“I want you to fuck me.”

“Turn around.”

She did as she was told.

He took a step back from her, letting his eyes rake up her body. “God, you’re beautiful.”

“Thank you.” She blushed under his gaze. Her backside was still stinging from the slaps.

He sat down on the couch.

“Unbutton your shirt, Addison.” It was the same command he’d given her earlier when they’d been in his office, only this time it seemed more forceful. And more dangerous. There was nowhere for her to run, nowhere for her to go.

She unbuttoned her shirt.

“Take off your bra.”

She unhooked it, her hands shaking as she dropped it onto the floor.

“Now pull off your skirt and panties.”

She did, until she was standing there in front of him, naked. He just sat there for a moment, looking at her. Her nipples hardened under his gaze. She felt more exposed and more vulnerable than she’d ever felt in her life. Her pussy was so wet, her desire and want for him so strong that it was almost an ache.

He got up then, crossed the room until he was standing in front of her. He trailed his index finger down over her lips.

Then his mouth was back on hers, his tongue probing. He cupped her bare ass with both hands, pulling her close to him. She could feel his hardness through his pants, and the thought that she’d gotten him that turned on excited her. How could she, Addison Maxwell, have made this powerful, gorgeous man want her like this?

“Bend over,” he said roughly.

She did as she was told, bending back over and offering herself to him.

“Do you want me to fuck you?” he asked again.

“Yes,” she whimpered.

“Tell me.”

“I want you to fuck me.”

He slapped her ass so hard that tears bloomed in her eyes. “Again.”

“I want you to fuck me.”

He slapped her again. “Beg me.”

“Please, Nathan,” she said. “Please fuck me.”

She didn’t realize he’d pulled his cock out until she felt it pushed up against her.

He didn’t waste any time. He took her, slamming into her in one fluid motion, until his cock was buried deep inside. Pain ripped through her body, along with an intense pleasure that she had no idea she was capable of feeling. His hand sent another stinging slap against her ass.

His other hand pushed her face down into the couch as he pulled out and then slammed back into her. She was so wet she could hardly believe it. The pain of his cock sliding into her was subsiding, and all that was left was pleasure. But the slaps on her ass were growing in intensity as he got more excited.

“Oh, God,” she moaned. “Nathan, I’m going to come.”

He grabbed her chin, pulled her up toward him. “No,” he said gruffly into her ear.

“You come when I tell you. And not until.”

She whimpered. Standing upright like this was making the skin on her backside tighten, and she could feel how sore she was going to be.

He thrust into her a few more times, his hand around her throat. A few seconds later, she felt him cum inside of her, filling her with warmth.

Then he pulled out of her. His body was next, pulling away from her, walking away and down the hall. She laid there for a moment, not able to believe what had just happened.

She listened for him to come back.

After a few minutes, he reappeared wearing a crisp white t-shirt and a pair of hunter green athletic pants. He walked over to her and helped her up from the couch.

“Lift your arms,” he told her.

She did, and he pulled a t-shirt on over her. It smelled like fabric softener and his cologne. She breathed in the scent.

He kissed her softly on the lips. “Now,” he said, “let’s get you something to eat.”

***

They ordered in. Nathan chose a delicious assortment of Chinese food that wasn’t the kind of Chinese food Addison was used to having. This Chinese food was fresh, the flavors bright and colorful as they exploded in her mouth. Even though she’d eaten at Circle, she was suddenly ravenous.

“Do you like the food?” he asked. He was sitting across from her at his big, round dining room table, and she could see in his eyes that he wanted her approval.

“It’s delicious.”

He nodded. “Good.”

She took another mouthful of rice and tugged at the t-shirt she was wearing.

He grinned at her.

“What?” she asked.

“It’s just funny.”

“What is?”

“That you’re embarrassed to only be wearing a t-shirt after what we just did.”

“I’m not embarrassed,” she lied.

He shrugged. “Whatever you say.” He put his fork down on his plate. “Addison, there are some things you should know about me before we continue this arrangement.”

“What arrangement?”

“The arrangement I’m prepared to offer you.”

