Doss and the crew had left behind no evidence leading back to
America, but he’d unintentionally ignited a fire along the way.
It would be a spark that neither he, JunJie, nor Gacha had ever
anticipated.

CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

CHILLVILLE

Come on outside who wanna ride with these big boys…we
got some big toys in the parking lot making big noise…we bring
them hoes out like it’s summer…blowing marijuana…while
we rolling in that hummer…with no drama…”
The
rapper Tela’s song,
Bring them Hoes Out,
blared loudly
from the opened sunroof of Dawk’s Escalade the first week in
November of 2004.

Things were back in order for Doss and the Chicago at this point. The
crew was now back in full power in Saint Louis and the crew was now
supplying Detroit, Milwaukee, and Cleveland as well, through
increased shipments.

Asa Spade and his crew, meanwhile, were back in full control of
Denver and also had cocaine in Idaho, Wyoming, North and South
Dakota. The network was up and running at full steam once again; and
without any more hits on the table, the big three got to spend more
time back in Ponca City.

Junior had spent a week down in Vegas recovering and going through
several surgeries. He was still recovering from the bullet wound that
had left the left side of his body partially paralyzed, but Doctor
Fitzgerald assured him that he would regain complete control of his
extremities in six months or so as the wound healed. He was now
living on the ranch and spending his days with Tiva, who was carrying
twin baby girls, the two of them planning to marry in April of 2005.

Dawk, Bay and T-top simply loved hanging out in Ponca City; here they
were celebrities, and they garnered no retaliation in their hometown;
besides, the only person in Saint Louis that knew where the family
resided was Junior, and he never spoke about Oklahoma to no one as
for as they all knew and believed. Fun times were had, and this cold
November night in 2004 down in Ponca City, a few of the siblings were
hanging out in the parking lot of Kaw Lake Park listening to music
and just kicking back in the cold air.

Bay was sitting in her old school Lincoln with AquaNina sipping
champagne with the heat on, the two of them making sweet talk and
planning a trip to Oklahoma City to do some Christmas shopping with
Tiva and Junior on Black Friday.

Dawk was beside the lake shore with Oneika. She was his sole woman
now ever since his girl Jordan had hooked up Walee. It wasn’t
that long ago when Walee had told his father, grandfather DeeDee,
Mendoza and Dawk that he would never like girls. Those thoughts
quickly vanished, however when Walee hit puberty a year ago. Frequent
wet dreams, porno-flicks and conversations with Dawk had piqued his
interest. So much so he’d paid eighteen year-old Jordan
Whispers a hundred dollars to have sex with him a few months back in
late August. All the things he’d said he would never do, right
up to paying for sex, Walee had done at age thirteen. He’d
turned fourteen a month earlier and was now wide open in November of
2004.

Jordan was no better. At one point she was sleeping with Dawk and
Walee, but Dawk cut her off because he was really beginning to like
twenty-year-old Oneika Brackens. Dawk got around, having been with a
few girls in the city, but Jordan wasn’t someone he wanted on
his team because of the way she carried herself now. She would let
Walee handle her in some of the worse ways imaginable. Everybody knew
it, but none of the siblings did a thing to correct it because they
all felt Jordan, being four years older than Walee, should have known
better.

The door on Dawk’s Escalade flew open and the music grew
louder. He turned and saw Jordan jump from the backseat and spit onto
the ground.

“I told you not to shoot off in my mouth, Walee!” Jordan
yelled.

“The fuck you doing? Get your Judy Jetson-looking ass back in
this mutherfuckin car,” fourteen year-old Walee yelled to
eighteen year-old Jordan as Bay, Dawk, AquaNina and Oneika burst into
laughter.

Walee couldn’t get enough of Jordan, who liked having sex with
him as well, but each time she went down on Walee, he erupted into
her mouth without warning, something she hated. Jordan couldn’t
walk away though because hanging with the Holland family’s
children and sharing in some of the expensive toys they owned was too
alluring. She spat onto the ground and wiped her mouth with the back
of her hands and turned and faced Dawk’s SUV. “Don’t
do that no more, man!” Jordan snapped.

“Alright,” Walee sighed. “My bad, baby girl, but
it’s cold, come on back in and close the door. I ain’t
gone do it again.”

