But that was a story for another day.

I kicked the girls club out of my room for the five minutes before the ceremony, trying to de-frazzle myself and fix my hair. I still had it purple because, well, fuck the people who thought it would look tacky to have purple hair on your wedding day. I looked like a freaking fairy with it all straight and around my shoulders, the white, understated floral crown on top to tie it into my dress.

My makeup was barely-there and I had been convinced to go commando underneath.

No bra.

No panties.

No boundaries.

I had pestered Repo about where our consummation was to take place, but he was keeping real tight-lipped about it. I figured having easy access would make things simpler in case the place he picked ran the chance of being happened upon if we stayed too long.

There was a knock on the door and, figuring it was K to come and fetch me, I told him to come in.

I saw my mouth fall open in the mirror as I watch someone else's reflection approach me.

"Kotyonok," Ruslan said, giving me a sweet smile, his hand going to his heart.

"Rus?" I asked, standing suddenly and spinning to face him. "What are you doing here?"

"You think you'd get married and I'd miss it?"

"I haven't seen you in over a year," I said, shaking my head at seeing him in an actual suit. It was deep gray and cut perfectly over his wide, strong frame.

It was true.

The last time we had seen Ruslan was when he came to visit the compound the year before to inform us he was officially done with Miami and on his way back to the city. K had located the Russian importer and gotten in touch within a week of getting back to the city after saving me. Let's just say that Viktor met a fitting end. It was what anyone would expect from a Russian mobster: violent, brutally so.

Then he and said Russian had teamed up to get Illeana out of her arranged marriage.

Last I heard, she had refused to go back home with her brother and decided to finally live her own life in the city. K kept tabs on her. And, well, let's just say... she was the kind of personality that could give Janie, Alex, and Lo a run for their money.

But since then, Rus had been next to nothing to us. He was an occasional text on holidays. That was about it.

To see him in my suite on my wedding day, despite the invitation, was a complete shock.

"Yes, well, I had a lot of work to catch up on, Maisy. But I'd never miss this. I was there when the man thought he was coming to rescue you from me. I thought I should be here to watch your happily ever after play out. You deserve it, kotyonok, after all you have been through," he said, crossing the room and going on his knees in front of me. Reaching out, he took my hands, running his thumb over my engagement ring. "I might always regret never acting sooner, but I'm happy to see you happy."

"Stop it," I demanded, looking up at the ceiling and blinking furiously. I was not, was
not
going to be all sappy because it was my wedding day.

"You look like a fairy," he informed me and I felt the smile stretch wide, causing one stray tear to trail down my cheek. He released my hands to carefully brush it away. "You have someone to give you away?"

Oh, lord.

I blinked harder.

The men around me all knew I was fatherless.

And so far, not only K and Rus had offered to walk me, but so had Cash, Shooter, Renny, and, no lie,
freaking
Duke.

It was just... all too much.

"K," I croaked out, my voice thick with the unshed tears.

"Perfect," he said, giving me a warm smile as he took his feet. "I will see you out there, kotyonok. Best wishes."

I turned back to my mirror and touched up my cheeks and eyes then stood just as K let himself in the door to take me to the ceremony. One look at him and the tears struck again.

He fought back a smile and got all serious on me. "You're going to suck it up and blink back those tears. Then you're going to take my arm and I am going to walk you down the stairs so you don't break your neck in that skirt. Then I am going to walk you down an aisle surrounded by people who love and respect you and I am going to give you to a man who has proved time and again that he is worthy of you."

Immediately, I felt my shoulders relax. I felt my tears ease away.

Good old K.

He always knew just what to do.

"Okay. Let's get me married," I agreed, taking his arm and letting him follow through with the plan.

The inside of the hall was, with Reign's money and Summer, Amelia, and Elsie's vision, well, a freaking dream come to life. It was all soft cremes and whites, understated twinkle lights, and flawless flowers.

Quite frankly, it looked like the kind of room Cinderella would get married in.

Yeah, it was that good.

I owed Reign, Summer, Amelia, and Elsie huge.

"Deep breath," K said as I searched the room for a second, taking in everyone's smiles. Then the music started and my gaze found Repo's and everything else fell away.

"
Shot?" Duke asked in the room before the ceremony, brow raised, message clear: he was having too much fun being young and free to even consider the fact that there was nothing nerve-racking whatsoever about my wedding day to me.

"He's not nervous," Renny corrected, shrugging a shoulder. "He's anxious."

"Stop fucking analyzing my men, Renny," Reign said, shaking his head. Renny's best asset was also a real pain in the fucking ass to live with day-to-day. He drove half the men up the wall. It wasn't exactly uncommon to find out he was in another fight much like the one he had been in with Duke back when they were probies. It was just how he was. He was a testament to the life-lasting effects fucked-up parenting caused.

"They're ready for you," Cash said, leaning in the door.

I nodded, standing, the suit feeling foreign on my skin. Can't say I could remember a single instance outside my uncle's funeral that I had the occasion to wear one. But, well, Summer wouldn't hear of me wearing anything else. She got Reign, Cash, and Wolf in suits as well.

When the music started and everyone turned to look at Maze, I felt my stomach clench hard as I turned to do the same. It wasn't fear. It was something else I didn't fully recognize, like excitement and nerves mingled together.

And, fuck.

