“I’m dating two men.”

“And they know this?”

“It’s a threesome deal.”

Elias rubbed a hand over his face and she knew she’d thrown
him for a pretty big loop. “I see. I have to admit, Jordan, I’m surprised to
hear this. Personally, Stephanie would have gotten my vote as the Books and
Brew woman most likely to go for a ménage. No offense, of course.”

“None taken. She would have gotten my vote too.”

“So I guess we’re back to figuring out why you’re blue. Your
men are happy with the arrangement?”

Jordan nodded. “Yes. They proposed it.”

“And you’re happy?”

“Over-the-moon ecstatic. I’ve never been happier in my life,
Elias.”

“Then what’s the problem?”

Jordan frowned. “Didn’t you hear me? I’m in a committed
threesome. Don’t you think that’s a bit out there? I mean, what will people say
when they figure it out?”

“I assume if they care about you, they’ll ask the same
questions I just did and then be happy for you.”

He was right. Her friends had made sure she was comfortable
with the relationship and then they’d thrown their full support behind her.
“What about the ones who
don’t
care about me?”

“Do they matter that much?”

Her heart said no, but her head couldn’t let go of its damn
practicality. “Gabriel’s an important businessman. What if the unorthodox
nature of his personal life came out? It could cost him money or deals or
something like that.”

“I think Gabriel knows his business well enough to deal with
that should it occur.”

“Yeah. I guess. But there are people who care about us who
still might not get this. There’s Casey’s father. I know he’s worried about how
his dad will respond. What if his dad flips out and disowns him? They were
really tight growing up. I think it would kill Casey to lose him. And I haven’t
even mentioned my parents. Holy crap. They’ll freak out big-time. My dad owns
guns, you know. There’s a very real chance he’ll try to kill Gabe and Casey for
corrupting his little girl.”

Elias laughed, though Jordan didn’t mean her words as a
joke. Finally, he said, “Those are all very valid, very real concerns. So it
does come down to a choice after all. Either Gabriel and Casey are worth the
fuss—the father’s fury, the mother’s tears, the covert, disapproving glances
from strangers—or they aren’t. Which is it, Jordan?”

She was silent for a moment. Not because she didn’t have her
answer. She did. It was just a hard one to speak aloud.

“It would be nice if happiness was always easy, but
sometimes there is a cost,” Elias continued. “Are you willing to pay the toll?”

She nodded. “Yeah. I am. I’ve just never been particularly
bold like Steph. I’m very uncomfortable with people looking at me, with being
in the limelight for any reason. This doesn’t come natural to me.”

“There’s a famous quote I think of often when facing a
difficult task. ‘That which does not kill us makes us stronger.’ You’re
stronger than you know, Jordan.”

His compliment warmed her heart. She took a deep breath and
let the words become the truth. Jordan stood, feeling at least a ton lighter
than she had when she sat down. Bending forward, she placed a kiss on Elias’
cheek. “Thanks for the advice and for understanding. That drink’s on the
house.”

She walked back to the bar smiling.

She’d be strong. She’d be bold.

She’d be happy.

Chapter Nine

Casey watched as Gabriel led Jordan up the stairs and down
the hallway to her new office. They’d blindfolded her so they could surprise
her.

Casey had kicked her out of her office over a week ago,
setting up a temporary one downstairs. He’d forbidden her to step foot on the
stairs since then.

From the expression on Gabriel’s face, his friend was still
reeling from last night’s unhappy ending. They’d fucked up. Pushed Jordan too
far, too fast. They’d spent half the morning on the phone trying to figure out
how to make amends with her. The only option they could see was to promise not
to instigate any more public displays until she was more comfortable.

They’d been idiots to kiss her like that in the restaurant.
Jordan wasn’t happy being in the public eye. She preferred to keep her private
life private.

“Can I look yet?” she asked.

Gabriel led her over the threshold and into the room. “We’re
almost there.” He looked at Casey. “Ready?” he mouthed.

Casey nodded. The room still smelled strongly of fresh
paint, but only time would take care of that. Otherwise, her office was
perfect.

