Secret For Vinhelm - The Prequel: A Rock Star Romance (2 page)

It was the only time she became aware that she too had a smile on her face.

“Hi.” His voice was filled with sweetness and gentleness.

How can a man as handsome, as hot and as sexy as him possess such sweet voice? Isn’t that unfair? He’s hot so his voice should be sexy… right? That’s how it should be… right? He’s definitely a very selfish man when it comes to traits. He took everything. He should at least save something for the other men in the world. A man shouldn’t be this selfish, this goddamn perfect. Wait a minute! Why am I even thinking about this? And why the hell is he sitting in front of me and talking to me?
Her eyes went wide and she saw him laughed.

She removed her earphones to argue with him but she found herself staring instead. What the hell was wrong with her?

She just fell in love… with his eyes.

Those eyes that she couldn’t find the words to describe how beautiful it was. It looked like they screamed for her attention but it wasn’t. She was just
that
drawn to it.

It took her a few seconds to realize what he was doing.

Why is he laughing
?

“I can tell what you’re thinking just by looking in your eyes. They’re very expressive.” His voice bothered her. It was gentle. Too gentle.

“Wait. I know this is weird.” She had forgotten her next words when she saw him smiled. He looked like he assured her that he didn’t think she was.

She continued, “Am I dreaming? And if I’m not, who are you?”

She wanted to take it back and kill herself for saying those words after she realized how rude she sounded. She was about to take it back but she didn’t have to. Not when the man didn’t even frown nor showed any signs of disappointment.

He was smiling.

“I assure you, you’re definitely not dreaming.”

He leaned closer and used his right hand to touch the few strands of hair in her eyes and pushed it towards the back of her ear. The millisecond touch of their skins shot a volt of lighting to her whole system.

Now, she was sure as hell this wasn’t a dream.

“I’m Vhynce and you are?” He asked politely but inside him he was confused with his own words.

He never used Vhynce whenever he introduced himself especially to strangers. He may not be sure where it came from but maybe… just maybe it was that small part of him who was curious about the girl. The small part of him who felt that she wasn’t just anyone.

“Meahri.”

She started to feel comfortable. It was weird. She was never good with people, most especially with strangers, but here she was, talking to a complete stranger and she even enjoyed it.

She may not know why but she had a feeling it was because of his gentle voice, his beautiful eyes and his straight-through-the-heart smile that she couldn’t resist. They gave her that rush of feelings inside her.

“Hi Meahri. It’s nice meeting you. By the way, are you with someone?” He asked.

Should she be concerned that the stranger just asked her if she’s alone or not?

“Not really.” She heard herself answered.

“So I can sit with you and have a little chat?”

He removed his cap and used his other hand to fix his hair. The sight made her gasped. She didn’t mean to. It just happened.

He was indeed an angel. He wasn’t simply gorgeous, hot and sexy, he was beyond perfection. She didn’t know she was staring at him again until he heard him call her name.

“S-Sure.” She stuttered.

She wanted to disappear like thin air that instant. She had never felt that way before, more even for a stranger. Well, he was a goddamn gorgeous stranger if she had forgotten.

“So are you a student?” He asked comfortably. He sounded like she was someone he knew for a long time.

“Yeah. I’m in my sophomore year now.”

She was about to ask him the same thing but he beat her to it.

“What course are you taking?” His eyes were glued to her.

“I’m taking arts. How about you? Are you also a student?”

She didn’t have any idea if he was and if he was, she should be reminded to transfer to his university the moment they finished this talk. It looked like he was surprised with her question. She didn’t know why.

Was she wrong to ask something that simple? Or was it too personal?

She waited for him to answer but he didn’t. He just looked at her, full attention on her. She wanted to disappear whenever he looked at her that way… that as if he could see right through her.

He made her feel naked, the way that she couldn’t hide
anything
from him.

Never in her entire life did she experience something like it. A very gorgeous man – she meant angel – whose full attention was on her. Hers only.

Suddenly, she felt insecure about herself. He was an angel and she was just a below average girl who spent all her time either at their house or the university. Well, Cafégroundz included. She didn’t even deserve to be in the same table as him.

When her insecurity ate her, she looked away and started to look around. That was when she realized that there were a lot of people and all eyes were on them. She wasn’t surprised that people were looking at them.

After all, she was sitting with a
very
gorgeous man who wasn’t really a human being but instead, an angel. He was
too beautiful
to be a human. At least that’s what he was for her.

How long had she been sleeping? If she ever did.

She didn’t have any idea when and where the people came from. It seemed like she and Vhynce was in their own world that she didn’t notice them at all. Not even the noise that they made.

Someone caught her attention.