I was pretty sure nothing in the world would ever compare to seeing her walking down the aisle in that white gown, a wobbly smile on her face, her purple hair down her shoulders, her arm wrapped with K's, wearing one of my rings and making her way toward me to get another, the one that promised everything I had to offer... for the rest of our lives.

K shook my hand, pulling me close, and saying low and threateningly in my ear, "You fuck her over, I fuck you up." He clapped me on the back and gave me a huge smile as he handed me my woman, the significance there almost overwhelming. He was
giving her
to me. He expected me to step up, to do whatever was necessary to keep her safe and happy, like he would do. And that smile he gave me didn't mean dick. His words were not an empty threat. If I screwed up, I knew I could count on K showing up on my doorstep.

"I know you're safe now," K said to Maze, giving her a smile that was warm and open, "so just keep kicking ass, love."

Then he kissed her cheek and we turned to the preacher.

Judging by the way she kissed me back after we were pronounced, I was pretty sure she was excited about my conjugal surprise for later.

"Thank God you listened to me," Alex said as the girls club sat around a table at the reception which was in no way any less lavish than the ceremony itself. It was as if it was a continuation of the same room. The flowers, lights, table cloths and settings, it all matched perfectly.

Alex was referring to the clothes the girls club were wearing.

I say clothes, not dresses, because I had, indeed, listened to Alex. I had learned that if you wanted straight honesty and practicality with absolutely no girly embellishments, you went to Alex. So when she showed up at my office the afternoon after I picked out my dress, sat down and informed me about the fights that had erupted over bridesmaid dresses for Lo's wedding, I listened.

Lo, Amelia, Summer, and Elsie were in dresses of varying styles dependent upon their body shapes but in the same unusual rosy-creme color that I hadn't been aware existed until Elsie showed it to me. Alex and Janie were in cream slacks and silky blouses that matched the dresses. Amelia, Summer, and Elsie were in heels. Lo, Janie, and Alex were not.

I hadn't had one single complaint.

It was a beautiful thing.

Thank God I listened to Alex indeed.

"I still can't believe Ferryn decided half way down the aisle that she didn't want to be a flower girl anymore, abandoned her basket, and went to sit on Vin's lap instead," Lo said, smiling like she approved.

"He told me that she told him that she thought flowers are boring," Summer laughed, rolling her eyes.

"They
are
boring," Janie shrugged. "Give me a nice new shiny gun any day of the week."

"Yes, well, we are trying to keep a gun out of her hands until she's at least twelve," Summer laughed.

"Excuse me, girls, can I borrow my wife for a second?" Repo asked, snaking a hand around my belly and kissing under my ear. I'm not gonna lie, my belly did a little flip-flop at the word 'wife'. It still felt weird, but in a way that was too delicious to ever want to have it stop being weird.

Lo, Janie, Alex, and Amelia shared a look that was both devilish and knowing, leaving Elsie's brows to draw together until Alex leaned over and explained it to her, making her choke on the wine she had been trying to drink.

So, yeah, Lo and Cash on their wedding day consummated their marriage in a closet because they couldn't wait to get to their room to get their hands on each other.

They figured that was what we were doing as well.

Which was totally right.

Except we weren't grabbing a closet.

Oh, no.

"What are you doing?" I whisper-yelled at Repo, looking down the empty hall as he grabbed a lock pick out of his pocket and was working on a door.

"Shh," he said, kneeling down to undo the lock in an impressive ten seconds, the handle releasing and the door pushing open. "It's your surprise," he told me, pulling me into the darkened room, closing, and locking the door before reaching for the switch and flicking the light on.

I felt the smile spread slowly across my face until my cheeks hurt as I looked around.

"Right there," Repo said, pointing.

To the altar.

Where we had just been married.

I turned to him, big smile in place. "Perfect."

With that, my hand was snagged and I was hauled against his chest. His lips were slow, explorative, teasing. But it wasn't long before the nerves and excitement and the weight of our actions that day made us needy, frantic, uncontrolled. His hands roamed my body as best they could with the endless yards of material covering it.

"Jesus Christ, how much material is there?" he asked, ripping his mouth from mine after having tried to gather up my skirt... and failing. "Fuck it," he said, pulling me to the altar and pushing me down onto it, getting down on his knees and pushing my skirt up so that it gathered around my waist... and chest... and shoulders. What can I say? It was a
ball gown
... the mass of the skirt pooled everywhere.

But I had, say, two seconds to muse on that before I felt Repo press my knees open and his mouth was on me, his tongue sliding up my cleft and circling my clit before his lips closed around it and sucked hard. I held the back of his head to me, my legs closing around the sides of his head as my hips rose to meet his mouth. His hand slid from my thigh and moved between us, shoving inside and raking over my G-spot until I felt myself tightening around him, threatening oblivion.

But then he yanked against my hold, sitting back on his ankles so his hands could work his fly. Imprisoned by my impractical dress, I couldn't do much but lay there and wait for him to come to me. Which he took his sweet time doing, sitting there, looking down at me for what felt like forever, one hand stroking his cock, the other sliding almost absentmindedly down my inner thigh.

"Mine," he said finally, planting his hands on either side of me, his cock pressing into my thigh.

"Mmhmm," I agreed because, well, I was.

I hadn't even stopped agreeing when he slammed inside me to the hilt, claiming me completely.