Gabriel pulled off the blindfold—and Jordan burst into
laughter.

Casey smiled, delighted by her response.

“Oh my God. You’re insane.” She turned, taking in his
compromise on the paint color. “Stripes?”

“You gotta admit it looks pretty good.” He’d alternated
between thick strips of Jordan’s boring white and his deep green. The effect
had turned out better than he’d expected.

“It looks awesome.”

While Casey had taken charge of the renovations, Gabriel had
supplied the furnishings. Jordan’s eyes widened when she spotted the new desk.

“A real desk? It’s huge.”

Gabriel had been only too happy to take her last makeshift
desk to the dump, declaring an old card table did not make for a proper
workspace. He’d replaced her tiny netbook with the largest laptop Casey had
ever seen.

Jordan reverently ran her fingers over the new technology.
“It’s too much.”

Gabriel rolled his eyes. “Dear God, woman. How many times do
I have to tell you? I’m rich.”

She narrowed her eyes, though her smile wouldn’t be
contained. “The operative word in that statement is
you
are rich. I’m a
bookkeeper on a tight budget. I don’t expect or want you to spend so much money
on me.”

Gabriel shrugged. “There’s no way you’ll convince me to stop
giving you gifts, so you may as well save your breath.”

Jordan looked as if she wanted to argue the point, but Casey
was too anxious to set other things straight. “Listen, Jordan. I want to talk
about last night.”

She nodded. “I think we should.”

“Baby, we know you’re nervous about revealing the truth of
our relationship. We’re breaking so many social norms, it’s not even funny. We
were wrong—”

“No, no,” Jordan interrupted him. “Please don’t. There was
only one person who was wrong last night and that was me.”

Gabriel wrapped her up in his arms. “No way, Jordy. We were
pressuring you. Pushing you before you were ready.”

She reached up and touched Gabriel’s face. Casey marveled at
how much the image moved him. “I’m ready now.”

Casey crossed his arms, concerned she was giving in because
she wanted to make them happy. “Jordan, you can’t force this.”

She turned, reaching for his hand. The three of them had
lost all sense of boundaries. Though he felt no sexual attraction toward
Gabriel, he had no problem sharing personal space with him. It was an odd
sensation, but one he wasn’t compelled to question or fight.

“I want to scream to the world about us. I love you. Both of
you. So, so much.”

Casey felt her words like a punch in the stomach. She
knocked the breath out of him with her declaration. Hot damn. She loved them.

He reached for her before Gabriel could pull her back to
him—though it was a close contest. Picking her up, he swung her around as she
squealed.

“Hell yeah,” he said. “I love you too, baby.”

Gabriel tapped him on the shoulder midswing. “Stop hogging
her.”

Casey released her, laughing when Gabriel followed suit,
spinning her around and kissing her.

“I was going to suggest a quiet dinner back at my place, but
I don’t think I can wait that long, Jordy.”

Casey quickly caught Gabriel’s meaning. He walked over and
locked the office door. “I can’t either. Besides, I think we need to christen
this new office.”

Jordan leaned against the desk, her hand on her forehead.
They’d obviously made her dizzy with their antics. “You smash a bottle of
champagne against my pretty new walls and there will be a problem.”

“Actually,” Gabriel reached for the hem of her t-shirt,
pulling it over her head in one quick swoop, “I think Casey has something else
in mind.”

“Oooh, you meant a sexual christening. I’m in,” Jordan
joked.

“Goddamn, I love you,” Gabriel said. His shirt followed
Jordan’s to the floor and, before Casey could even consider joining them,
Gabe’s pants were off as well.

“In a hurry?” Casey asked.

“In case you forgot, I went cold turkey last night. Brutal.”

“Aw,” Jordan cooed, wrapping her arms around his waist.
“Poor baby.”

Gabriel looked at Casey as if to say, “What are you waiting
for?” and then kissed Jordan lightly on the forehead. “Did I mention that I
stocked your desk for you?”

