We stared at each other for a moment and then burst out laughing.
“I could just see you making jokes in your head.” His shoulders shook with mirth.
“Oh my god, Cole.” My abs hurt so bad from laughing I almost cried. “We have to move.”
“Maybe one day,” he said. “If that’s what you really want.”
I stopped laughing. “Really? You’d leave—for me?”
He nodded. “If you decide that’s what you really want.” His elegant hands cupped my face.
“Stay with me,” he said. “Hide my cuffs, burn my house down. Drive me fucking crazy. Just don’t leave me.”
