Quinn stopped him before he hung up. “Hey.”

Derek was about to hit the red button when he heard his brother. “What now?”

“Happy for you. Don’t let her go this time, asshole.”

“Thanks, man.”

Hours later, Derek stepped out of the shower and watched Sandi as she sat at the small vanity in the bathroom applying her makeup. She was wearing the pink robe he’d gotten her all those years ago. The sight kicked him in the gut. She had been so young then. So innocent, and in some ways, still a child. He hadn’t realized it then. To him she was a beautiful woman, always had been, always would be.

Now though, as he watched her from across the steamy bathroom, he noticed a change in her posture. Her eyes seemed older, wiser even. Her smile was no longer carefree but instead powerful. Everything about her, the presence which she exuded, was a complete contradiction. He wanted to protect her from everything in the world, shelter her from all bad and evil things, anything that would hurt her or cause her pain, but seeing her in that moment, he knew that while he would protect her, she didn’t need it. She looked strong, confident, and ready to take on the world.

“Jesus.”

She smiled at him through the mirror’s reflection. “Something wrong?”

Her cute, little smile told him that she knew he’d been watching her. “You’re gorgeous, baby.”

The cute, little smile disappeared and was replaced with a huge blushing grin. “So are you, Derek.”

Drying off with the towel, he shrugged. “This is true.”

“Oh puhleease!” She rolled her eyes at him.

He walked out into the bedroom, dropping his towel on the way out. He had to snicker to himself because he knew that used to drive her nuts when they lived together. She was going to have to get used to all his annoying little habits though, and no sense in not starting now.

The outfits they decided to wear were already lying out on the bed. He would be wearing the same pants he had the night he’d first come here and found her. They weren’t his first choice, but he’d seen her eyes light up when she saw them in his suitcase. He wasn’t sure why she liked them, and it could have been the leather or the flap which opened so easily in the front. The reason didn’t matter. He knew she liked them, so that was what he would wear.

For her, he’d asked her to wear a form-fitting, black dress. It was short, easily hiked up, and had spaghetti straps at her shoulders. His favorite part of the dress was how it accentuated her breasts, lifting them and barely covering her gorgeous pink nipples.

He cocked his head to one side when he saw a black G-string sitting next to her dress. “Babe, what’s with the panties?”

“What’s with them? As in what are they for?”

“Yeah,” he answered.

“Well, I usually wear them.” She laughed. “Don’t tell me you want to.”

He glanced back into the bathroom to give her a look of humor. “Hardly. I mean, why are they out? You certainly don’t think you’ll be wearing panties tonight under that sexy, little dress do you?”

“Oh…no I guess I’m not.”

“That’s my girl.”

He was just finishing pulling up his pants when a knock came at the door. Before Sandi could ask who it was, he went to answer it. He didn’t want to ruin any surprises in case the package had arrived early.

Opening the door, he found Zach on the other side. “We have several couples joining us downstairs tonight.”

Derek hadn’t been expecting that. “I see. What time?”

“In an hour, and they’ve requested an audience, and anyone who wishes to participate is welcome as long as he remains in charge.”

He gave Zach a nod and sent him on his way. They both had already discussed the rest earlier. Now it was just a matter of time before the decision was made. They’d watch together, learn together, and decide together what was going to be good for them.

Turning, he saw Sandi standing before him naked, her arms up high in the air, as she attempted to let the dress shimmy down her body.

“Babe, let me help you.”

He came to her and pulled the stretchy fabric over her breasts, then down her stomach, and finally, covering her beautifully smoothly shaven pussy.

The sight of her made his cock jolt. He wanted her now. It was taking everything he had to not throw her on the bed, spread her thighs, and plunge inside of her. Tonight was a test for them though. They needed to take this journey together. Patience and restraint was the only way that would be possible. She didn’t know it yet, but in many ways, she was the one in control tonight. Nothing would happen unless she too agreed to it. Dominant or not, he would commit to nothing if she wasn’t right there with him.

He smoothed her long, wavy hair from her face. “You’re so beautiful.”

“Derek…” Her voice trailed off.

Bending his head down, he took her face in his hands and kissed her. It was tender and gentle, like their very first kiss had been.

“Are you ready?” he asked.

She nodded her head yes and placed her hand in his.

“Okay. Let’s go.”

They walked from the room hand in hand. He had no way to foresee what their evening may hold. One thing he did know, though, was that, the next time they were in this room, their lives would be changed forever.

He squeezed her hand a little tighter. He knew they were strong enough for this. He needed her to know it, too.

Chapter 25

Sandi felt Derek’s firm grasp of her hand tighten. Her heart was racing in part fear and part anticipation as they neared the rooms in the basement. She wasn’t sure what she was afraid of, the unknown, the unchartered territory, or her desires. Having Derek there with her helped calm her shaky nerves, if only a little.

Together, they descended the staircase side by side. For a fleeting moment, she wondered if he was as nervous as she was, but she quickly dismissed the idea. Derek was always calm and in control. Maybe that was what was making her feel safe.

Reaching the bottom step, she saw many couples sitting in the sitting room which Zach had turned into a makeshift lounge. The bar nestled in the far corner of the large room had a bartender which greeted both her and Derek with a smile and a wave of invitation to order something.

“Something to drink before we venture on?” he asked quietly in her ear.

“Yes, please.”

Still hand in hand, they walked over to the bartender who waved his arm toward the back wall showcasing his assortment of liquor.