Jordan tilted her head until Gabriel went on to explain. “I
don’t think any office is truly complete without a wide array of sex toys.”

“Get them,” she commanded. While Gabriel rummaged through
the drawer, Jordan came over and peeled off Casey’s clothes.

He nearly came when she leaned closer and whispered in his
ear, “I’m not wearing panties under my skirt.”

“My girl.” He kissed her cheek and slowly lifted the
material to show Gabriel her naughty secret.

“Oh shit, Jordy. I’m glad I didn’t know that earlier or we
wouldn’t have made it up the stairs.”

She looked over her shoulder at Gabriel and flashed him a
sexy smile. “What did you find in that drawer?”

Gabriel hesitated long enough that both of them turned to
face him.

“Gabe?” Casey asked.

Gabriel lifted a tube of lube and two condoms. “I was
thinking maybe we could save the toys for later and try something a little
different.”

He and Gabriel had discussed their desire to take her at the
same time, but they hadn’t wanted to frighten or hurt Jordan. It looked like
his friend had found his courage.

“Jordan—” Casey felt he should explain, but she cut him off.

“I know what you want. I want it too.”

Casey wanted to confirm, to make sure she really knew, but
Jordan moved away from him and bent forward over her desk, providing him with a
bird’s-eye view of her ass.

Glancing over her shoulder, she caught his gaze. “But I’ll
only do it on one condition.”

“Anything,” Casey whispered.

Jordan turned her attention back to Gabriel. “You put the
condoms back in the drawer. It’s time we took this to the next level.”

Casey stepped closer, ran his hands over the smooth skin of
her ass. “We don’t want to hurt you, baby.”

“I trust you. I know you won’t.”

Gabriel handed Casey the lube. Jordan grabbed Gabriel’s
waist, edging him closer. The desk was long, but it was narrow enough that
Jordan could reach Gabriel while lying across the surface.

Gabriel released a long groan when she grasped his cock,
pulling him close enough to take him into her mouth. While Jordan sucked
Gabriel to oblivion, Casey opened the lube and let himself play.

Neither he nor Gabriel had breached her ass—not with a cock
or a finger—though they’d both wanted to. Casey squirted a generous dollop of
lube on her anus, smearing it around. The action reminded him of his art and he
enjoyed the sensation of playing with Jordan’s flesh, of drawing out her little
gasps, of instigating her needy groans.

He worked the lubrication in slowly, first with one finger,
then with two. He’d taken Jordan enough times to know how to read her body’s
signals. He could tell when something brought her pleasure or when something
hurt.

So far it was all systems go.

Gabriel stroked Jordan’s hair and his fingers tightened.
“You getting close, bro? As much as I love her sweet mouth on me, I don’t want
this celebration to end before it starts.”

Casey ran his free hand along Jordan’s spine, enjoying her
shiver of delight. “Almost.” He added a third finger to the two in her ass.

Jordan released Gabriel, her hands slapping the surface of
the desk, gripping the edges.

“Does that hurt?” Casey asked.

“A little. But I don’t want to stop. I want this, want you
both so badly.”

Gabriel gave him an encouraging nod before kneeling in front
of Jordan. He leaned closer until he was able to distract her with long, slow
kisses. Casey added more lube to her ass, working the three fingers in to the
hilt, stretching her, preparing her for what came next.

Casey looked around the room when he sensed she was ready.
Damn Gabriel for his impatience. They should have saved this for home…and a
bed. Luckily he’d placed a large, plush rug on the floor, thinking it would
keep the room warmer during the winter months.

Gabriel broke the kiss and glanced up. Casey nodded and
gently extracted his fingers.

Casey walked to the rug and lay on his back. Gabriel gave
him a guilty look when he realized the unfortunate setting for his suggestion.
Casey shrugged. No way in hell was he turning back now.

Gabriel helped Jordan stand and Casey noticed she was
unsteady on her feet. He started to rise, call a halt, but Jordan had other
plans.

She straddled his waist, pressing him back down with a hard
kiss. “Too late,” she said. “You’re all mine.”

