ROMANCE: The Alien Tyrant's Prey - The Frozen Planet: Science Fiction Romance - A Sci-fi Alien Invasion Romance Dinosaurs Thriller HEA Story Book (Bonita and Zaak's Sci Fi Romance Adventure 2) (6 page)

The unbearable itch of his poisoned leg has driven Zaak into the ice cold sea water.   All he wants now is to kill himself.

His free-stroke is excellent.  Within minutes, he is far away from the shore.  He knows that he has to exhaust himself before his body can sink.

“Fuck! FUCK!”

He swings his arms and kicks his legs with all his strength.   The damn army training has given him a strong body.  He can easily swim for a couple of hours.

But the fucking itch is driving him crazy.  He doesn’t want to swim any longer.  He wants to drop down like a rock and leaves the itch behind.

After about twenty minutes, his leg turns numb.  The water is so fucking cold that he can barely feel anything, itch or otherwise.

Then, gradually, he begins to feel some relief.  Yes, relief!  His limbs are moving in harmony.   His mind flies back to the time he won the long distance armed swimming.   “Good job, Zaak.” The captain hit his chest with the fist.

Holy fuck, no more itch!

He is so pleased to find that the ice-cold water is the cure for his itch.   He swims back to shore, enjoying every stroke.  “Uh-huh, Bonita,
I’m alive.
Wait for me.”  He raises his arms high, tossing huge kisses to the sky.  “God, thank you, thank you, thank you!”

He tumbles on a huge pile of seaweeds.  “Fuck!”  He kicks hard, cursing.  After a few moments, he feels some itchiness comes back.
Heck, what the fuck is going on?

He sits down on the seaweed pile and raises his hand.
Wait.
He stops his hand mid-air because he doesn’t want his scratches to produce more itches.  Thinking for a few moments, he picks up some seaweed to scratch his leg.  Oddly, anywhere it touches, the itchiness disappears right away.

Amazing!  So fucking amazing!

He looks at the weeds with great care.  They are pretty thin.  The edges are rough.   It’s the kind no one wants to eat.
But hey, this is the magic cure for the deadly Komodo Cipta poison!

He sits down, grabs a huge pile of the magic weed, and scratches his leg hard.  His rough face is occupied by a huge, huge grin.

He stands up.  But his leg feels like a piece of wood, being absolutely out of control.  He drops down to the mud.   “Fuck!”  He has no idea how long it takes him to recover.

Maybe a couple of weeks?  But can Bonita wait for that long?
He looks at the sky, shaking his head.

“Elowen, come n’ catch me.”  A young man is running on the beach.

“Dagon, wait for me…” A girl is calling from behind, not far away.

“Watch out, there are monsters!”

“Dagon, that’s
not
a good joke.” The girl stops running.  She bends down, gasping hard.

“Ouch, a ghost!”

“Dagon, you don’t scare me a bit.”  Elowen stands up and runs to Dagon.   “Aaaah… Ghost!” She runs back and then tumbles to the ground.

A huge arm is holding Dagon.  The dim moonlight reveals a frightening, monstrous frame but nothing else.

“Oh, no, ghost, ghost…” Dagon struggles.

“Dagon, you think I am a ghost?”  With a tiny push, the arm sends Dagon tumbling down to the ground, butt first.

“Mr…” Dagon stands up, rubbing his butt.

“Zaak.”

“Mr. V’Sevolid, it’s you.”  Dagon bends down.  He was one of the servants for Zaak’s honeymoon suite and he was grateful for the generous tips left in their room each day.

“Yes, It’s me.  Sorry for disturbing you.”  Zaak smiles.

“Oh, no, that’s totally okay.   Um… I guess you need help, huh?”

“Sure I do.  Can you please do one thing for me?”

“Anything, Mr. V’Sevolid.”

“Okay…”

The whole Hibvuurorian tribe is ready to go now.   Bonita still can’t make up her mind whether she should go with the tribe people.  She knows that they will do everything to protect her.  On the other hand, she doesn’t want the whole tribe to get in trouble only for her.

“Look, Bonita, you can’t trust those brutal liars.  If you give yourself up, they will still come to get us.”  Thornken turns to his people and yells, “Move. Now!”  Then he turns back.   “Bonita?”

Bonita bites her lips, thinking hard.  “Okay, I’ll go.  And I’ll fight with you.”

“Look, they’re coming!” Savior points at the bottom of the ice hill.   A small group of people are moving fast this way.  “Get ready.”  He gives order.  A group of young men move closer to a huge pile of ice blocks.

Then they hear whistling.   Long and sharp.   Savior whistles back.   The whistle comes again, in a different tone.

“Friends.  They’re friends.”  Savor runs down.  Soon he runs back, gasping, “Bonita, I want, want you to… to see…”

Bonita looks.  There she sees her husband, limping, “Bonita!” Zaak waves his hands.   “Bonita!  Ha-ha!  Bonita!”

“Zaak, Zaak, you’re alive!”  She tumbles down, almost knocks Zaak to the ground.

They kiss.

After a long time, Bonita breaks the kiss and looks at Zaak, “Zaak, where have you been?”  Then she shakes her head, wiping her tears, “Silly question, huh?”

The happy gathering doesn’t last long.  After Zaak introduces the hotel people to the tribe people and thank them for all their help, he looks at them with no smile.   “I made a huge mistake and now I’m going to correct it.   Yes, those filthy Canivuurorians are coming.  But they are coming for
death
.”

His plan is simple: Go get the army to give the bad guys a deadly blow, once and for all.

But how to get in touch with the army?  Everyone wants to know—and fast, because now they see the Canivuurorians hop on the ice cap real fast.

