SHAPESHIFTER ROMANCE: Protection of the Wolf (Paranormal Shifter Army Navy Seal Protector Alpha Wolf Romance) (Fantasy Military Action Adventure Urban Werewolf Romance Short Stories) (25 page)

“You there boss? You are not going to believe this shit,” came the voice. Axel looked about ready to explode.

“Report!” he snapped.

“They made us, I don't know how, but these are not usual thugs. This mob twerp hired some serious muscle. I am talking military grade muscle. We would have lost a guy if not for a few civilians. The Little Coffee Shop is fine and so are we. Damn lucky though. The civilians are coming over now. You want to listen?”

“Yes!” Axel snapped. He looked up at me and I gave a shaky nod.

“What were you two doing here?” said the voice on the radio. Then I heard a voice with a Mexican accent and winced. Gaspar! Then the next voice was that of my next-door neighbor George.

“We were looking out for our friend’s store. We did not know anything like this would happen. Then that guy over there was pointing a gun at that other guy. So we tackled him and the other guy who had the fire bomb. What is going on? We didn't know there were others looking after Victoria's Little Coffee Shop. It’s like a frigging war! Sorry if we got in the way.” The last voice was George. Only George would apologize for saving the day.

“You were not in the way. I apologize if I am coming off so hard-ass. I need to thank you both and I can say for sure that my boss, the man on the other side of this radio would agree, anything either of you ever need, you contact us. Even then we will still owe you for helping our people.”

“Absolutely, Jack will take care of both of you for as long as you need. I am going to make some calls. I will be getting back to you Jack, stay available, out.” He turned off the radio.

I am sure if I had not been there he would not have signed off. I felt emotion I had never felt welling up and I found I couldn't catch my breath. Axel passed me a shot of something but my hands were shaking too hard to lift it. Max helped me and whatever it was went through me like fire and I started coughing and gasping. Strangely, once that was passed I felt better. Axel nodded.

“I will be right back,” he said, then turned and left. He was snarling at someone on the phone before he was out of the suite. I turned to Max who was looking furious, yet there was a softness underneath. A compassion that I could feel as he squeezed my hand and then took a gulp out of his glass.

“I was hoping to surprise you when you finished your bath. Champagne, sterling company, you would have loved it. That may have to wait my dear.” I nodded shakily and giggled softly. My fear was draining away, but now I wanted to know what happened. Unfortunately we did not know. We went over to the couch and sat side by side. He held my hand.

“It may not seem like it, but this is going to end soon. There is no one better than Axel, I have known him since high school. The man turned down a consulting job with the Secret Service so he could remain independent. He gets a new offer from them every year.” He stroked my hand and smiled softly. Axel came back and sat on the arm of the couch next to me. He put a hand on my shoulder.

“Everything and everybody is fine. I informed the building security and they are taking their own measures. So relax you two,” said Axel.

“Good lord girl you are wound up. Here, turn the other way.” His hand on my shoulder was squeezing in a gentle massage and I turned, facing Max more fully. Both of Axel's hands began working on my shoulders and I could feel they were rock hard. Max held my hands with compassion and yearning in his eyes but he, like me, was trying to fight it. I could feel the caring coming from Axel's touches as well. Donna had been right about them, and me. I stroked Max's hands and forearms. He returned it. Axel pulled my robe off of my shoulders sliding it down. My legs were under me so I rose up on my knees and the robe was removed, out of the way. My shoulders came back as he worked between them. I was only vaguely aware that in straightening my posture my breasts were sticking straight at Max's eyes. He was gentleman enough to mostly avoid looking right at them. Mostly avoid, because, let’s face it he is still a guy.

“Tension and release guys. If we do not release, it can make us sick holding in the tension. Relax Victoria, let it go...let it go...” His hands moved down my back. I felt my muscles release the stress and the stroking of Max's hand moved up my forearm while his other cupped my cheek, leaning close. I leaned towards him.