“Which is what, exactly?”

“For you to be my submissive.”

She almost choked on the piece of rice she was eating. His submissive? It sounded very dark and ominous. She took a sip of water, stalling for time. “Do you mean BDSM?” she asked finally. Not that she knew much about BDSM – just what she’d read in romance novels and seen on TV.

“Yes.” He nodded. “That’s part of it. I need to make sure that there’s no confusion. I need you to know that I require complete surrender from anyone I’m involved with.”

“I see.” She cleared her throat. “And what does complete surrender entail?”

Her heartbeat accelerated, thinking about it. The place between her legs was still wet and aching for him, and another flash of excitement fluttered through her body.

“It means you will exist only to please me. I will have control over every aspect of your life. Your diet, your social life, what you do at work….and in return, I will treat you better than you’ve ever been treated in your life.”

His bright blue eyes were on hers, and she couldn’t move. She’d felt as if the breath had been knocked out of her. That was crazy, what he was talking about.

Surrendering completely to another person? A man? It was what she had railed her whole life against. Her mother, back in Georgia, was completely dependent on her father, had been for her whole life. She’d never gotten an education, and therefore had been stuck in the marriage even as her father cheated on her and did whatever he pleased.

Addison had spent her whole life trying to be independent. It was the whole reason she’d moved to New York, for God’s sake. And now this man was telling her she needed to submit to him? It was insane. And yet part of her was intrigued. And an even bigger part of her was turned on.

“I thought slavery had been outlawed,” she said.

He seemed to think this was funny.

“No, I’m serious,” she said. “Wouldn’t this make me your slave?”

“I suppose, in a sense,” he said. “Although I don’t really like to use that word.

Everything would be up to you. You would be a willing participant.”

“And how would you make sure I wasn’t doing things that you didn’t want me to do?”

“You’d sign a contract.”

“A contract?” Surely, he was kidding. She laughed.

His eyes darkened. “Yes,” he said, “a contract.”

She swallowed hard. Suddenly, her appetite was gone. This whole night had been too much for her to take.

“I see that I’ve upset you,” he said.

“No.” She shook her head. “You haven’t upset me. I’m just… this is a lot to take in.” Her head was spinning.

He nodded. “I understand. Maybe you’ll feel better after a night of sleep.”

“Yes, probably.” She wasn’t sure she would, though. It was already slightly painful for her to sit, and she wasn’t sure how she was going to feel tomorrow. God, tomorrow. She was going to be at work with him. How was she going to handle that?

“Are you finished with your dinner?” he asked.

“Yes, thank you.”

He cleared her plate and set the dishes in the sink.

“Are you ready to go home, Addison?”

“Can I use the bathroom first?”

“Of course.” She picked her clothes up from the floor and took them into the bathroom. It was huge, of course. There were double sinks, a huge marble tub with jets, a separate shower with gleaming glass doors, and an arrangement of soaps and lotions lining the counters.

She got dressed, trying not to wince as she checked out the damage in the mirror.

Her entire ass was flaming red, and the stinging was growing by the minute. Her legs felt wobbly, most likely from the positions Nathan had her in.

She smoothed her hair down and splashed some water on her face.

Then she joined Nathan back in the living room.

“Ready?” he asked.

“Ready.”

They rode the elevator downstairs in silence. She wasn’t sure if she was upset or relived that she wasn’t going to spend the night. On one hand, being tossed out like this made her feel kind of like a hooker. On the other hand, she needed some time by herself to process what the hell had just happened.

When they go to the limo, Nathan gave the driver her address.

“How did you know where I lived?” she asked, confused.

“It’s in your employee file.”

“You looked in my file?”

“Of course.”

When they pulled onto her block, Addison pushed the button for the divider.

“Can you stop here?” she asked the driver. “I just… I don’t want anyone to see me pulling up in a limo.”

Nathan frowned. “Why not?”

“Because,” she said. “What am I going to tell people if they see me pulling up with you? Tia’s already going to be asking me tons of questions after the scene you made in front of Circle.”

“Who’s Tia?”