There was a big guy in black who stood in the hallway. His body was big enough to qualify as a bouncer. She only half confirmed it when she saw him stopped the girls behind him. They seemed like they wanted to go near someone or something but they can’t.

It was only then she remembered that she was at the most end of the café. There was no way that they were waiting for the toilet since the toilet was located on the other side of the café. It wasn’t also possible that they would be that excited over a toilet. Most of all, there was no freaking way that the girls giggled over her. Then it hit her.

It was Vhynce.

She wasn’t sure who he was or what was happening but one thing she was sure of. There was something that she didn’t know and she needed to find out what it was. The sooner the better.

“Don’t look at them. Think as if they’re not here.”

She heard him say. Her attention went back to him and he looked at her straight in her eyes.

“Who are you really?” She heard herself ask.

“Do you mind me sitting beside you?” Instead of an answer, he asked her back.

He should really stop answering my questions with another question. Even kindergarten kids know that.
She wanted to argue with him but she found herself nodding. Since when did her body and mind didn’t agree about the same thing? Never.

Only now.

The next second, he was seated beside her. Her backpack was already on the seat he took a while ago. She didn’t know how he did it but he moved too fast and it was flawless. The table didn’t even moved.

“So who are you really?”

This time she wouldn’t stop until he told her the truth.

He leaned closer to her and whispered, “I’m Vhyncent Vinhelm. I’m actually not a student. I’m just a normal guy who have a passion for music.” He moved his face away from her, enough for her to see his face. She looked confused and he felt sorry that he made her feel that way.

He wanted to tell her who he was but part of him didn’t want to. He wanted to remain a mystery to the girl. He wanted her to be curious about him.

“You’re a singer?” She asked in confusion and disbelief.

“Yeah I am… But right now, I don’t want to be. Right now, I just want to spend time with you.” She shouldn’t believe him but how can she not when his eyes told her that it was the truth… that there was not a trace of lie in his words.

Before she can even find the words to say, he beat her to it.

“I wish we had more time.” He stopped and looked at the guy in black who she officially confirmed a bouncer. He moved away and gave way to another guy who had a bouquet of flowers and a small box. The same guy gave it to Vhynce and he turned to her.

“It was just a very short time but I enjoyed it.”

He gave her the bouquet and the small box that she thought was a cake especially after she saw the name that was printed on the box.

At first she was hesitant to take it. Everything was happening too fast.

Just a second ago, she was in her own world as she waited for Max to bring her favorite drink then the next second, she received a very beautiful – she was goddamn sure it was expensive too – bouquet and a small box of cake from a stranger, a goddamn gorgeous stranger, an angel stranger. If any of those even made any sense.

“I hope that even for just a short time, I was able to make you happy this Valentine’s Day. Happy Valentine’s Meahri!”

It was only after his words that she accepted the gifts. She looked at him with eyes that he found fascinating. It was filled with innocence and disbelief. He knew she was in the verge of tears and he didn’t want to witness that.

“Can you give me a hug?”

He didn’t know where it came from but obviously it came from his mouth. He never asked anyone to hug him especially a girl. He didn’t know why but one thing he knew, there was something in the girl that he found fascinating.

When he saw her put his gifts on the table, he panicked. Was he going to be rejected? He was about to say something when he felt her arms around his waist. He felt relieved. Just when he thought he was going to be rejected, he found himself enjoying the hug. Not to mention, it was from a girl he just met. He barely even knew her.

At first he thought she pretended not to know him but after everything, he realized that she wasn’t. What she said was indeed the truth.

She really didn’t know him at all. She didn’t have a single idea who he was. It should’ve made him angry but it was the opposite. He was happy that she didn’t know who he was.

“I’m sorry I didn’t know who you are but thank you. You made my day. This is the best Valentine’s Day I ever had. I won’t forget this.” She confessed and a smile formed on her face.

“You don’t need to apologize. Truth is, I’m happy that you didn’t know who I was and I should be the one thanking you. Things like this
never
happen to me. This is a first and I’m happy to have shared it with you, Meahri.” He admitted and reluctantly let go of her. She too was reluctant to let go.

A second ago, he was a complete stranger to her and now, she felt attached to him. What the hell was going on with her? Had she gone insane?

He stood up and was about to leave but he stopped when he remembered something. He sat down again and whispered, “Can we take a photo together?”

Where the fuck did that came from?
He cursed in his head. It was
so
not like him. He was fucking Vhyncent Vinhelm. Other people are the ones who always ask for a photo with him. They would even kill each other just to be near him. So why is it with this girl, a girl he only knew for a few minutes, everything seemed to have turned?

“How did you know I wanted to ask that?” She blushed.
