I wasn't wasting more of my time with these clowns. I grabbed her hand, shut the hood of my car,
and opened the door for her.

She was smiling and waving at them
as she put on her seatbelt.

She said, "Your friends are kind of funny. They were there, but they didn't really say anything. I thought it would be great if we all hung out."

Babe, they were too busy staring at your ass so they couldn't say anything.

"Maybe next time." I held her left hand.

We spent the rest of our date walking around the boutiques at Main Street. I discovered so many things about her. She was fun to be around and she was also super smart.

She tried to hide it but when I asked about her major, she said, “Nursing…minor in Chemistry.”

“So you have two college degrees within 4 years? Isn’t that crazy hard?” My surprise must have really shown on my face.

She answered quietly, “Ahuh. I love Nursing and I like Chemisty a lot too. I couldn’t decide which one to take so I took them both.”

“Wow. You’re super smart.”

She smiled, “I’m kind of a nerd.”

“You’re a sexy nerd. There’s nothing wrong with being a nerd,” I held her hand and kissed it. She had the softest hands.

“Yeah?” Her eyes lit up.

“Yeah. Sedona, I’m finding out that anything you do is sexy. You could probably spout out some chemistry stuff and it would turn me on,” I said.

“Whatever,” she dismissed me.

I looked at her, trying to convince her that I was telling the truth, “Come on, try me. Give me one of those chemistry or nursing things that will prove to me that you’re a nerd and I’m pretty sure it will turn me on.”

Her violet eyes gazed at me, her lips pursed, she started, “Here’s my favorite one. According to Avogadro, ‘
Equal volumes of different gases contain equal numbers of particles’.”

Damn, she was really smart. I had no idea who this Avocado dude was but I was pretty sure whatever she said was whatever that dude said.

“Explain it to me.” I encouraged her.

She licked her lips and leaned in closer. We were sitting beside each other, outside this little coffee place. When she leaned in closer, I caught a glimpse of her lacy white bra.

“Avogadro was trying to explain…” her breath was hot on my ears, “…that when hydrogen and nitrogen are at the same temperature and pressure, they have the same number of molecules under equal volumes,” she stopped, “and that me explaining this to you right now, makes me have the urge to kiss you.”

She could tutor me anytime.

We ended up kissing right there. She pulled away as soon as she realized that we were at a public place. Her cheeks were flushed.

We continued the make-out session in my car. I wanted to go up to her place, but she said she had tons of schoolwork to do.
On a Saturday night?

She was really serious with her school and stuff. I wasn’t about to ruin my chances with her so as much as I hated not continuing what we started, I kissed her one last time and walked her to her door.

I called Xavier to see what he was up to. He said Dom and John were already hanging out at our place. I looked up at Sedona’s apartment, secretly hoping that she would change her mind, but after a few minutes I drove off.

Sedona

Thank goodness, Tanya was home.

I debated between inviting Zander in and having him leave. The latter won because I had a feeling that if I let him inside, we would end up doing something that I had clearly no knowledge of.

I knocked on Tanya’s door.

She was sitting on her bed, trying a new hairstyle, in front of a large mirror. She was always doing something new with her looks.

“Hey, can I talk to you?” I asked.

She looked up at me, “Sure. How did the date with Super Hotness go?”

I grinned, “It went really well. As a matter of fact, that’s why I kind of wanted to talk to you.” Tanya knew that she and Nalee were my only sources of womanly advice. Through the years, I’ve learned that no topic was off limits to them. I only had to ask.

“That’s great! I’m really glad that you guys hit it off. You look really good together. The chemistry between you guys is off-the-charts.”

My face heated up, “About that chemistry,” I hesitated for a tiny second and just blurted it out, “Tanya, I think I’m ready.”

“Ready for what?” Her face looked puzzled and lit up when she guessed it correctly, “Oh, that! You’re ready to be deflowered.”

I laughed, “With Zander, I feel it. It’s different. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this type of innate, chemical imbalance with anyone else.”

Tanya said, “Girlfriend, only you could describe losing your virginity in a scientific statement.”

“So, umm, can you kind of help me out?” I paused, “I know he has tons of experience. I mean, look at him. I just don’t want it to be awkward. I want it to be good for him too.”

I wanted to be prepared. I wasn’t a prude or anything like that. It just hadn’t happened. Not that I didn’t know how to pleasure myself. I just honestly didn’t know what to expect during sex. I’ve read about it from a clinical standpoint. However, I’ve never been an active participant. The day I surprised Brennan was the day I was coming to terms that I wanted to try having sex with him. Obviously, that didn’t turn out well.