“The girl I was with,” Addison said. “She works for you, too.”

“Oh.” He frowned, but instructed the driver to pull over.

The driver started to get out of the car and open the door for her, but Addison stopped him. “Please, don’t,” she said. “I can do it myself.”

She stopped with her hand on the door, wondering what she was supposed to say.

See you tomorrow? Thanks for the fun night? I’ll see you soon?

“This is your block?” Nathan asked. He was looking out the window of the limo with distaste.

“Yes.” She raised her chin. “It’s not the Upper West Side, but it’s clean, and it’s safe.”

“It doesn’t look safe.”

“It is.” She stepped out onto the pavement. “Good bye, Nathan.”

“Good bye, Addison.”

She shut the door.

When she stepped into the lobby of her building, Mr. Gold immediately stuck his head out of his office.

“Addison,” he said. “Do you have the rent?”

“Oh, hi, Mr. Gold,” she said, passing a fake smile on her face. “I’ll have it for you by Friday.”

She pushed the button for the elevator, but it was notoriously slow, and it was all the way up on the fifteenth floor. He took a step closer to her and she could smell beer on his breath. He shook his head. “You girls are all the same,” he said, “All of you trying to make it in the big city, none of you having a fucking clue about how to take care of yourselves. You’re not at home with Mommy and Daddy anymore, Addison. This is the real world.”

“I’m really sorry, Mr. Gold,” she said. “As soon as I get paid, I’ll have it for you.”

He took another step closer to her. “Of course, if you wanted to work out a payment plan, I’m sure something could be arranged.”

“I don’t need a payment plan.” Her eyes flicked to the elevator. It was on the seventh floor now, making its way down slowly.
Come on, come on. Hurry up.

What if Mr. Gold followed her into the elevator? New York elevators were dangerous places. People were always getting mugged or raped in them. Worst still, he had a key to her apartment. What if he came in while she was sleeping? No, she told herself. She was overreacting. Mr. Gold might be a little sleazy, but he wasn’t dangerous.

“Come on, Addison,” Mr. Gold said, grinning at her. “You look sexy in that little skirt.”

The elevator doors dinged, but before they could open he pushed up against her, slamming her cheek against the cold tile of the wall. “It’s okay,” he said into her ear.

“We don’t have to do anything you don’t want to.”

She took in a deep breath and got ready to scream.

But before she could, someone yanked Mr. Gold away.

“Get the fuck off of her,” Nathan growled. He tossed Mr. Gold onto the ground like he was a feather. He turned to her, concern on his face. “Are you okay, Addison?”

Nathan asked.

“Yeah,” she said. “I mean, I think so.” Her heart was still pounding, and her legs were shaking from the adrenaline that was coursing through her body. She felt like she couldn’t catch her breath.

“Hey!” Mr. Gold yelled. He was standing up now, and he reached out and put his hand on Nathan’s shoulder and whirled him around. “Who the fuck are you and what are you doing in my building?”

Nathan didn’t answer him. “Did he hurt you?” he asked Addison.

“Hey, man, I’m talking to you!” Mr. Gold said.

Nathan punched him. Blood spurted from Mr. Gold’s nose and fell onto the floor in crimson spots.

“Come on,” Nathan said to Addison. But she was too stunned to move.

So Nathan picked her up and slung her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, and brought her back out to the limo.

***

As soon as the cold air hit her face, it was like being yanked out of a dream.

Addison was livid.

“Put me down,” she demanded, pounding on Nathan’s back. But he acted like he couldn’t hear her.

When he finally did put her down, it was to set her into the back of his limo. As soon as the door shut behind them, the limo roared to life.

“What the hell?” Addison raged. She was furious. “What the
hell
was that?”

“What the hell was what?” Nathan frowned, seemingly confused.

“That!” she said, exasperated. “You just punched my landlord!”

“Addison, he was trying to assault you.”

“He could call the police,” she said.

“And say what? That I punched him because he was putting his hands all over you?” He shook his head, like the idea was ridiculous. He reached into the tiny refrigerator and pulled out a bottle of water.

“Drink,” he said.