“I have desired you since I first saw you. I hardly hoped to ever get a chance with you.” Said Max. I blushed and felt Axel's hands moving further down to my hips and buttocks. I could not believe what was happening, but I did not want to choose, I wanted them both. I was transfixed however by the compassion and desire in those intense blue eyes. I could not protest and reached for his shoulders. Any caution I may have had, I could no longer lay claim to. The warmth I always felt inside me while I was around them had spread outward. It was encompassing my entire body. I shivered and moaned slightly as Axel's hands slid over my hips to the front of my thighs. Max pulled me into a kiss that I had to have. As my belly was stroked by the attentive Axel, my arms went around Max. We embraced, my nipples pressed against his chest while my inner flames caused me to arch my back with desire to feel more. I lost myself in our passion. I was aware of the constant touches and physical encouragement I received from Axel.

My shorts were slid down from behind when I removed my tank top and bra, I could not protest. I was ruled by my desires and it felt right. I was pulled back into Max and we knelt facing each other on the couch. I felt his hardness against my thigh and gasped within my moans. Axel was still working on me and I felt his fingers flutter against my clitoris and gasped. My flower of desire was moist and eager. When Max lay back and his eager member was stiff I could not have welcomed anything more than what he positioned for me. Axel was behind me and held me to him. I felt his bare chest against my back as he caressed my breasts. He lifted me slightly and lowered me so Max's throbbing object of my need slid into me. Every inch of me felt pampered and desired so when his inches entered my waiting depths we both cried out in our joining. Somehow Axel too was there caressing me, encouraging us both to release the tension, enjoy the moment. I could feel his own enjoyment against my bare rear as I rode the passion of them both. When Max's hard shaft reached my inner most place, a wave of pleasure gripped me and I rode the wave for a soul soaring trip. Together with Max and Axel, I experience something that cannot ever be put into words. It was a completeness like nothing I could imagine. When Max was spent and Axel lifted me slightly so I was off of Max I could feel Axel's needs still pressing against my soft rear. I could not help turning as his hands continued there caress. We kissed and my desire flamed to life once more. As we began as Max and I had before, I felt Max behind me, keeping up where Axel had left off! Once again these wonderful gentlemen gave me love and compassion and fulfilled my desires. It was an experience I deep down wanted to repeat.

I awoke in the morning and stretched luxuriously. I had a slight headache, but it was not the hangover I expected. I sat up in the bed and looked around. I was in the center of the bed and realized it may require some work to crawl to the edge just to get out, it was that big. I had the silly idea of just staying in bed all day to avoid the work I would have to do. I couldn't help the giggles that came out of me at the thought. Just then, Max walked in fully dressed and carrying a tray with coffee and juice.

“What’s so funny?” he asked with a smile. I explained and he laughed.

“Good point,” I answered. He sat on the bed and I slid over to be closer. It did take a moment to get there and we both laughed again.

“I have to go with Axel and take care of some things. Donna has asked me to ask if you would like to have breakfast with her. I wish I didn't have to go right now, but as long as you’re ok...” He trailed off with an anxious look. I smiled for him and leaned over for a kiss. He was relieved, and we said good morning more properly.

“As long as you two will be back. I can't wait to see what we are like when we are not in the middle of a crisis.” I told him when we broke our embrace. He squeezed my hand.

“I am glad to hear you say “we”. I look forward to finding out too. We both want nothing more than to sit with you, talk and just be together for longer than a few minutes.” I agreed.

“Just talk?” I arched a brow and he grinned.

“Well...” I laughed and we kissed again before he left. I drank some coffee and then had to hop out of bed because my feet did not reach the floor. I took a quick shower and dressed before joining Donna in her room. The huge dining table in her room was loaded with delectable-looking food. We ate and compared notes from the night before. She was not at all surprised that Max and I had got together. She was surprised and delighted I had been with both. I told her about the radio call and she said she had heard about it.

