WHAT YOU’LL DO
1.
DECIDE YOUR SIZE
. Lay your glasses onto fabric to see how much you’ll need. A good rule of thumb is to add 2" to the height of the glasses to keep them from falling out. Add just 1" to the width — so the glasses won’t slosh around in the case — plus 1" for two ½" seam allowances.
FABRIC RECOMMENDATION
It’s a good idea to choose a fabric with a bit of weight, especially for the exterior. Fabric that is too thin won’t provide much protection for your glasses.
2.
CUT YOUR FABRIC
. Based on your measurements, cut two pieces of fabric for the exterior of the case. Cut two pieces of fabric the same size for the lining.
3.
STITCH THE EXTERIOR
. Pin the exterior pieces with right sides together. Stitch down one side, across the bottom, and up the other side, backtacking at both ends. Trim the seam allowances, clip the corners (

), and turn right side out.
