Chapter Six

Binx was furious as hell while he watched the doctors clean Mallory up. She was messed up pretty bad. Her face was covered in blood and a knot already formed on her forehead. Binx grew angrier just examining his woman’s body, the bruises on her arms, back and chest were two different colors. The doctors believed she had a concussion from the fall and informed Binx they were getting prepared to do an X-ray to make sure she didn’t have any broken bones.

Binx left the room to go outside and make a few phone calls being the doctor said they were also going to dope Mallory up for a few hours. He knew when she got admitted it will be hard to get anything out of her. The first person he called when he stepped outside the emergency room was his boy Tef. If anybody knew how to find and destroy anything it would be Tef; he was certified and very accurate. Mallory probably dogged him out like a motherfucker and fucked with his pride, but she definitely put him on his feet. If it weren’t for her, Binx wouldn’t be as successful as he was in the game right now. When they met he didn’t have anything and she still took him and made him a hustler. Being very appreciative of her he put a price tag on the perpetrators head without second guessing it.

“What’s the word, B.?” Tef answered.

“Yo, it’s some wicked shit flying round T!” Binx started. “Mal in the hospital somebody ran in her shit and gave her the blues.”

“No, B!” Tef said. “Who that is committing suicide for fucking with the Queen?” Tef asked.

“That’s what’s fucking with me Tef!” Binx replied. “These niggas know not to play with me on no shit like this… the beefs I have wouldn’t even amount to this,” Binx said.

“I’mma make some calls and see if anybody talking about anything like this or is it some new nigga trying to make a name for himself,” Tef said.

“If it is a new nigga I want his head cut from his neck-- no discussion or explanations,” Binx said into his phone. He looked around making sure his conversation wasn’t heard.

“I gotcha playboy don’t sweat that,” Tef said into the phone.

“Alright family,” Binx said. “Keep in touch wit me,”he added.

“One hunnid.” Tef said, and then hung up the phone. Binx put his cell in his pocket and walked back inside the waiting area. He went up to the information desk to ask if Mallory had come back from taking her X-ray.

“She’s been admitted to room three twenty-six on the third floor,” the lady told him.

Binx caught the elevator up to the room and found the nurses making sure she had everything. When she provided them her name all of her insurance benefits came up so the doctors took advantage and ran the bill up. Once they turned the TV on and filled her jug up with crushed ice and water they were on their way out.

“We have to fill out a report for the bruises on her body because she is physically in bad shape. Surprisingly and thankfully that she didn’t break anything, but she will have to go through therapy to regain the strength in her body.” The doctor informed Binx about Mallory’s state. “We’ll keep her for about five days to make sure she doesn’t have any internal bleeding.” The doctor added.

Binx looked at his girl, and then shook his head indicating he understood. The doctors left the room and Binx took a seat in the chair beside the bed. He didn’t know if this was her father’s old enemies looking for payback or his own beef. Binx didn’t know what or who he was up against at this point in the game and only hoped she woke up to tell him what she knew.

A knock at the door caused Binx to put his hand on his gun, but when the person walked in he was at ease. He’d forgotten that he’d called his mama on the way to the hospital and told her what happened-- just as always she was there. Binx stood to his feet and gave her a hug, and then offered her his seat “What happened Binx?” She asked looking at Mallory whom was sound asleep so fast. Binx wondered should Mallory have been awoke if she suffered from a concussion.

“I just dropped Brina off back to her mama and Mal call me saying she needed me so I flew over there and found her all messed up,”Binx said.

“Boy I told you to leave this little girl alone a long time ago. I know her and her family and none of them dirty motherfuckers are to be trusted,” she said. Mama had never been fond of Mallory from the first day they met. “She’ll be alright, Son and don’t you go doing anything foolish.”

“I’m not even into that Mama,” Binx lied.

“Uh-huh, well I’m going home. I just got off work and I’m tired. I hope she feel better so you can stop worrying.” She said even though he knew she didn’t care if she got better or not, but he appreciated her effort. He walked her back to the door and noticed an ass so big leaning on the information desk reading a magazine. His Mama was talking a mile a minute and for a while he had tuned her out and watched the fine Clydesdale. “I’ll call you when I get home,” his Mama said. She hit Binx on his arm to get his attention.

“Alright Ma, hit me up.” He told her making sure she got on the elevator safely. When he turned around she walked beside him and pressed the elevator button to go down. Binx was about to walk off, but her giggle stopped him so he turned around and she was looking at him.

“You looking mighty hard now you running when I come to you!” Tiffany said. She was letting the game flow holding nothing back. Binx found this to be attractive and had to stop and make sure she was talking to him.

“Excuse me. I wasn’t running.” Binx said smiling like the charming devil he was.

“But you were staring?” she asked.