“Walee, man, you say that every time! You play too much!”
Jordan said as she walked back to the Escalade, got in and closed the
door. Before long the SUV was bouncing up and down. Jordan was
Walee’s first, but she wouldn’t be his last by a long
shot as he wanted to sow his young oats to fullest extent possible.
The youngest of Naomi’s two sons was slowly turning into a
player, but he’d rather call himself a ladies man.

Dawk laughed and turned back to Oneika. “What’s wrong
with your girl?” he asked.

“Man, she fall for that play every time. She might as well
swallow and get it over with,” Oneika said laughingly.

“That girl there weak-minded. Walee gone meet his match early,
though, watch what I tell ya’,” Dawk said as he and
Oneika walked a good ways down the lake shore towards a stack of
fallen timbers where they began building a bon fire.

After a while, everyone was out in front the huge fire Dawk and
Oneika had built. The six family and friends were just hanging out
having a good time, Dawk, Oneika and Jordan sipping brandy, Bay and
Oneika dancing and Walee cracking jokes with everybody; it was just
good country living down in Ponca City in late fall of 2004.

“Hey Bay, check my new dance!” AquaNina said as she began
to do the butterfly, an old dance from the early nineties where a
person would slowly move their legs in and out like wings. Bay
watched and burst into laughter when AquaNina closed her eyes and
wrinkled her lips as she danced. “Girl, what is that?”
Bay asked before she guzzled her champagne.

“It’s called the butterfly, how I look?”

“You look ugly as fuck!” Walee yelled as he threw a
snowball that crashed in AquaNina’s face. Soon, an all-out snow
ball fight got underway as the group began running around the
darkened park.

“Damn, Kimi,” Koko sighed as she lay back on the bed.
“Girl, if people in the family knew what we were doing I would
be so embarrassed.”

“Me too, girl. But they ain’t gone find out. It feels
good though, don’t it?” Kimi asked.

“It does.” Koko sighed.

“You want me to do it again, Koko?”

“Yeah, but go slow this time. I really wanna feel it, Kimi.”

Kimi leaned forward and Koko rose up from the pillows and the two sat
face to face. Kimi placed the blunt in her mouth in reverse and blew
her sister another strong shotgun, letting the smoke linger in the
air as her sister inhaled deeply.

This was a private party the sixteen year-old middle daughters were
having on this cold November night. Spoonie and Tyke were having a
slumber party with a few of their friends from their softball team
and the dozen or so twelve and thirteen year-olds had the theater
room on lock. And what Kimi and Koko had planned couldn’t be
done on the ranch anyways as there were too many eyes around. A trip
to the movies and then the bowling had become their story, but in all
actuality, they’d scored a twenty-five dollar bag of weed from
Jane Dow’s parents and rented a suite in town.

Kimi and Koko loved to pamper themselves; this day was no different.
The suite they were in had two king-sized beds, a large Jacuzzi, two
thirty-two inch screen TVs and a wet bar. They’d stopped at
Kentucky Fried Chicken and bought a fifteen piece box of original
with cole slaw and macaroni, a two liter Pepsi and copped Ludacris’
latest CD to go along with their burnt copies before parking their
bodies inside the hotel.

The twins were kicking back in the plush room wrapped up in thick
cotton robes with mud packs on their faces. They’d done their
nails and were preparing to style one another’s hair, but had
decided to smoke a blunt. It was their first time getting high, and
the feeling was indescribable. They sat on the bed giggling, enjoying
the light-headed feeling the drug was producing.

“Turn the radio on,” Koko said as she took the blunt from
Kimi and took a few tokes.

Martha and Twiggy, meanwhile, were just entering the west side of
Ponca City on Highway 60, the two having driven in from Salina,
Kansas. The day Naomi had shared the family business with Martha, she
was left a little stunned. She had an idea Doss was pushing drugs,
but she never imagined him being a killer-for-hire and had trained
her oldest nephew and nieces to the same.

Naomi didn’t go into full detail nor did she discuss jobs with
Martha, she only told her that the business sometimes called for
gunplay. Martha understood. She’d run the streets herself back
in Ghost Town, but Naomi and her bunch were on an entirely different
level. Martha didn’t pass judgment on her family though; she
actually respected the way Naomi balanced business and family.

