Secret For Vinhelm - The Prequel: A Rock Star Romance (4 page)

“Are you going to upload your photos tonight?” The same girl asked and giggled.

“I’m not sure but I’ll try to upload some tonight.” Meahri can’t help but smile.

Things like this are not new to her anymore but it never failed to make her feel touched and happy. She was an unknown girl in her school life and now, she was known in this crazy world they call fanworld.

“I’m pretty sure your shots would be all over the fan sites again.” The same girl assured.

“Thanks.”

All Meahri could do was smile. She didn’t know the girl, not even her name. Before she could ask her, the MC went up to the stage and informed everyone that the birthday boy has arrived.

As soon as they heard that, it seemed like everyone forgot about dinner and focused their full attention on the stage.

Vhynce came out from the backstage. That exact moment, everyone screamed their hearts out.

There were only a hundred fans and yet it sounded like there were thousands of fans present at the venue. The screams were dangerous for a human being’s eardrum. Thankfully, Meahri was used to such screams by now.

After she attended a lot of events, she kind of got used to Vhynce’s effect on people.

He wore a white leather jacket with a plain black shirt underneath, a pair of black jeans and a pair of Jordan 11 Legend Blue. It looked simple and yet he pulled it off like the outfit cost millions.

“Heeeey!”

Only one word was said and yet the fans screamed like there was no tomorrow. Believe it or not, that was how much effect he has on his fans. He was that famous, that big.

“Is everyone having a great time?” He asked.

All the fans screamed at the same time.

“That’s too bad. Since everyone is already having a great time, I should probably leave now.” He sounded disappointed.

Different reactions came from the fans but it was too obvious that they were already dying before the birthday party officially started.

You’re such a flirt and yet I love you.
She smiled at her own thoughts.

She was never a fangirl and yet here she was at a rockstar’s birthday party. Not to mention, she paid a huge amount of money to get a ticket for this party. He was so goddamn expensive to love. She would kill him if she had the chance. He made her crazy.

“I assure each one of you in this room that we’ll have a great time!” He flashed his smile that never failed to catch every girl’s heart.

Just like that, the party started.

Vhynce started with some of his famous songs followed by a few games and the never-ending question and answer portion.

After the Q&A, a video played on the screen as he left the stage.

While the video was being played, one by one, the fans were called.

Seems like it’s that time already.
She was excited but at the same time, she also panicked. She enjoyed the video since it was footages that were never released to the public. Some were NGs from his shows and music videos, some where behind the stage before his concerts, and some were taken while he was at home.

She could’ve continued enjoying the video but she can’t. Just the thought of being alone with him was enough for her to go insane. She wanted to focus on the video but she ended up counting how long each fan had with him.

Based on her observation, they spent at least a minute inside the room. It was a rough estimate since some were only inside for a few seconds some were in for more than a minute.

While she was busy thinking what to say and do when it was already her turn, one of the staff tapped her shoulder. Guess it was her turn.

She stood up and left her seat. She was asked by the staff to wait outside the room.

A few seconds later, the door was opened by a fan who was in the verge of tears. She wasn’t surprised at all. She had seen fans that didn’t only cried but bawled like a kid after they saw Vhynce up close.

“Hi” was the first word that she heard when she got to the door.

She hasn’t even entered the room and yet he already greeted her. Ryan, his manager, told her to come in so she did.

When she heard the door behind her closed, she wanted to run. All of a sudden, she felt like she was claustrophobic. She panicked.

No matter how many times she met him, she never got used to how gorgeous he was. She wished she was used to it but it seemed like, for her, that time will never come. At least not when Vhynce was involved. There was never a time that she met him that she wasn’t starstrucked.

“What’s your name?” He asked.

It was his normal voice but for her ears, it sounded too sweet and too sexy at the same time.

“Uh… S-Secret.” She stuttered.

“I should at least know your name, right?” He smiled.

“Uh… It’s Secret.”

She was a little bit relaxed now than she was when she entered the room.

“Seems like you don’t want to tell me your name. That’s fine. Come here, you shouldn’t keep on standing there.” He patted the couch where he was seated.

“No Vhynce. My name
is
Secret.”

She walked towards him and it took him one long second before he burst into laughter.

“Is Secret really your name?” He was still laughing when he asked her.

“Yeah.” At least that’s what I’m known for in the fanworld. She wanted to add those words but decided not to. She knew that it’s best for him especially for her to not say her real name.

“Sorry, I didn’t get it at first. I thought you were telling me that your name was a secret. Didn’t thought Secret was actually your name.” He sounded like he too was weirded out by his own words.

