The subordinate task forces that composed Task Force 714 also went by numerical designations. Those numbers changed continually over the years, but for the sake of simplicity I will use one number for each component task force throughout these chapters, even where it is anachronistic. For example, Task Force 16 operated in Iraq, Task Force 328 in Afghanistan, and separate task forces in other locations. Additional task forces were organized over time as our TF 714 mission expanded.