“In fact Vicky, when Max came back out from bringing you coffee, Axel had more news. Detective Hanlon disappeared, but it seems he took his family and hid them. He is working on things out of sight. George and Gaspar's families are in protection. Axel thinks his people are getting a handle on things. So we get to spend today wandering around this fantastic paradise.” She seemed awfully cheerful and I asked her why. She looked around a second and leaned forward.

“Carolyn and I came to an agreement,” she said. I raised an eyebrow. Not that I was surprised with Donna's choice. She swung both ways when it came to attraction.

“We did not do anything last night. We just think that when this is over we may want to see what happens.” I congratulated her and we finished eating. She applauded my choice in clothes.

I was wearing jeans and white t-shirt, tucked in, and a blue vest. I complimented her choice of a red spring dress over a white tank top. It accentuated her curves nicely and I told her so. Then we went for a walk.

“Well I am sorry to say ladies we have had a request from hotel security that you remain on this floor,” Carolyn told them.

Mark, her partner added, “On the bright side you have the entire floor to yourselves so you can still get a lot of walking in.” Since there was nothing we could do about it, we just started walking down the hall. Carolyn was as professional as she had been before. I did not catch one sign that she and Donna had an arrangement. I then remembered that my bodyguards had been at the shop the night before.

“I wanted to thank you two for everything. I was listening to the radio report from my shop last night.” They were both humble and calm about it.

“Thank you,” Terry told me, echoed by Mark. “We are fine and so is the shop. Although I think the Gaspar guy deserves a medal. You have some pretty good neighbors.” I agreed and told them if they ever needed anything to ask. They brushed that off with a smile.

It was weird walking around with four body guards, but the one floor of this place was huge. Entry ways, reception areas, there was quite a bit to explore. We were probably on the opposite side of the building from our suites when Carolyn raised her wrist to her mouth and pressed the other to her earpiece.

“You’re fucking kidding me! How in the...never mind I want cover and back up! We are out in the open here! Now!” By the time she finished speaking we were surrounded and moving down the hallway.

“Where are we going?” Donna asked.

Carolyn shook her head. “There is a fire on the other side of this floor near base. It was purposely set.” She turned thinking and then nodded. “A conference room, this way. There are no windows, and we can barricade ourselves in if we have to.” Donna and I were right back into the terror of the day before with no warning.

“How is this possible?” Donna asked.

“Doesn't matter right now. Now the goal is survival,” Terry answered. He had a point and I took it to heart trying to remain calm. I realized that if I had still been as wound up as the day before I might have panicked. Sure I was terrified, but I could still function. Donna too. We were rushed down the hall until stairway doors opened ahead of us and two guys with guns came out. We were shoved to the ground and two of our guards lay across us. We heard gunfire and shouting. An instant later we were pulled to our feet.

“GO!” shouted Carolyn, and we all ran down the hallway. We ran by two bloody bodies on the floor. Carolyn was in the lead when we approached the conference room. She did not even bother with unlocking it, she shot the lock and ushered us all in. Just as I crossed the threshold I heard a shouted curse from behind us. I turned and was shoved to the ground again as I saw fire flare up in the hall. Carolyn and Terry stayed inside holding the door as gunfire erupted outside. Was it backup?

“Flip that table and get down!” Terry shouted to Donna and me. We did as ordered and got behind it. We looked at each other with a trembling terror and peeked over the top of the heavy table. Our two bodyguards were against the walls on either side of the door. Carolyn was listening intently and then silence fell. The seconds ticked by and she looked at Terry shaking her head. She held up a fist and started counting with her fingers. The door burst open and Donna and I screamed as gunfire erupted again. We huddled on the ground, hearing shouts of pain. Then there were two huge explosive bangs that left my ears ringing.

“Vicky! Vicky! Donna!” We jumped up and through the smoke could see Max and Axel holding huge weapons of some sort with smoke wafting across the room between us. Carolyn and Terry were both standing, but hunched over appearing injured. I saw Axel bring his wrist up to his mouth.