He’d never complain about that. Slowly, Jordan moved down
his body until his cock was poised at the entrance to her pussy. He’d never
ridden bareback before. Something told him this was going to be a quick trip.
He was too horny, too ready.

She took him in easily, the juices from her body proving exactly
how much she wanted him. This.

Once he was fully seated, she looked over her shoulder at
Gabriel, who still stood by the desk. “Come here.”

Her voice was husky, sexy as hell. Gabriel responded without
a moment’s hesitation. Kneeling, he straddled Casey’s legs while lightly
pressing Jordan forward.

She let Gabriel direct her, coming forward and kissing Casey
once more.

“You’re incredible,” Casey whispered.

She smiled at his compliment. “I was going to say the same
thing about you. I love my office. Thank you.”

He chuckled until Gabriel’s fingers accidentally grazed his
balls. “Fuck, man. Careful where you touch. I’m barely hanging in there as it
is.”

Gabriel placed one hand on the floor by Casey’s left side.
He used the other to guide his lubed cock to Jordan’s ass. Neither Casey nor
Jordan moved as Gabriel slowly pushed the head inside.

“You okay, Jordy?”

Her cheeks were red, her breathing coming out in quiet
pants. “So okay,” she gasped.

Casey studied her face. She spoke the truth. She was
completely into this. He gave a short, quick nod to Gabriel, encouraging him to
go on.

Gabriel pressed in deeper and it was Casey’s turn to gasp.
Holy fuck. He hadn’t expected to feel so much. Every move Gabriel made sent
more blood to his already full-to-bursting cock.

“You’re so tight, Jordy. Jesus. I’ve never felt anything so
good.” Gabriel placed several kisses on her shoulder, the side of her neck.

Jordan’s eyes were closed and Casey couldn’t describe her
face as anything less than completely blissful.

Gabriel completed his journey, then caught Casey’s gaze.
“Ready?”

Casey nodded. He slowly pulled out, returning with care as
Gabriel moved in tandem.

Jordan’s quiet moans and pleas urged them on. “God. Yes.
Please.”

Casey wondered if she knew what she was asking for. Her
fingers dug into his shoulders, her nails leaving gouges he suspected would
hurt tomorrow. He didn’t care. He wanted to be marked by her.

After several more thrusts, Gabriel froze, breathing
heavily. “I can’t hold off. This is too good.”

Jordan didn’t lift her head. “Practice makes perfect.”

Gabriel chuckled. Pulling out one last time, he thrust in
harder, faster than before and gave up the battle. “God. Yes. So fucking good.
I love you, Jordy. Love you.”

Gabriel’s release triggered Casey’s. He threw his head back,
hitting it hard enough against the floor to see stars, but it didn’t matter. He
was already lost amid the flashing lights of his climax. His balls constricted
as he let pulse after pulse of come fill Jordan. He was leaving a physical mark
of his own.

Fortunately, Gabriel had recovered enough to regroup. He
reached around Jordan and pressed on her clit. They’d learned the first night
how to make sure she was never left behind.

Jordan cried out, her body trembling. Casey wrapped his arms
around her, held her tightly as she gave in to her own needs, her own
happiness.

Casey closed his eyes, a grin covering his face. “Best.
Night. Ever.”

Gabriel chuckled as he collapsed beside them.

“You can say that again.” Jordan lay with her head on
Casey’s chest. He’d expected to hear utter exhaustion in her voice. But as
always, she surprised him, answering with energy, enthusiasm.

“I should have considered how eventually we’d all end up on
the floor, and found some clever way of concealing a mattress in here,” Casey
said.

Jordan lifted her head. “Hey. What’s that? Under the drop
cloth.”

Casey followed her gaze and realized they’d forgotten to
show her their last gift. He lifted her gently as he sat. Gabriel rose as well
and took her hand, leading her to the statue Casey had tucked in the corner.
From her desk, Jordan would see it perfectly, but if anyone came in to conduct
business, the piece of art would be behind them.