Chapter Ten

“Here’s what we are going to do.”  Zaak looks around.   “You all retreat to the valley and block the entry.”

“All?  How about you?” Quite a few voices ask the same question.

“I’ll stay and get in touch with my troops.”

“How?”

“I saw my family spaceship wreckage down there.”  He points to a small snow pile not far away down the hill.   “So, I’m going to radio them from there.”

“Are you sure that the equipment is going to work?” Bonita is so worried.

Zaak thinks for a moment or two and then shakes his head slowly, “No.”

“Zaak, I don’t want you to take the risk.”

“But this is the only option.”

“We can take the equipment to the valley and try from there, right?”

“We’re running out of time, Bonita.  See there.”  Bonita takes a look and then covers her mouth with both hands, her eyes widening.

“General, please come with us.  We will wait ‘til they leave.  Then you can call your troops.”  Thornken’s voice is low and rushing.

“What if they don’t leave?  And I don’t think they will.”  Zaak holds Thornken’s hand.   “Thank you, Chief, for everything you did for us.   It’s now the time for me to resume my duty and protect the tribe.  Trust me, I can do it.”

“What if the equipment doesn’t work, Zaak?”  Bonita almost cries.

“Bonita, I’m a soldier and I can’t let the enemy hurt peaceful people.   Please leave now.”  He gives her a big kiss and then smiles to everyone.  “Bye for now.  We will meet again.”  He turns to walk towards the wreckage.  Soon, he sits to slides all the way down.

Zaak stands up, looking at the snow-covered wreckage.

Savior appears from behind Zaak, swinging his huge arms to push the snow away.   “Savior, why the heck are you here?”  Zaak stares at him.

“I’m a soldier of the tribe.”

Before Zaak can say anything, he sees Bonita push the snow away, too.

He shakes his head.

Soon, they force the door open and get rid of all the snow from inside.  They step in and lock the door from inside right away.

Now the Canivuurorians are closing in.  They had heard of the rumblings of rebellion and Zak’s escape, great tales that had passed through the town at lightning speed.

Zaak presses the power switch on the control panel.  A few green lights show.

“Is it working?” Bonita is so eager to know.

“The battery is working at least.”  Zaak’s hands are busy turning switches and pushing buttons.   After a while, he pushes a button and says clearly, “M35, M35.  This is DQ302.  Can you hear me?  Over.”

Everyone holds their breath and listens.  There is no response.   Zaak tries twice more and then gives up.  He rests his chin on his fist and his elbow on his lap.

“Shit!”  He stops for a short moment and then adds, “Fuck!”

“What happened, Zaak?” Bonita holds his hand.

He opens his mouth, looking at Bonita.  His face turns all red.

“Zaak, please talk.  Would you please?”  Bonita can hear the heavy steps of the bad guys now.

“I’m… so sorry, Bonita.  I forgot one thing.”

“What?  What’s that?”

“Fuck!” Savior kicks hard, leaving two broken claw fingers on the floor and a bloody arm withdrawing from the crack on the top of the hull.

“Oh, Fuck!  Zaak, you’re dead meat, I swear! Fuck!  Ouch, FUCK!”  Lar DeVito is howling outside.

Zaak turns to look at the crack and then turns back slowly.   “I made a mistake, Bonita.” He swallows hard and then continues, “I forgot that the radio frequency we’re using is not for the military communication.  My army won’t pick up the signal.”

“Is that… true?” Bonita murmurs.  Her body turns cold.  Deadly cold.

Savior is kicking again, swearing louder.  He knows that he is going to die today so he wants to bring as many enemies as he can with him.

The bad guys change their strategy.  They bang on the hull, trying to break it.

“I’m sorry, Bonita.”  Zaak gives her a kiss.  Then he turns to Savior.  “I’m sorry, Savior.”

“ Don’t apologize, General!” He kicks hard again.  “See, you give me this great opportunity to fight like a soldier.” He grins, enemy blood dripping down from his face.

“DQ302, DQ302.  This is M35.  The assault is ready. Please stand by.  Over.”

Zaak’s eyes bulge like ping-pong balls.  “Oh, boy, we’re saved!”

“How long does it take them to arrive?” Bonita’s finger nails cut deep into Zaak’s skin.

“Hmmm…” He thinks hard and then murmurs, “Maybe two hours?  Or three?”

“Zaak, you’re dead, ha-ha…”  Lar DeVito is screaming.   Bonita is shocked to see a few holes appear quickly on the hull all over.  She knows that it takes only a few more minutes for those bad guys to destroy the hull completely.

“We’re doomed.” Zaak looks at the holes with a small smile, his face all pale.   “I’m a soldier.  I’m not scared of death.  But Bonita… I’m so sorry that I brought you here…” Bonita covers his mouth right away.   “Zaak, I’m so happy that we’re together again, and we’re going to be together
forever
.”  She rests her head on Zaak’s broad chest.  After a short while, she raises her head, “Kiss me, Zaak.”

Zaak looks into her eyes.  He sees no fear.  Her eyes are so soft, full of love.   He inches his lips down.  “Love you, Bonita.”

“Love you, Zaak.”

Their lips are about to meet.  Then their bodies are tossed into the air with Bonita screaming.

The ground is rumbling.   Missile and rocket fires are shooting at the bad guys.   They run around, trying to hide.  But out of the water, they are just sitting ducks.

“Good job, General, good job!”  Savior yells with a big smile.

Zaak squeezes out a tiny smile. “Thank you.”
What the fuck is going on?  Isn’t the troop a bit too fast?