When she was done talking to Naomi that day, Martha sought out
Twiggy. She wanted to know why her friend wanted to not hear what
Naomi had to say. The two went into Naomi’s private room and
Twiggy was nearly in tears when she told Martha that she wanted to
die a free woman and a peaceful death.

Forty-five year-old Irene ‘Twiggy’ Charles was the last
surviving member of her family. All of her relatives had died
violently. Her brothers, Nolan and Peter Paul, having been shot to
death in Jackson, Mississippi along with her nephew Simon, and her
favorite brother, Albert Lee, was executed in Parchment State
Penitentiary. Both of Twiggy’s parents had died behind bars.
Her mother was stabbed to death and her father had succumbed to
pneumonia, although Twiggy knew he’d actually died of AIDS.

You got your whole family, Martha. I just wanna enjoy life
and watch these kids grow up. Help around when I can and just be a
part of the family until my dying day,”
Twiggy told Martha
back in October, which was a month ago.

Forty-five year-old Martha understood Twiggy’s reasoning. And
she herself had no direct involvement in the family’s outside
business at the time, but she was willing to get involved should it
come to it. If Twiggy wanted to remain on the outside and just live
amongst the family, Martha had no problem with it because in all
honesty, Twiggy was family long before Naomi had entered the picture.
The two would continue to drive for the family and enjoy life with
the understanding that Martha may someday take a different path.

Martha was behind the wheel of her and Twiggy’s rig as she and
Twiggy cruised into town. She wore a cowgirl hat and had on a thick
jean jacket as the heat had gone out in the truck. She and Twiggy
were bundled up inside the rig eager to get home when Martha noticed
her Sebring parked in front of the Holiday Inn Express.

“What the fuck is this shit here?” Martha asked perplexed
as she pulled the eighteen wheeler into the hotel’s truck
parking area.

Twiggy looked and saw Martha’s car. “Hey, who got your
shit? Dawk or Bay?”

“It
better
be one of them and not who the fuck I
think
it is!” Martha exclaimed as she dialed T-top’s number on
her cell phone.

“Sup?” Tiva asked as she lay beside Junior in her
bedroom.

“You got my whip, T-top?”

“Nahh. I’m home chillin’ with Junior, girl. I can’t
move around in the shape I’m in.”

“Where Kimi and Koko?”

“They said they was going to the movies and then hang out at
the bowling alley. Why?”

“Never mind!” Martha snapped as she hung up her phone,
grabbed her .44 magnum and she and Twiggy exited the rig and walked
towards the hotel’s front desk and obtained an extra key after
arguing with the receptionist for several minutes.

How you ain’t gone fuck…bitch I’m me…I’m
the reason your got damn ass is up in V.I.P
…”
Ludacris’ song
Stand Up
was earsplitting inside one of
hotel rooms as Kimi and Koko stood in the center of the room dancing.
Kimi had a beer in her hand and Koko had just taken another long toke
from the blunt straight to the head and she was just as lit as her
twin. The girls were ‘dropping it like it was hot’,
‘pussy-popping’ and ‘making it clap’ inside
the room as they danced in their robes.

When I move you move…just like that…when I
move you move…just like that…when I move you move…just
like that…hell yeah, eh DJ bring that back…”

Kimi and Koko were both face to face pussy-popping when the door
opened and in stepped Martha. She wrinkled her face when the stench
of marijuana filled her nostrils as she scanned the room.

Kimi stopped when she saw Martha and Twiggy. Koko, however, had her
back to the door and was steadily dancing. She saw Kimi staring at
the entrance to the room. She pussy-popped up from her bent-over
stance and asked, “What’s wrong, Kimi? You look like you
seen a—Martha!” Koko screamed when she turned around and
eyed her aunt.

“What the
fuck
y’all doing in this room?”
Martha asked loudly as Twiggy closed the door and turned off the
music.

“Nothin, Auntie! We was just dancin’!” Kimi and
Koko replied.

“Dancin! In ya’ fuckin’ drawls? Looking like you
work in a strip club? Put your shit on!”