She patted her hand on the side of the bed, “Come here, my soon-to-be-ex-virgin friend. You came to the right place.” Her green eyes gleamed with mischief. “We’ll be watching some very, very naughty stuff tonight. Let’s just say, it will be kind of like doing homework for a big test.”

After 2 hours of watching and laughing at some very educational ‘videos’ from Tanya’s collection, I was pretty sure I got the gist of it.

The intense learning experience brought my thoughts to Zander. I texted him, as I settled in bed. Maybe he was out.

Me: Thanks again for today. I really had a great time.

Zander: Me too.

Me: U busy?

Zander: Nah, just watching the guys play beer pong

Me: Yeah?

Zander: Yup. Watcha up to? Done with ur stuff?

Me: Yup

Zander: Can I call u?

Me: Rain check? Kinda tired today and gotta be up early tomorrow.

Zander: Cool. When can I see u again?

Me: I’m busy tomorrow with group work. How about Tuesday night? Maybe after class. Not too late though.

Zander: I’d love to. Just can’t. Football game.

Me: Oh ok

Zander: How about Wednesday?

Me: Can’t. Early clinicals the next day

Zander: Thursday?

Me: Around 7? I’m free

Zander: Long time between now and Thursday

Me: I know

Zander: Can I call u in between?

Me: Sure. Curfew’s 11 on Mondays til Wednesdays

Zander: Curfew?? U kidding?

Me: No. I have to get up really early on those days. Clinicals start at 6:30.

Zander: That sucks

Me: Kinda, that’s just the way the life of a nerdy student goes

Zander: Alright, Thursday then

Me: K, goodnite

Zander: Goodnite. Dream of me

With that, I went to bed dreaming of him.

Over the next few days, Zander and I kept in touch with phone calls and texts. I told Kieran that Zander and I were seeing each other. He made a few comments about the tongue-drilling that Zander and I were giving each other at the bar. I silenced him and reminded him that I was holding a grudge for the Aaron Miller revelation. He just said that Zander seemed like a ‘good fellow’. Kieran was so weird sometimes. Who described a guy as a ‘fellow’ nowadays?

On Wednesday night, Zander asked me if I wanted to do something in particular for tomorrow. I said it was up to him.

Chapter Nine

“There’s always a first for everything”

Zander

I didn’t have a plan. I didn’t really make plans. I just wanted to see her. It had been 5 excruciatingly long days since I last saw her.

I called and texted her every day, but it wasn’t the same.

As much as I wanted to see her, she really had tons of stuff to do and our schedules were both heavy, so this was not a good week for us to meet up.

When I picked her up at her apartment on Thursday night, she smelled so good and she looked gorgeous. Her hair was tied
into some twist behind her head; she was wearing jeans and a sleeveless top.

Each time I saw her, it was like I was seeing her for the first time. I have seen and been with beautiful women. Sedona carried this innate beauty that appealed to an intrinsic part of me. I couldn’t figure it out. It confused the hell out of me.

I didn’t even wait until we were out of her door before I kissed her. Her response told me that she missed me as much as I missed her.

By the time I pulled out of our kiss, my voice was husky, "Where do you want to go?"

She lowered her lashes, I held her chin up. Her face was hot and flushed.

"I just want to chill," she said, "Maybe we can rent a movie."

"Sounds good," I said, "You want to watch it at my place?" Xavier was out with some girl tonight. Yes, we’d have
the place all to ourselves.

She answered silkily, "Yes."

First, we stopped by my favorite taqueria to buy some nachos. She said she was in the mood for some nachos and cheese. I was just in the mood for her. We also stopped at a grocery store and she picked 2 action movies from
the movie vending machine.

My kind of girl.

When we got to my place, I gave her a short tour. She said that my place was big and screamed ‘Bachelor
.’ The moment I told her that Xavier was my roommate, she joked that this place must have a revolving door for women.

I said, "Maybe Xavier's. Not mine."

She gazed at me and I swore I wanted to strip her naked right there.

I pushed the thought
out of my head. I made some popcorn in the microwave and started the movie. She enjoyed the nachos and popcorn. She also fed me some. I wasn’t really hungry. I stopped by Hudson’s with the guys after football practice. Having her feed me was plain hot and sexy.

I asked her to put her legs on the couch. Her head rested on a bunch of couch pillows. She looked relaxed. Comfortable.

The movie was turning out to be really good. I was engrossed in it. Sometime during the movie, her feet started caressing my leg. I let her tak
e command of the situation.

She sat up slowly and her hands started caressing the side of my head. She was teasing me. When her tongue touched my
earlobe, all bets were off.

I put her on top of me and I carried her to my room. We didn't say a word to each other. Our lips and tongues were doing all the talking. We were comm
unicating through our hands.