“What’ll it be, sir?” the flaxen-haired bartender asked Derek.

It struck her when he called him sir. She knew it was merely his manners talking, but it brought back the reality of where they were and what they may encounter. Sir was a word used often in this environment to indicate giving respect to the person one was submitting to.

“I’ll have a scotch on the rocks, and the lady will have a cranberry and vodka.”

She hadn’t told Derek what she wanted to drink, but he knew her well, and that was one of her favorite cocktails. All she could do was smile at him for knowing her so well.

As the glasses were slid in front of them, Derek’s hand left hers as he reached for both and handed hers to her. She took a healthier sip than usual, feeling she needed a bit of liquid courage. Standing against the wall a few yards away from them was a couple of women who were showering a clearly dominant man with kisses and caresses. The sight, while arousing, brought back a bit of her unease. Nothing she wanted, no fantasy she craved, was worth doing something to cause a rift between her and Derek.

She must have been staring more than she’d realized because a whisper tickled her neck as he told her, “Relax, baby. You and I will be fine.”

Trusting him was her only option and the only thing that truly made her feel safe. Her nerves might be making her hyperaware of her surroundings right now, but she knew that he wouldn’t let them go down a path they couldn’t handle.

Zach was across the room talking to a man and woman who appeared to be even more nervous than she had. She wondered if that was how she looked the first time she had seen this type of an environment. She remembered the excitement and anxiety which riddled her that night. It was a contradiction of emotion that she had more bad memories of than good. It made her feel slightly sorry for the woman who was clutching at the man’s arm as though, if she let go, she would fall off of a cliff into the abyss.

“Why don’t you finish that drink, and let’s go for a walk down the canyon.”

Derek’s soothing voice broke her thoughts from Zach and the couple, and she looked up at him with an adoring smile. The canyon, as Zach had dubbed it, was a term for the wide hallway which led to the various rooms where scenes were being performed. He’d explained to her “canyon” seemed an appropriate name because of its wide space which led to dark rooms, dimly lit with rich and exotic colors. He claimed that one only had to walk down the canyon to explore until they found the right cave which suited them. At the time, she’d thought it an unusual metaphor for a place which centered on sex and all different types one could have. Now, looking at the atmosphere, the soft lights casting shadows against the walls as people walked to and from, it made perfect sense.

She swallowed the last of her drink and set her glass down on the bar. Derek smiled at her patiently. His glass had been empty minutes before. He held his arm out to her, and she accepted.

One of the first caverns they came across on her right was of a man and a woman. He was bent over a bench, his mouth held open by the ball gag which was strapped to the back of his head. The woman who was circling him and scolding him for having done something without asking seemed pleased with the red welts on his bottom. Her hand stroked and played with the crop in her hand as she continued her speech. She’d seen something of this nature before, but it didn’t do anything for her libido. Derek must have concurred because he slowly pulled her away as they continued on.

On the left, she saw two women on the floor, one hovering over the other as they pleasured one another. There was a man standing over them. His arms were crossed, and his pants were open and pulled slightly down, exposing his hardened dick. Despite his erection, he seemed strangely calm as he watched them. As though he was studying their reactions to one another and what they were experiencing. He didn’t seem at all fazed by the dozen or so couples which were surrounding them in the large room.

“He’s enjoying watching them. This moment is about them right now. Not his needs.”

Startled, she looked to Derek. “How did you know what I was thinking?” she whispered her question.

Giving her a half smile, he kissed her forehead. “I just did.”

She didn’t doubt that he could read her that well. He’d always been able to in the past, so she wasn’t sure why it had surprised her.

They stayed watching the two women pleasing each other, both of them moaning in unison and clearly close to orgasm.

“They’re waiting,” Derek told her.

“Waiting?”

“To be given permission.”

She flushed when Derek said those words. For a moment, it brought her back to nights ago when Derek had controlled her and her body, when he was in charge of everything they did. He must have caught her reaction because he winked at her and motioned back toward the couple for her to keep watching.

The women were writhing against each other now. The moans coming from them were almost painful to hear. It was clear they were in agony, just on the brink of being let go to enjoy that euphoric feeling that came over one right as they came.

Minutes passed as they and others watched. A noise caught her attention, and she peeked her head around Derek to see a woman on her knees hurriedly unfastening the pants of the man standing before her as she looked up at him. Her eyes looked hungry.

She couldn’t look away as she watched the woman pull out the man’s dick and slide it into her willing mouth. Unconsciously, she licked her lips and felt liquid heat build from her pussy. She understood the woman’s hunger. So many times, she’d felt that need. Her eyes were locked on the woman until she felt eyes on her. She looked up to see the man in question staring at her. His eyes locked to her gaze as his hands ran though the woman’s hair, pulling her head to him.

“Look away from him right now!”

Derek’s sharp tone startled her. She’d been lost in what they were doing and hadn’t even realized she was staring. She looked to find an unhappy scowl on his face.

“I…” She was suddenly speechless, unsure of what to say. He seemed angry.

“Come with me.” He grabbed onto her hand and quickly escorted her from the room.

“Derek, what’s wrong?” She didn’t know what she had done, but he was most definitely upset about something.

He didn’t answer her, but instead led her on a hurried path down the canyon, his grip of her hand never relenting as they raced past rooms and scenes that she was only able to catch a glimpse of.

They reached the end of the canyon and stopped. There was nowhere else to go. The only door before them was a door which was marked