“Nah. That’s fine. It wasn’t a first. A lot of people had the same reaction too.” She shared.

“Well, it is an unusual name.”

He saw the disappointment on the girl’s face. He wanted to take it back.

“Interesting too.” He added and saw her smile.

You really know the right words to use, don’t you?
She thought as she stared at him.

“Yeah I do.” He flashed a grin.

She was about to say something but the staff that was about to take the picture called their attention. He asked them to sit closer but she didn’t want to move. She was too scared that if she did, she’d end up being
too
close to him and Ryan might kill her. She didn’t move but he did. He put his arm around her shoulder and she was stilled as statue.

While the staff did the count, she wanted to curse. She didn’t know what to do and she was sure as hell that their photo wouldn’t turn out good especially with the state she was in.

Looked like Vhynce felt it too that she heard him say “Relax” as he used his thumb to rub her shoulder. Such gesture can only get one reaction and that was perfect happiness.

Next thing she knew the staff handed her the photo and she took it. She stared at it and wanted to die from embarrassment.

On her side, Vhynce looked at it secretly. A smile formed on his face. She wasn’t happy. She was
so
happy and embarrassed at the same time. It wasn’t the best kind of smile but it was a smile that he found fascinating.

“Thanks for coming to my party.”

He broke the silence when he saw Ryan.

“Oh, I almost forgot!” She stopped and took something from her bag. “Happy Birthday Vhynce!” She handed him a present.

“Didn’t I tell you no gifts?” It was more of a statement than a question.

“I know… but I just wanted to give this to you.” She sounded apologetic.

For the past few days, he reminded everyone that he wouldn’t accept gifts and if they wanted to give him one, they could use the money they would use for his gift to donate to charity instead. She knew that. Even though she has something for him, she also donated some money to charity.

“What’s this?” He asked.

Now he was curious too.

“It’s a photobook.” She replied.

He removed the ribbon before he opened the black felt paper that covered the photobook.

The first thing he saw was his face. It was a photobook so what did he expect? No one would give you a photobook with other people’s face as the cover, right? Well, it was possible but she would never give someone a photobook with her face on it. Never.

He saw the words “Secret for Vinhelm” was written at the top right part of his photo. The words was written in a combination of sans serif and brush strokes – not the messy ones — that made the overall feel of the cover sexy and elegant. He wore a white suit. He guessed it was from the MTV awards night few weeks ago. It was taken professionally that he doubted if she was the one who took it.

He browsed through the book for a few seconds and after he saw what was inside, there was no trace of doubt in his system. He was convinced that all the photos he saw were indeed taken by the girl beside him. Her works spoke for her.

“These are great shots!” He sounded like he too can’t believe it.

She was about to say thank you but Ryan already asked her to leave.

“Can I hug you?” She didn’t think twice and asked.

She didn’t bother what Ryan’s reaction would be. Now was her chance and if she didn’t take it now, who knows when would she have the same chance again. She would rather take the risk than regret it for the rest of her life.

He didn’t say a word but instead pulled her in his arms.

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!
She cursed in her head. Her head had gone crazy but her heart was in chaos.

She just hugged Vhyncent Vinhelm, the fucking famous rockstar that every girl in the world was crazy for,
again
. She wanted to prolong it but there was no way she can without her being dragged by his security out of the room.

He let go. She was hesitant to but she knew she had to.

“Happy Birthday again!” She exclaimed before she left the room.

When she got out of the room, she saw the fan next to her. She knew her but she forgot about everything else. She was in her own world.

While the fans were busy with the video, the staff with the party, Vhynce and Ryan with the fan inside the room, Meahri felt like she was in cloud nine hundred ninety nine. Cloud nine was an understatement to where she was.

She was in love with Vhynce.
Deeply
in love.

If she didn’t stop now, it will be the death of her.

Chapter Two

5 years later.

Vhynce and Rayle was busy talking about random stuff inside his office at RMM’s building.

Real Music Makers (RMM) was a music label started by Vhynce 3 years ago, the same time he broke his fans’ hearts when he told them that he was retiring. Since he knew in himself that creating music had always been his passion, he decided to help other artists to make their name in the music industry.

Artists that he knew whose music should be heard by the world.

He started it with his friends, who he knew before, during and after he became a rockstar. It has only been 3 years but his artists already made their own name. Some of them even topped the Billboard charts.

When he started RMM, he made sure that there wouldn’t be a CEO-employee relationship that would happen between them. He didn’t want them to think he was their CEO not because he didn’t want them to respect him but simply because that was the way he was.