“Yeah, I was.” He admitted giving her body another head to toe look, and then he pulled his bottom lip into his mouth. It was as if his girl wasn’t a few feet away in a hospital bed from a savage beating. Just like that his dick led him toward a possibility of some new pussy. She turned around to the elevator opening, got on, Binx followed her.

“What’s your name?” She asked.

“Binx, what about you?”

“Terra.” She replied.

“That’s pretty, you visiting someone?”

“No, I just had an interview for the information desk clerk position.”

“That’s what’s up sweetheart. It’s good to see a nice young woman out taking advantage and interacting with the community,” Binx said.

“Riiiight, I know that much. I interact more than folks would believe,” she said. “What about you? Why are you here?” Terra asked.

“Taking care of some business is all,” he replied not giving any details. It was like she understood his game and respected it. “What’s your name and number so I can call you. I have a run I have to make once this elevator touchdown.” Binx said pulling out his phone ready to get the beauty’s digits. She called them out to him and he saved the number, and then put the phone in his pocket. The elevator stopped, the doors opened, and they got off. She was walking one way and he was walking the other. “Where you going?” He asked noticing she wasn’t walking toward the exit to get to the garage or parking lot.

“I have to use the restroom, I’ve been holding it all day. Don’t forget to call me, I don’t like to be played with.” She said walking toward the restrooms.

“I gotcha sweetheart. In this new chapter with you so far I got you down already as unforgettable.” Binx said returning the game she had started. Terra stopped and looked at Binx. She giggled again this time blushing so hard that he knew she was impressed and he too gave her something to look forward to. Binx turned to leave out the door and on that note and he hustled to his car paying the lousy fifty-cent fee to get out the parking lot. Binx got his phone and dialed another one of his homeboys Styles to let him know they might be looking at a war with the Coca Leaf Squad’s former enemies.

Mallory’s father ran an empire with a squad that’s moving major weight that called themselves the Coca Leaf Boys. Mallory’s father didn’t care for Binx because he felt he was a bum and Mallory had even told him that plenty times. Yet when Mallory put him on and he started making a hefty amount of money…without her father’s connection, he was buying by the bundle within months. Binx repaid her back by giving her whatever she wanted; and yes he’d gotten big headed with the money and loose with the honeys by making babies, but he loved Mallory. Though Binx wasn’t concerned with the Coca Leaf Boys, he would most definitely lay whomever down for Mallory.

“You want me to send them young guns up there and see if anybody looking for her?” Styles asked.

“Yeah do that and I have my people trying to see if I can narrow it down to who might be gunning for my head or the Coca Leaf Boys.” Binx explained to his right-hand man.

“Okay cool where you on your way to now?” Styles asked.

“By my house and check it out, then duck off to my other spot. I can’t be around that hospital too much so make sure ya’ boys ready to pull an all-nighter,” Binx said.

“They gonna be good and I’m meeting you at yo’ spot. I’d hate to not be there if something go wrong,” Styles said. “Let me tell these niggas the game and I’ll see you in a few minutes,” he added.

“Alright homie.” Binx said hanging up the phone and putting it in the center console.

***********

Messiah was two cars behind Binx, but he could tell he was talking on his cell phone. He couldn’t believe the set of balls this dude had beating the living shit out of a woman, bringing her to the hospital, and knowing what room she would be admitted into. Messiah couldn’t put the pieces to the puzzle together for nothing in this world, and had many thoughts of returning her money via wire and canceling the contract. The bullshit he was running into while on this job was not worth getting him or his woman killed.

“I think you should have stayed at the hospital to make sure this dude doesn’t send his goons to murk her ass, then that’s no full payment,” Tiffany said.

“What am I suppose to do? Save her? I don’t fucking think so.

She’s not paying us to be her body guards. That’s not our damn job, we just lay’em down,” Messiah stated. “If he do come in and snuff her out, oh well, we already have half a million from her ass and that’s payment enough for what we have had to go through mentally already.” he informed her.

Tiffany understood that it was just the fact she took her job seriously and no matter what happened she was always paid the amount the contract was set for. Letting Mallory get murked before she got the full one million and two hundred thousand dollars would be giving Teflon Mafia a bad name. Tiffany lived by their job description to the fullest of her ability and she needed Mallory to get paid, she had plans for her man. She wanted to take him to the beach so she could live out her promise of sucking and fucking him for a month there.

“This must be his fucking house!” Messiah said breaking her from the daydream. Her mind was trained on her man and her money. Tiffany turned her attention to the residence while they passed it up and made the block, checking out quick ways to stick and move through the bushes if they needed. Messiah pulled further down the street and waited until they came back out.

“A police live across the street from his house.” Tiffany pointed out the undercover squad car parked there. She just knew a government issued vehicle when she saw one. Twenty minutes passed and Binx was heading back out the house with a book sack on his back and got in his ride. Messiah waited a few seconds and pulled off behind him still trying to be unnoticeable. Tiffany scooted down in the seat in case Binx looked out his rearview mirror.
