Onyx Mafia: Insatiable - Episode 6: (Lia and Meghan) (Onyx Mafia Insatiable) (4 page)

I glanced at her. “It wasn’t like they were all one night stands. I courted them, I dated them. Individually and sometimes not individually.”

Meghan’s brow raised but she didn’t ask.

I continued. “Most knew about me and the other’s role, but it was not particularly discussed. Nobody was proud of themselves. And then the inevitable happened.”

“Someone became jealous or possessive?”

“Yes.” I stared at the ragged tree. The two replacements on their sides.

“The coward found out where I lived, came to my home to scare me, maybe rough me over a bit. What he found was Zi sleeping alone in my bed.”

Meghan was quiet for a while. “What happened, Lia?”

“He was incensed that I was with someone, someone who was obviously more than a fling. More than… an experiment. He saw her clothes in my closet, her toothbrush next to mine. He was not a nice man, but I thought…” My heart clenched at the arrogance of my younger self, “It doesn’t matter what I thought.”

“Lia?”

I closed my eyes. “He beat her.”

Meghan swallowed. “Bad?”

“He hit her with anything he could lift, and some things he shouldn’t have been able to. Broke her arm, her wrists. Fractured her leg in three places, bruised most of her bones below the waist. Almost every inch of her skin was bloody and bruised. Then he dragged her outside and dumped her in the back of his car. Drove for miles.” Oh my Love, I’m so sorry. “Eventually he had second thoughts about killing her and threw her out in the middle of nowhere.”

“Jesus, Lia. Just…. shit!”

“How I found her I don’t remember. There was a garbled, pitiful phone call, Zi using some stranger’s phone. Spitting out a city, a street name as I drove in circles, finding nothing until... until I did.”

My hands tightened on the wheel. “He didn’t lay a hand on her face. Not one fucking finger.”

Meghan’s mouth was open, face dark with fury. “Where the fuck is that bastard, now?”

“Don’t worry. He’s been taken care of.” I turned on the car. “Let’s get you back to the hotel.”

Another silent drive, Meghan trying to digest what happened to Zi. What it meant for our relationship.

“She didn’t leave you after that?”

“No.” I smiled, shaking my head. “I begged her to, told her it was for her own good. Tried to push her away using all my persuasive powers. It didn’t matter, she does what she wants.”

Realized I needed some way to protect us, protect her from our risk taking habits. We needed a family’s protection.

My laugh was soft in the whirring padding of the car. “Meghan, I swear – stubborn women will be the death of me.”

I pulled into the hotel’s drop off.

Meghan shifted. “Well…”

“Yes?”

“Aren’t you going to find a way for me to invite you up? Do something that makes me lose control and drag me upstairs. Isn’t that how you work, Lia?”

She would rather have me do exactly that: take the decision out of her hands, blame me in the morning.

“If you want me to come up to your room Meghan, invite me.“

Silence. The locks clicked loudly as I unlocked them. “Well, then. See you tomorrow morning.”

She didn’t move. “I want you to come up, Lia. I want you to come up so fucking bad it scares me.” Her hand brushed mine, landing brief and fluttering off.

“Do you keep your promises?”

I raised a brow. “Are you asking if I am a liar?” I couldn’t help but laugh at her expression. “No, I understand. Yes. I almost always keep my promises, barring extenuating circumstances.”

Meghan nodded. “Good enough. I want you to promise that unless I’m, like, on fire you won’t touch me. Not a finger.” She paused. “For three days.”

“Why?”

“Because I can’t make a clear decision based on how horny I am. Lia, you are asking me to essentially move in you with you and join a fucking mafia. And all I can think about is how good you taste, that throaty gasp you make when you climax.”

She shuddered, digging her fingers into her thigh. Looked down at them and shook her head.

“Goddamn it, Lia. I’m clawing myself to keep from jumping over there and shoving my tongue down your throat. And inside everywhere else.”

Mmmm.

I cleared my throat gently. “Well. If I agree to promise this I will need to have a few moments with you right now. For, say... half a minute?”

“Just a few seconds, then you will leave me alone for three days?’

“I won’t touch you for three days. Unless you are on fire, of course. Promise.”

She looked dubious I had actually agreed to such a proposal.

I smiled, pulling out to the hotel’s parking lot, coasting to the back of it and turning the car off once more.

“Come here, Meghan.”

Unbuckling, she scooted over, face rising expectantly.

“Closer.”

She leaned in and I smiled, shaking my head.

“More, Meghan.”

She bit her lip, staring at me. Swung her legs over the panel until she was straddling me, her legs wedged between the door and the stick shift, neck bent low under the car’s ceiling.

I kept my hands down and loose on my sides. Watched the thoughts on her face - it was like a picture show. She wrote cinematic monologues with the flicker of her eyelid, the twitch of a cheek, the flare of her nostril...

My heart swelled. I clenched my hands to keep from grabbing her, taking her roughly, my arm pinning her against the steering wheel, my other hand working the tantalizing recess of her red panties, slipping into her while she gasped, horn blaring loud with her arching back.

She would love it.

I sighed. But, I promised.

“Closer, Meghan.” Pushed my knees, rocking her toward me. Her shirt peeked open and I swallowed, letting the need show.

Her lips curved, soft and knowing. She took my face in her hands and kissed me.

It was a good kiss – sweet as a summer morning, full of promise, warmed with the startled intimacy of newfound love. Her lips and tongue brushed mine, a slow and sure dance as she explored the depths of me, basking and languid.

I pulled away and she smiled again, ruefully. “Was that 30 seconds?”

“That was 30 seconds of you touching me, Meghan. Now, it is my turn.”

I brought her to me. Where she was sweet I was spice – the heat of summer, the sweat of it. The dangers of the fire and the delicious exhilarations of dancing with it, letting it flicker along your skin.

I kissed the underside of her chin, her jaw, trailing bites down her neck, each one stronger than the last until for the first time, I drew blood. Her back arched into it, shuddering, thrusting her pelvis desperately against my moving hand.

“Fuck, Lia. Why do you make me feel this good?”

Because I want you to stay, Meghan. Because I need you to trust me. Because I love you.

I pulled my hand away, turning my head. Straining not to finish her off like the last piece of chocolate in the box.

She looked at me, interrupted passion flicking between bewilderment and annoyance. “Some kind of lesson, Lia?”

“No. I did promise you. Half a minute, no more.”

The sounds of our breathing filled the car. She leaned into my shoulder, rebuilding her resolve, eyelashes tickling my neck when she closed her eyes. Her lips and hands stayed pressed on me, hips making minute movements.

“Okay,” she said, her voice muffled into my neck. “What did you want to talk to me about?”

“Are you still inviting me up?”

She used the seat to prop herself up, “You still want to? Even without, you know, doing things with, to, me?”

“Yes, of course Meghan.”

I don’t need to touch you at all to do things with you. To you.

She smiled. “Okay.”

“I have a phone call to make. I’ll meet you in your room in a few moments.”

“Do you know what room I’m in?”

I just smiled, taking my phone out.

“Of course you do.” She regarded me, not entirely displeased. “You know absolutely everything about me, don’t you?”

I watched her walk away, my phone dialing Zi. “Sweetheart, can you send me the number of that cute receptionist that works in the East Office. Red hair. Her name, I believe, is Heidi…”
