.”

Javier was confused
, but he needed to get to his wife and explain. “I have to go.” He was about to hang up.

“Not until I tell you why I called.”

“And what’s that?” he asked curiously.

“I’m pregnant,” she huffed.

“And, what does that have to do with me?”

“You can’t be so naïve. It’s your baby asshole
. Now what?”

“You really expect me to believe I got you pregnant.” Javier was the one fuming now. He knew for a fact he couldn’t have kids. “I’ve always used protection with you.”

“Yes, you did, but condoms do break.” She laughed. “Or maybe get tampered with.”

“What the fuck are you implying?” Javier thought back to that night
—fuck she’d handed him the condom—regardless of that fact, even if she messed with the condom, it wasn’t his baby.

“You’re about to be a father,
and we’ll be in each other’s lives for a long time. I hope your wife doesn’t have a problem with that.” He could hear the sarcasm in her tone.

Javier cracked his neck, feeling his nose flare. “Fuck you
, Monica; don’t call me again.” He threw his phone on the bed, and then started getting dressed. Monica was more devious than he thought, messing with the condom. What woman does that?
A desperate one
, he thought.

He needed to calm down before he went to talk to Jazmine. Now he also needed to tell her what his crazy-ex is up to.

He ignored his phone as it rang. The chimes stopped and started again. He marched over to the bed, and picked it up. “Monica, I told you not to call me again!” he yelled.

“Javy, es tu madre.”

“Sorry, Ma.” He sat on the edge of the bed.

“You’re married?”
his mom quietly asked.

“She didn’t waste any
time calling you.” He was annoyed, but he knew it was coming. She always ran to his mother when things didn’t go her way.

“Is it true?”

He leaned on his elbows, holding the phone to his ear with his shoulder. “Yes, I’m married.”

“Porque! You didn’t tell me?”
He could hear the hurt in her voice.

“Ma
, I was going tell you, but when the time was right.”

“Cuando?”

He closed his eyes. “Soon.”

“Who is it? Is it that girl Ivy you were seeing?” He could hear the bitterness in her voice.

“No.”

“Then who?”

“Jazmine.”

“Jazmine,” his mom said above a whisper
. “Jazmine!” she yelled.

“Yes… I have no excuses
, I should’ve told you sooner.”

The line w
ent silent.

“Ma, I love her
… I’m a better man because of her,” his voice cracked.

“Son, you’ve always been a good man.”

“She makes me better. She’s the reason I wake up in the mornings. La amo.”

“Hijo, are you sure it isn’t pity you feel for her, because of what she went through
?”

“No, I love her because of the woman she is. When she left after giving birth to Nicolas, my life wasn’t the same. She took my happiness with her
, that woman took my heart when she walked out my life. I’m not me without Jazmine.”

“Javy, are you sure Jazmine’s the one?”

“Mom, I’m incomplete without her.”

He co
uld hear his mom sniffing.

“I’m sorry
.” This night couldn’t get any worse.

“Javy, these are happy tears. I’ve always wanted you to be happy, and if Jazmine makes you happy and you
’re sure, then I’m on your side.” He heard her crumbling paper. “You know I already love that girl, but what are you going to do about Monica and her baby?”

“Ma
, that’s not my baby.” He got up. When he looked up, Jazmine was standing there with her hand on the door. He knew she’d heard him.

“Are you sure?”

“I’m sure.”

“How? Unless you take a paternity test, you can’t be sure.”

“I’m a hundred percent sure, that baby she’s carrying is not mine,” he said in a stern voice.

“Monica is very persistent.”

“Ma, I have to go.” He watched the emotions in Jazmine’s eyes as she glared at him, there was no spark in them.

“I’m going to call the family and tell them the good news
. One of my son’s is finally happily married.” He finally heard the excitement in her voice. “Are you still coming for the fourth of July?”

Javier gazed at
Jazmine; her full lips were tightly shut. “Yes, I’m not sure about Jazz, but Nicky and I will be there.”

“You better bring my daughter-in-law.”

“I’ll ask her. Bendición, Ma.”

“Que Dios te bendiga. Adios mi amor.”

“Adios.” Javier slid his phone off. “Jazz.”

“Why didn’t you tell your family about us?”
she asked without moving.

“Because I don’t care what people think, not even my family. You’re the only person that counts.” He stood, and
then slowly moved forward, stopping in front of her. “I love you, Jazmine.”

She crossed her arms over her chest, pacing back. “Monica is pregnant?”

“Yes, she claims it’s mine.” He fingers brushed through his hair.

He saw the change in Jazmine’s eyes
, they were no longer angry, but hurt. “Didn’t you use protection with her?”

“Yes
, all the time, but she implied that she’d tampered with the condom.”

“She did what?” Jazmine
’s fist balled up.

“It doesn’t matter.”

“Yes it does!” she raised her voice.

“Baby, I can’t have kids.” Javier tried to take her hand, but she moved out of his grasp.

“What if?”

“No, there is no what if.” He raised his voice. “The doctors in Germany said I can’t have kids
, I’m sterile and I’ve learned to deal with it.” He sauntered away from her to the window.

“Javy, did you ever get a second opinion?”

He placed his hand on the wall, eyeing the yard. “I didn’t need one.”

He felt her soft hand on his back. “Maybe we should get one. Let another doctor check you out
.”

Javier spun
, glaring down at her. “Jazmine, is this going to be a problem between us?”

She arched her brows. “Huh
?”

“Me not being able to give you a child.”

“Javy, we have a son, and that’s enough.” She took his hand. “What we have is amazing, and what I feel for you is like no other emotion I’ve ever had.”

“Why do you love me?” Javier
barely looked at her, his eyes tearing up.

Jazmine touched his chest, making a heart shape with her index finger. “Because of this. I think you
’re amazing.”

His heart beat faster under her touch
—this is what Jazmine did to him. His body ached for her. She knew everything about him, and she still loved him.

Javier pulled her forward and hugged her tight, kissing her temple. “Every day I thank God for you. You and Nicolas are my life, and no one will come between us. They can try and I will crush them.”

Jazmine embraced him. “No one. We can get through anything together.”
