The Third Key (GUARDING THE LIGHT) (18 page)

XXII.

The
image they were looking at
that moment
started to twinkle
, then to fade
.
The G
ates
wouldn’t
manifest there

it wasn’t
the
real location of the
D
iam
ond G
ate
.
Thinking quickly
,
Quabil
realized that he still held
all
three
Keys in his hands and
finding the exact location
was
the only thing
stop
ping
him
from
achieving
his evil mission.
His first order of business was
to find out
the
Gate’s exact location
.

Within the
next few seconds
,
the i
mage
grew
weaker and weaker
, but
Quabil
had
already
photographically
memorized each and every detail
from the image – another ab
ility he had achieved by the
help of his
little
friends
.

“The s
tone of
a
dark structure
below
, a
metal
handmade
st
ructure that resembles
some type of altar. Rich ornaments that
form
a diagram of circles like
those
presented
in books on Kabbalah prior
to the
year
1890….”
This was his next goal.

As the image disappeared,
it shook the air as
the powerful bright light
illuminating
the room
died also
.
Quabil
began processing
all the
information
he
had
absorbed when t
he t
wo security guards and
a
priest
had
appeared
near
the exit
. He
looked through them as if they didn’t exist
; his mission was his 1
st
and topmost priority. T
he t
wo assistants
killed the guards
before they could move
, bullets exploding
through
their bodies.

Both guns turned toward the
head of the
Rev. John Summers
,
who
realiz
ed
that he was about to
die. His eyes
opened in
shock -
then he closed his eyes, folded his palms and
prepared
for death
. T
he
killer shots
did not bow
his body into the ground
.
On his knees, trembling in fear, the only thing that he heard was the
sound of a leather shoes
walking toward him. T
he
steps
became louder
,
but he
did not move,
beginning
to
pray:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is wit
h thee; blessed art thou among
women….”

Hoping that he
might
be spared from death
, Reverend John could hear his own prayers filled with fear. The
s
ound of
the
leader
’s
shoes
passed
near
him and
began
to move away, followed by
two other
pairs of shoes
. His heart jumped up in hope and he opened his
eyelids into slits, still
shaking and u
ttering verses of

Hai
l Mary”.

The h
ead priest could see a man
’s shadow,
just about to exit the
church
. B
ut b
efore opening the door
,
he
quickly
turned back
. A v
oice that was filled with
gravel and horror and men’s bones
made
the
priest
start
praying more and louder
than
ever
:

It’s
disgusting
to see the
face of your illusion. You will
soon
meet with real
g
ods and
masters of this Universe,
o ‘
holy
man’
.”
The i
ce-co
ld cynical voice resonated in the
hall of
a
now dark Church. Alarm sirens
screamed
on
,
but
the
priest could hear every word.

“H
ow
ever
,
you will serve me
perfect
ly
for
the
small presentation
I want to offer
to human
s.
V
ery
s
oon
they will see the rest of it”,
added
Quabil
,
and
with a
relaxed arm pointed toward the priest.
T
wo massive
candleholders
made of
brass
star
ted moving from the corners of the
church
, making
a
scratching
sound
.
The
confused
priest
prayed
on
,
but he
screamed in
fear
as he began
to levitate above the ground,
as if an
invisible
giant’s
hand
had
grabbed him.
Rev. John Summers
was
moving his feet and arms
in the air,
in
total shock and disbelief
.

How
can
God help save
you
from me?

were the last sound
s
he
heard
.

The n
ext moment
,
his body was forced to a big wooden cross th
at decorated a central wall of the
church. Two
candleholders started
flying t
oward him with enormous speed. The p
ain was intolerable and
the
man fainted as
candleholders pierced both of his palms
now on a wooden cross
. Blood
spurted
over the white walls when
a
t
hird
candleholder
pierced his feet,
and
everything
under
the cross
turned
into a
bloody mess.

“I have no time for a crown. I just realized whe
re I have to be”
said
Quabil
to
himself
,
and exited
the church.
Behind him was the h
orrific scene of
a
priest
pinned and
hanging
on a
wall -
a beginning of horror.

Followe
d by
his a
ssistants
, he walked toward the
two Range Rovers
parked just across the parking.
He
walk
ed
quick
ly
,
focused
entirely
on his
next
destination.

Part 7

The
Clash

XXIII.

It
could
all be solved by now. The p
ain
and
tension could be
far
gone
; earth could be eons away from
demonic
invasion
. They all could continue
peacefully
living
out
their lives

if they had
found the
Third Key
.

But they
hadn’t!
Only two things were
possible
: t
hey
had gone
to
the
w
rong location or
Quabil
had
been far faster in getting to the
Key
.

In either case, it was late now. It
was
only a question of minutes,
maybe hours
until the
Diamond Gate
opened
and
the
demonic
invasion
on Earth
began
.
Jason
knew he would f
eel
it hard in his soul
when
it
all started
-
he felt helpless, frustrated and angry.

Jason
and Gunnar
sat silently in his
car.
The
M5
version of
a
BMW X6
looked
normal
on the outside… but
i
n
side
the car
had exploded a silent but
emotional firework
s
display
.
Inner
dialogue
and
helpless
desperation ruled their minds in silence -
both men knew th
at words couldn’t help.

“D
o we have
any
time
left
?”
Gunnar
couldn’t tolerate the silence anymore.

Jason
took
his
time
in answering
. After taking
in a
deep
breath
, he finally
spo
ke
:

I
really
can’t tell. I
do not know. We may be
near
the end of our journeys

” –
Jason
started with a pessimistic approach. “

I am
searching for
any
thing that makes sense”.

“We probably went to
the
wrong
location. But
, when I think about the other one…
I
do not feel
it… at all. That
St. Peter

s church
is
n’t
the one
either.”
Jason’s
vo
ice was filled with
strong
dose
of
bitterness.

“I just don’t
sense that we need
to look
there.”

“One thing bothers me … as we sit here, they have got the key and it’s too late, right? We have lost the battle and soon we will lose everything we ever cared for.” Jason paused and took another deep breath.
